I have been playing rhythm games for about 10 months. I cannot pass PLANET//SHAPER yet, which I thought was weird, considering most players who have been playing as long as me would be able to. Am I correct in that statement?

How long should it take to FC 6* mania maps?

everyone has their own skill curve, and 10 months for planet shaper seems very steep, to FC 6* maps can take upwards of 5+ years depending on the person, it just requires correct practice and determination
Been playing rhythm games over 15 years. I still can't FC a 6*.
Took me 2 years but I play for almost every day
Largest I FC'd is about 4.4* and I've been playing for over 5 years. I expect to be able to FC 5* in maybe 5 more years. 6* in maybe 20 lol.

Anyways don't put yourself on a deadline to get certain scores. Frustration is the only thing as a result. Just improve at your own pace and set more realistic goals like fcing a 4*

I'm now working on getting good at 6* and passing a 7*.

You have a 4star fc and are aiming for one on a 6star map (of which you have very few ranked passes). Consider aiming for a 5star FC first.
Or, you know, don't fixate on star ratings, which do a very poor job of adequately conveying song difficulty for a lot of different types of patterns. Likewise, your overall PA and MA on a map is a much better benchmark of competency than whether or not you FC it.

Try not to gauge solely on the star rating of maps, it'll only discourage you from trying to play underrated maps later on.
There are many maps around the 4* mark that require a significant amount of skill and playing through these will also help you improve quite a lot.
