There are pros and cons to both. The Wehrmacht obviously lost the war and got pummeled by the Soviets all the way back to Berlin. However if you survived you might get back to freedom after the War in Western Europe. If you were a Soviet, you were still at risk from dying, although you got to do a lot of pillaging. However after the war, Soviet Russia was a oppressive state, though you might live easily, especially if you did some unethical stuff like interrogate/torture prisoners. So there is a lot of nuances to consider, isn't not necessarily about whether you prefer Nazism or Communism.
