Round 43: Tornado Combos

Nominated by Dragvon. Basically, they are sets of notes (commonly in three's or four's even five's) in an formation that makes the player "spin" clockwise or counterclockwise at a high speed. They are a bit similar to small jumps in distance and streams in reaction time.

Map(s) that use this technique
M2U - Nightmare mapped by ignorethis
Megurine Luka - DYE mapped by Shinxyn

Not a good kind of overlap. In the odd case where they don't overlap (Lemon Tree), their flow is still meh.
GladiOol
When used on the right moment and right place it's just pure awesomeness.
Had to vote a 4.

4. much better way than a square combo over and over again, and it flows nice if arraned fine, also this technique allows not only a group of 4 notes, 3 or 5 or more works also well.
Krisom
Love how they play. They can be placed at wrong situations but that applies to pretty much every single technique. 5'd
Dragvon
I love hi-speed challenges and those are just perfect for a "pay attention or die"-moment

Yes yes.

SO CUTE

5'd~

I was quite surprised the first time I played these, I thought I was about to fail but the way these notes play is awesome.
Altought the flow is quite surprising I don't like how they look (overlaps), so 4/5.
Shiirn
Very, very, very rarely ever well done. More often than not destroys the flow.

3 simply because people use it wrong.

you lie

2 for hide and seek. More often than not it breaks my combo.

Anyone else hate overlap like this?
OzzyOzrock
I feel pro hitting these.
Sure

I hate it. Because it looks messy due to previous hitburst.
I prefer same position or somewhere not overlapped.
lepidopodus
Kinda agreed with above. Looks good with editor but not that much when playing.
ShaggoN
I hate it. HATE >_<
TKiller
I like the triangle variation of this, like on DYE.

Constantly getting wider squares are horrid though, one of the most irritating to click patterns.

Uh, almost always not a good idea
Sakura
I like them, they are pretty fun to play and they are usually intuitive for me.
Aoitenshi
This is Shit WHEN used after continuous jumps & deathstreams.

e.g SHK (Or Whatever) - Death Moon II [SHD]

however it is a pure awesomeness when it's not used after hard jumps & deathstreams. You know, this is like another pattern of increasing spacing.

4/5
FireballFlame
2. Usually very stressful to play and often the cause of "unjustified" feeling misses :/
OzzyOzrock
Yeah, I hate these now. :|
Powerdrone
Love these <3

They're so much fun~
theowest
I like the masterpiece version of it. But they're so hard.. >.<
Scorpiour
When that style appeared in a high-speed map within 1/8 jump, it may make players blank after several clicks.....
D33d
I've used them myself, but they're pretty slow and expand and contract in a way which negates overlaps.

They'd be a lot nicer if they didn't create awkward overlaps almost all of the time.
qwertykool
Yeah, I'd say 4/5, if overused they're VERY irritating, but that goes for most techniques, at the right moment, pure win.
