This post is meant for people that wonder whether they should buy a taiko drum and for what price.
A month ago I bought a cheap wii taiko drum for $35 on ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Taiko-No-Tatsuj ... xyn~pR29U5 )
It was shipped from China and I was afraid it was some cheap crap that works badly and only lasts for a few weeks.
But untill now, it has been working very decent for me.
I played Muzukashii / Oni taiko maps, so this information might not be suitable for 4.5*+ maps.
- I experience no input lag (it's connected by bluetooth)
- The hit detection is fine (just make sure you hit the drum correctly and from the correct angle)
- I had no problem at all with this taiko drum.
So if you're wonder if buying this $35 taiko drum is worth it - Yes.
I also made a quick tutorial on how to install the taiko drum with bluetooth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnYlCJe3ikc
Or you can use a nunchuck(tatacon drum) to USB converter, made by montymintypie t/258400
Edit1: As OnosakiHito mentioned, it's very loud. There might be a slight input lag actually, but nothing too concerning, I use a negative offset, somewhere between -15 and -30
