So, what maps do you play to practice streams? I tried out the stream compilation and found that those streams are a bit easy. I really suck at unexpected streams, which is why I'm asking you guys, what do you play for stream practice :P

Thank you for your suggestions everyone :P

I started going down the list of what you guys suggested (Except for the djmax list, I'll get to that later) and got down to strawberry crisis. My god what a hard map, but it seems perfect for practicing streams :P I can only get about a quarter of the way through it, and I probably won't be able to sleep well, knowing that I can't beat this map, but hey, thanks again for your suggestions!

I personally think some of the Strawberry Crisis! streams are not well timed, I'd suggest that [Kaiden] map, or pretty much every Mystearica map (most of them are really well done and are full of streams: http://osu.ppy.sh/u/91699).

of course a very fun map

true the timing is off for some, but its still a great map to mash keys to imo

The kaiden map is very well made imo :P I am definitely getting better at streams.

My hand is sore from practicing them though. z/x can be killer when playing strawberry crisis for an hour. I think I play osu too much. 4+ hours a day isn't too bad.. right?...

Various Artists - osu! Stream Compilation

Quite easy streams at beginning. Let's see how far you go, cause BPM is slowly getting higher. Finally reaches 240 (wtf ><).

yeah. this one is enough :P

"keyboard breaking". Almost anything by nana mizuki has easy streams (but they're not really unexpected).

I'm good at streams from stepmania/other rhythm games though. It's a roundabout way to do it, but if you play other rhythm games you will get better at the non-mouse portion of osu.

Funny thing really :P I used to play stepmania constantly. Got REALLY good at it.

These maps are really helpful :P Now I just have to find a way to make it into the top 20 players.. hmmm...

Playing one map over and over won't do much other than make you really good at that particular map.

You can practice 200 BPM streams all day, but that won't help you when you download a 140 BPM stream map or a "blue tick stream" map.

Dunno about you, but I got better at streams after I started playing Kanbu.

When I started, I couldn't do Marisa or jtb because I clicked waaaay too fast. Playing Kanbu certainly isn't going to help out with that because I'll just hit FASTER.

If your problem is that you can't hit fast enough, then by all means, play Kanbu. If your problem is that you get 300 100 100 50 100 300 100 50 50 100 100 50 300 100 50, then no amount of practicing "stream maps" will likely help, ESPECIALLY Kanbu, since you can just "brute force" most of it, and the BPM is wrong anyway. Just play everything.

It also depends on your sense of rhythm. If you're getting bad accuracy on streams, it means you're clicking too fast or too slow. Playing maps like Kanburisa, which has a long 200BPM stream, will get you better at keeping same rhythm throughout the stream.

Thing is those Marisa maps are crap, have few streams which are stupidly long and it seems the BPM is wrong, there are better maps for streaming than that.
Gon
Pretty much most of the beatmania/BMS maps.

i'm wondering.. is it possible and recommended to try streams with mouse? my keyboard is not actually that suited for this game, cherry clears.. i haven't played many maps with streams in it yet, but some had triple 1/4ths, which usually go fine at 300s with mouse. however, when trying longer streams it usually drops. could be due to lack of practise, though. it is hard for me to move my mouse on streams, because i play at 3500dpi and every click makes my cursor jump a bit. should i keep practicing with my setup or switch to keyboard for streams? maybe lower dpi to 1800 and get used to that?

edit: wow, sorry for bumping such an old thread. but i'm curious.
