Feels weird, if I have to eat before dying.
I'd rather skip the main dish and get to the sweet dessert. Some fruity ones, preferably (baker's cake).

What's one thing you've left aside for a long while, and still haven't touched it even once/made any progress on it?
Carmlillball
Pretty much everything. I have zero motivation.

MisakiTobisawa-
basically all of my plans to make 7* or 8* maps, because I'm lazy/don't have enough time recently due to school

same question
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Many of my map projects. Either I'm too lazy or I lose motivation

What do you enjoy the most about school?
samX500
The reason why I like school is because exam to me feel like challenge to overcome. The teacher hands you over the resources you need and you need to use your mind to beat the challenge. I am a pretty competitive person but there is almost nothing I can compete in with just my ability to quickly learn new concept. To me school feels like a competition and since I have never had an hobby, it never felt like it was eating away at anything so I was fully commited to it.

Now that I am about to start playing the euphonium my view might change, I am actually pretty stressed about going to university, I am not sure if I am gonna be able to handle it.

Getting to study something I'm legitimately interested in, making friends and getting to know future colleagues, learning new languages and just in general having something to do other than a minimum wage job.

same q
MisakiTobisawa-
I only seem to enjoy the learning process. I don't really find myself comfortable around other people, and I always prefer to work alone. I tried making friends in elementary school, but I was never good with girls. When I entered a boys' high school, I decided to give up on socializing entirely.

What sort of things do you keep from your childhood? Physical objects, memories and experiences, etc.
[ lexio ]
I keep my old toys from my past, I don't even play with them. (why should I?)

Do you like the Triangles intro in osu!lazer or Circles better?
Birdy
Never tried either.

What instrument would you like to learn to play?
samX500
I have been pretty vocal about it. It's obviously the euphonium. I have already ordered it and I should be getting it on monday.

guitar, would love to be able to play like thr guitarist in undead corporation

The saxophone or the transverse flute.

same q
Carmlillball
I'd love to learn drums or singing! And to get motivated to play the guitar again.

Do you ever think about questions we don't know the answer to (such as where our morality came from, or how we came to exist)?
Birdy
Yeah, quite often, especially when it's like 3am and I can't sleep.

same q
MisakiTobisawa-
I question some of my life choices in primary school and my current state, currently I have a qualified GD which was disqualified months ago. I regret making it, it's actually pretty bad looking back at it. Of course, I would wonder about the past as well, before I was born. Minds smarter than mine... What was their full life like? And so on.

What gets you irrationally anxious? For me it's taking feedback for my maps; it's ironic because I ask for it all the time. Sometimes I don't know how to respond to objective points and things like that, but I also don't want to go through the dreaded process of figuring out how to fix something.

Physical or digital copy?
Tad Fibonacci
Depends on what it is. But generally, I prefer physical.
Digitalization of information is convenient, but they can disappear without warning one day and you can't do anything about it.

Same question.
MisakiTobisawa-
Both cases can disappear just as easily, though. As Tad said, it's all about the context. Currently, most examinations are taken in physical pen and paper, but they may be translated to digitized editions in the near future. For my school notes, I get printed copies and they're also posted online, but I prefer being able to write notes on paper. For writing essays, typing is more efficient than writing with a pen. These are just a few of the many cases we may need to consider.

What's a bad habit you still practice today? I touch lots of things for no reason...
samX500
When I think of doing something new, I always feel like it's something out of my scope of ability and that I might try later in my life when it becomes in my scope of ability.
I have recently been straying away from that line of thought, as I am now starting to play the euphonium despite having absolutely no idea how to play it but it's been something that stopped me from starting something new very often in my life.

Losing concentration while working, usually end up with doing nothing instead of working.

i tend to have a habit of falling asleep abruptly with my computer or lights on. it's frustrating, especially when your parents or relatives yell at you for that, even though you can't exactly control it all that well.

i'll stick with a question i had yesterday.

if i were to do commissions now, limited to headshots ($7-15), busts ($13-18), and full-body works ($19-26), would you want to commission me?
Birdy
I do not know your style, but I do love commissions amd tend to buy those nearly monthly. I'll stick with a strong "maybe".

same q, why not
Carmlillball
Currently not allowed to spend money. Too young. So I'll have to pass.

Same question.
MisakiTobisawa-
Yes, provided I have extra money. It's always nice to see other people doing what I can't.

What's one issue about learning your second language? The Chinese alphabet has 4 different pronunciations and sometimes, even now, I can't articulate them properly when I speak.
Achromalia
Personally, Spanish is just kinda tough with grammar. I've never committed to learning to speak it, though I can pronounce words and read/understand it fairly well. I just have trouble with conversations.

Any particular games you've cherished in your childhood?
Birdy
Spyro the Dragon has been my favourite video game as long as I can remember, and it still is. During my early teenage years when games such as Pokémon Diamond and New Super Mario Bros. were released, the time and effort I put into those started rivalling with Spyro the Dragon for the first spot (it was easy to carry them around on handheld consoles), but they never quite took the first spot home. Even now it's much easier for me to just pick up Spyro whenever and play through it, probably one reason being that it only takes a couple of hours to beat it 100%, while the other two take a bare minimum of 2 days to "complete", a lot longer if you're going for 100%.

So, in short, Spyro the Dragon, which is still my favourite game of all time.

Bloom
Medal of Honor Allied Assault and it's expansion packs.
One of the first games I've ever played, loved the very first mission "Lighting the torch", it's not too hard and has quite the variety.

Starcraft (+ Starcraft Brood War), Platform Racing 2 (browser game), and several Need for Speed games from Underground, Underground 2, to Most Wanted 2003, Carbon, & Pro Street).

I'll throw in Diablo, the original Ratchet & Clank, ehm...

then there's fucking Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies, so good.

so... quite a few.

the Playstation 2 had been my favorite console for all the games i had for it.

the PC and browser games played a good part in it all as well.

good times, until everything went to shit.

Donkey Kong Country Trilogy and Super Mario games, all of which were on the SNES. That was all I had for a while.

I'm sure there are pleeeenty more but those are just the ones that initially pop into my head.

Have any game ideas?

It's really hard for me to come up with them sometimes. On rare occasions where I'm actually motivated I'm just like "ALRIGHT I'M ACTUALLY PUMPED, NOW LET'S MAKE A GAME-", but then I can't come up with anything. Gives me that feeling of desperately wanting to do something but not knowing where to start.
Achromalia
i'm assuming you're looking for game premises? there's also scrappy ideas to implement in pre-existing game projects, but it depends on what resources are available and what can/will be done for some game of sorts.

i'll throw random shit out.

1. how about a rhythm-based bullet hell shooter or platformer? better yet, A RHYTHMIC DANMAKU PUZZLE GAME.

2. a poem puzzler? poem puzzle-platformer? idk.

3. minimalist graphics, music from the Minimal genre, minimalist premise, crazy prerequisite of awareness and multi-tasking + strategy.

4. strategic-heavy game with minimal controls, multiple 2D screens to snap between, but one level, and endless enemies.

hopefully the insanity of that sparks something.

- - -

SQ, hopefully westo can get some more good ideas here.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Not gonna say much because I’m still planning about this but I got this idea from playing DnD with my friends. Rogue-lite game in a fantasy world with spells that you need components to create

i've been looking for this and didn't found yet(or maybe i'm not gaymer enough): a 2d(or 3d) gun-porn game where the focus is building your gun not your character, where you collect gun parts which directly affect gun properties or just find fully assembled gun with solid stats (you can disassemble it for your own gun). I'm imagining some wacky gun builds like homing bullets, ammo or life steal etc. with corresponding rarity of properties.

Not sure if that would interest you but personally, I think that coding physics is very interesting, as you have to adapt the laws and equations you have studied into a more concrete settings and it also helps you understand physics better. So if I wanted to code a game I would ask myself. What physical concept do I find interesting? And then I would find a way to make a game out of it.

Another idea that might be worth checking out would be board game. Those can offer you different challenge than what physics can offer since they are about game rule instead of equations, so you need to find a way to code whatever rule the game has. Just picking an already existing game is the easiest idea but if you really want to, you could come up with your own set of rule which you feel would be interesting to translate into code.
