Hello,

I have been playing Osu! on this computer for more than 3 years without any problems. However, my game started having lag spikes those past months.
I found a video where someone else has the exact same problem, so you can understand what happens ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apYjy9Oy1ps ). In my case, it happens only once every hour in average.

Here is what the performance.log shows when it happens : https://puu.sh/AhNFr/f4fd1b1834.txt
The performance tab in the task manager shows no difference.

I already tried to :
- Change compatibility mode
- Enable/Disable every options in the game
- Close every process
- Update drivers
- Switch to Linux

Here are my specs :
- OS : Windows 7
- Graphic card : AMD Radeon R9 200
- Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30 ghz
- RAM : 4 GB

I don't really understand where it comes from, that's why I require your help. Ask me if you need more information.

Thanks in advance, have a nice day !

Try downloading a software that can monitor cpu and gpu temperatures. your components may be overheating due to either dust and debris build up, or dried thermal paste. this is just a safety precaution to see if your main components are thermal throttling r not

I guess it's cold enough.

are you sure your system isnt downloading or installing (like windows update) anything?

you might also want to try setting osu to high priority in task manager
Serenity Story
I think you should try the virus scan and try again, maybe the sudden lag due to virus or malicious code

It's already set to high priority.

Yes, I am. And as I said, I tried to play on Linux on which only Discord and Osu! were on.

I already did it, and everything is perfect. And my Linux was new, so there was nothing bad on it.

I think your computer has a window popping up while you play osu! But it is hidden, making the performance unstable. It is possible and virus (excluded). Do you play other games with this condition?
If so, I think you should try replacing a new video card or cleaning your video card (contact part).
In your case, if reinstalling the operating system and trying to reinstall the software but still can not fix it, I think there is a hardware problem.

I don't know if it's the same problem, but this ( https://youtu.be/IuOCeQRlBUM?t=73 ) happens to me a lot on fortnite (every 10 seconds~). It's weird because changing the graphic settings doesn't affect the performance. The game is smooth anyway but freezes sometimes.

Does your hard drive work just fine?

I think so. Is there a way to check if it works fine?
Serenity Story
Download this software and install and check (.exe)

Did you confirm that your hard drive has a problem?

Oh, sorry, no. The software says that my hard drive health is correct.
