• 01:04:478 - Don't leave sliderends on the downbeats like this, since it starts off a new measure it takes more priority. also guitar, vocal and drum beat here to show that

• 01:11:886 (1,2,3) - flow is very off here and there are weird corners on sliderend of 1 and sliderhead of 3. i think placing 2 like this would make the pattern feel more natural for the player to hit

• 01:14:108 (3) - i dont know why you chose to map the reverse arrow on the blue tick like this, it seems to be placed surrounding noticable drum beats but not ON them, and its also confusing because its the first time you used this rhythm.

(also nc at 00:11:793 (1) - seems kinda random, if anything 00:11:886 (2) - should be nced because of the pitch change idk) nvm after looking through the map i realized ncs are used to distinguishing patterns, my bad.

other than that really fun diff, im looking forward to seeing it in ranked! :)

you say that you hear strong 1/4 sounds but it sounds overmapped with effect volume turned off. im mostly concerned with this one 01:22:812 (4,5,6,7,8,9) -
also, where do the jumps at 01:25:589 (3,4,5,6) - come from in the music, i can only hear 1/1 no matter how hard i try.

i'd like more complete replies from marvollo and armin, they didn't fix much and i wnat to know why. marianna still also needs to reply lol. grrrrr

hello, caught wind of this earlier

doesn't look like topdiff really changed all that much from what lasse/nao suggested earlier in the thread. Still ignoring 80% of the song and not doing anything with the majority of patterns movement-wise to compensate

The Pure Eye:
- 00:27:441 - 00:32:997 - ignores all the variation of the song/vocals/section changes etc etc and spams literally the same rhythm for 6 seconds. I get you're following the drums but even then you can use some variation by using changes in flow to be linear, wide-angle or whatnot instead of just constantly comfortable angle jumps
- 00:33:367 - 00:35:960 - Same pretty much except this ignores even more by using an even simpler rhythm and just symmetry that doesn't attempt to show variation through flow changes or anything either :l

-00:51:145 - the kiai is... just the same thing as the beginning of the map (^ those two sections) like, there's no change at all except for a spacing increase which is kind of underwhelming. The rhythm is basically the same and doesn't really represent the variations of the song at all and despite that there aren't even movement changes to represent it either it's actually in the most literal sense of the phrase "jump spam." Using sliders or using more harsh angles/movement for particular sounds would make for better representation:
- 00:55:960 (5,1) - 1/2 slider would be nice here and for most of these patterns
- the snare is just covered up completely with all these triples and is kinda sad when the primary focus seems to be drums 00:54:756 (2) - etc are all given the least amount of emphasis possible. Even this would be better imo: https://i.imgur.com/LyxBFpw.png and be a lot more interesting to play and represent the song in a more fun way

compare 00:56:886 - 00:59:849 - to 00:27:441 - 00:32:997 - and it's basically the same thing even though the song is clearly different. I think honestly the map could use a lot of work both rhythmically and with movement. The stacking of the triples make the same movement every single time they're used it just gets boring and repetitive and just generally not fun to play at all.

I realize I'm basically asking you to remap this but yeah I can't put it any other way. I don't agree with the map in its fundamental state/idea/concept since that concept ignores the song itself. I'm mainly pointing out why I don't agree and giving some pointers and tips to push you in the right direction to make it more agreeable to more people. If you want more information Lasse and Nao had some good points for the topdiff but they sort of got ignored and slapped with the "subjective lol" card and then "it's symmetry stop killing unique maps".

Sure you can interpret the music with "jumps throughout the whole difficulty" but you can do that with some regards to the song right? This is taking that statement to the extreme by showing rather than telling "jumps throughout the whole difficulty = only jumps throughout the difficulty." That's what it looks like at least.

"I've decided to map it with jumps to emphasize the changes of all stanzas," you said in p/6206506 but even then your map doesn't show that change. You don't use any significantly different angles or movement or even pressure (using corners for higher strain/emphasis) to show those differences. Like, if emphasizing changes in the song is using the exact same movement pattern triple > jumps > triple > jumps for literally tens of seconds on end I don't think you really pulled off what you were trying to accomplish.

most of these streams also fail to capture the rather unique drum rhythm
^this seems to go for most I/X diffs in this set actually I'm aware that it feels a bit overmapped but it's not. Did you actually try to hear it closer? That's why I've asked a lot of friends to help me out if the rhythm I used was the correct for them.
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh they're barely audible so it's hard to say, but it's definitely audible that the snare on the blue gets glossed over pretty consistently as i stated in my point about 00:54:756 (2) - etc so using sliders to show that off would be more interesting perhaps?

anyways yeah, feel free to pm me to clarify further if necessary but i'd first redirect you to what nao/lasse said since they're basically saying the same thing as me.

every mapper wants to overly accentuate weird blue tick snares.

Take for example 00:45:219 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,1) - or 00:38:923 (1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2,3,1,1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,1,2,3,1,1,2,3,4) - .

Yeah so I don't think your reasons for the veto are thought out very well, you weigh your own opinion a little too much in the process since you basically take a few rhythms and say ''well. based on this the entire map is jumps, so it doesn't follow the song'' while the map clearly doesn't exist out of only one type of pattern. I think this should be discussed, rather than blatantly proceeding to push the map without the difficulty just because one party dislikes it.

ps. to clarify yes this is a veto for now
Of course if Gero isn't happy with the difficulty anymore he's free to carry on, but to me this decision felt a bit rushed and not in everyone's best interests.

What I meant was the type of movement. The map generally overall everywhere except for key places like 00:37:997 (1,2,3) - use consistently comfortably angled jumps without much variation. That along with the constant stopping of the stacked triples pretty much everywhere resetting the rotation sometimes not even changing the rotation itself: 00:16:886 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3) - 00:19:849 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3) - etc. I mean making more emphatic direction/movement changes like https://i.imgur.com/Cf7v4rW.jpg or https://i.imgur.com/kGI1LUv.jpg (not necessarily in that timestamp but the idea at least is visible there).

Uhhhh this part is unique to the kiai 00:56:886 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5) - and is mapped the same as 00:27:349 (2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1) - so I'm not sure how it's exactly the same as the first part of the song. At least some sort of different movement could be used but it's still comfortably angled jumps with stationary triples. You could even make triples like this: https://i.imgur.com/XqxlqlU.jpg and it would be more interesting and differentiated from the other sections. Imo the whole kiai could use custom stacked triples just to vary from the non-kiai parts but yeah that's just one option you could do.

It isn't just my opinion being weighed here, it's after reading everyone's posts of the thread multiple times and coming to this conclusion. I'm not the only one who's expressed disapproval and the other BNs that modded the set (and the DQing party) pointed out the same things. There's been a lot of discussion and disapproval over the topdiff so I don't see where you're coming from by saying I'm the only one that disagrees. There's also been a lot of discussion over the difficulty if you just read the thread.

I am willing to discuss it further no problem, that's the responsibility I take by placing a veto. The problem with the map's fundamental idea is it creates a mainly copy-pasted rhythm in the parts in question and the kiai in general. I mean I don't really want to link the whole kiai but you can clearly see its' like triple + 2 circles + triple + 2 circles constantly with some 1/4 sliders/5 note streams (which is fine btw, I don't have problems with the 5plets). The 1/4 sliders play the same as triples anyways and as far as I can see don't really follow anything specific? Vocals? 00:51:886 (3) - isn't a 1/4 slider while 00:54:108 (3) - is? I think I have my reasons, and calling them not thought out like when you veto'd Routing is starting to tick me off, because who are you to decide whether or not I thought out my points?

Of course, if Gero isn't happy with the difficulty he can totally carry on, but if he wants to discuss and perhaps change some things or find a compromise I think that would also lead somewhere. As it is though, I stand by my decision.

Also just to clarify, my first post was a bit.. hmm, reactionary. This can be fixed without a remap, but it might cause a lot of fundamental changes. The majority of what I have issue with is the kiai and the introductory part being the same as it.

As Gero has reuploaded the difficulty, my veto still takes effect.

00:52:441 (1) - This is a bit inaccurate because the vocal has a second pronounced 'o' vocal. It's also the only 1/1 red slider you have so I think having the triple and 1/2 slider would be more consistent with the rest of your rhythms.

00:59:108 (4,5) - I guess you're following the vocals here but the obvious undermapped drums are e.e

01:10:960 (4,5,6) - Would've been nice to see this complete as a triangle with 01:10:589 (2,3) - but then I think the blanket stream wouldn't fit

The only thing I don't like about this is that when you ctrl-a the map, all of the objects feel very centre-right focused and there are barely barely any objects on the left side. It almost feels like I'm playing this leaning to the right lopsided. If I could suggest trying to reorganize some objects that can be hit on the left side? I think that would make for overall even level design ><

I feel like you can move elsewhere in the editor starting with 00:17:626 (3,4,5) - because when it comes back to all the previous objects, things just feel really messy with patterns and designs being overlapped and such.

00:20:404 (3) - I want to say the same with this slider. The overlap looks unpleasant and the flow is shifted here. My guess is because of the higher vocal, but even so, I think the placement and direction of this could be improved.

00:20:960 (6) - Overlap isn't the best here either (imo)

00:26:515 (2,3,5,1) - Personally not too big a fan of these open angles. For more of a direct emphasis I'd just make it an acute angle or if you could imagine a ctrl-g on the triples' location with the slider-tail. But not that far spaced obviously lol. Open angle doesn't really compliment the finish that's why e.e

00:31:886 (1) - Maybe can space this just a few pixels on the left so the slider-bodies don't touch

What is happening here is that you're sacrificing a lot (a lot) of core mapping concept for the sake of having what.. two squares and a pentagon visual? I suppose there are a lot of drums going on but level-design wise, this is not good. It seemingly comes at a random time during the song too, during it's 2nd verse which is more/less the same rhythms as the 1st verse but you use sliders in the first part so I don't know why you'd change it that differently here...

00:39:293 (1,2) - Not obvious enough that these are 1/4 sliders tbh. I like the idea but it'd be better for the player if there was some sort of prelude to these, so that they know these are 1/4's and not 1/2's because their length and spacing is the same as 1/2 so how does it not confuse the player?

00:48:737 (3,4,1) - Would've liked to see this ctrl-g with the slider-tail location for symmetry purposes.

00:55:589 (3) - Slider instead of circle adds more variety for the vocals and less clicky clicky where the vocals arent every 1/2. Also, this should probably be spaced either evenly or higher since new measure downbeat thing. I'd move it to 424:192 so that its a rhombus with the other objects. And maybe it should also be a kick slider to be more consistent with 00:52:626 (3) - lol

00:57:071 (3,3) - Same goes for these objects

00:58:367 (1,2,3) - Same thing goes for this triple, should be spaced higher since the downbeat sounds more demanding with the vocals.

01:00:034 (3) - Four 1/2 sliders is much more reflective of the song imo :<

01:07:441 (3) - 1/4 kick slider on this too

01:07:997 (1,2,3,4,5) - Out of nowhere high spaced stream? This doesn't make much sense especially when the real drumroll on 01:02:441 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1) - is so small (this one should be stronger since it's the measure before the new phrase)

01:05:034 (1,2,3,4,5) - Compare spacing to 00:53:182 (1,2,3,4,5) - same chorus but why so much more spaced x-x

01:11:515 (1,2,3,4,1) - I can understand this spacing, this one is fine because drumroll before new phrase. But the others are nono's

I kinda like the style of this map, although, due to style alone it feels rather flat with the song, as in, it doesn't capture enough of the variance or excitement the song has to offer - it feels very formulaic and flat at times. But the mapping itself is pretty good! so I don't understand much of the veto thing here. There are some big problems I pointed out (and Mir mightve pointed some out too) but hopefully things work out for you and this set! :)
