  • Flow: Quiet a lot of mistakes here. Mainly since the AR is way to low on the map.
    Aesthetics: There are some Aesthetics going on. Sometimes you did good and other times you were just to lazy and rushed them.
    Emphasizes: You need to improove on when to Emphasize what, because you sometimes did things wrong.

    00:07:250 (3,4,2) - These end offbeat?

    Emphasizes
  1. 00:07:250 (3,1,2) - Sliderhead should be on strong beat, while the sliderend should be on a equally or weaker sound.
  2. 00:11:050 (2,3,4,5) - All these feel the same, but the vocals of the song are different. 00:11:050 (2,4) - These should be the same but different from 00:11:450 (3,5) - An example of how I would have done it: https://puu.sh/wZvib/403fb762b2.png 00:09:650 (1) - ending on red tick to get the strong 00:10:850 (2) - still clickable. 00:11:450 (5,8) - On the same vocals and 00:11:050 (3,4,6,7) - on the same vocals. 00:12:250 (8) - Is repeated to not have that awkward gap where nothing happens.
  3. 00:12:850 (1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5,6,1) - Again its very messy on what and how you Emphasize things. 00:12:850 (1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5,6,1) - vocals here 00:17:050 (2,3,1,2,3,4,5,6,1) - percussion there. Especially the last part feels weird since b4 00:11:050 (2,3,4,5) - this is how you mapped the exact same thing.
  4. 00:24:050 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5) - The vocals start here: 00:23:850 - Since you mapped the vocals all the time something should be clickable here. If you didn't intended to map to vocals here, then why is this 00:22:250 (1) - spinner here? You ignored very very strong percussion there. 00:25:450 (1,2) - here you are going on vocals again but 00:26:050 (3) - here you give percussion more attention in makeing them clickable and vocals just a sliderend 00:26:450 (4) - here are vocals again because you clearly ignoring the strong percussion since you put the sliderend there.
  5. 00:32:050 (1,2,3,4) - You placed the jumps wrong. The strong sound 00:32:450 (2) - has so much less spaceing than this 00:32:850 (3) - weak sound. should be the opposite.

    Aesthetics

  6. 00:04:850 (1,2,3,4) - Why aren't there the same distance? You wanted to make 00:05:450 (2,3) - look the same as 00:04:850 (1,4) - . Why didn't you just copy paste 00:05:450 (2,3) - then?
  7. 00:06:450 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2) - These overlaps and stacks just look bad. This is how it looks when everything is on the same tick 00:07:050 (2) - Not well blanket and the distances to the other objects around it are different. 00:07:250 (3,3) - weird overlap. You could for example have stacked them. 00:08:050 (1,2,3,4) - I don't know what these should form, but this looks just random. 00:08:650 (4) - is closer to 00:08:250 (2) - than to 00:08:050 (1) - . Should be equal (It's cuz of stack leniency?) 00:08:450 (3) - is closer to 00:08:050 (1) - than to 00:08:250 (2) - . Should be equal too. 00:09:250 (2) - sliderend should have equal distances to 00:08:250 (2) - and to the start of 00:09:650 (1) - . Look at this picture and now look how I did it I don't even need to draw with paint in it to show you equal distances :P (Use the approach circles for measurement next time).
  8. 00:09:650 (1,2,3,4,5) - Again you tried to get it look nice but sadly you failed. 00:09:650 (1,5) - Why are these not stacked and blanketed well? Why are 00:11:050 (2,3) - these not the same as 00:11:850 (4,5) - these just rotaded? 00:09:650 (1,3) - Why do they overlap?00:09:650 (1,2,3) - Why don't the sliderends form an even triangle? It's just random to me. You got to be carefull of these things. Normal player who do not mod or map won't pay attention to this but these are thing that differentiates a good between a not-so-good map.
  9. 00:15:850 (1) - This slider is really poor shaped. Im sure you can do better sliderart.
  10. 00:17:650 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - Same as befor. No real shape, just randomly placed.
  11. 03:04:850 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - This is a handplaced stream? You should really create streams from sliders (Compose-> create slider to stream...)

    Flow

  12. 00:08:650 (4,1) - This stack flows poor. You should emphasize 00:08:850 (1) - differently.
  13. 00:17:250 (3,1,2) - angles like these also flow extremely poor. Try to move in acute angles.
  14. 00:29:450 (2,3,4) - the distances here are the same but you used 00:29:450 (2,3) - 1/1 gap here and 00:29:850 (3,4) - 1/2 gap here. Things like these should be avoided.
  15. 00:31:450 (4,5,1) - same thing basically
I am gonna stop here since pointing out every single mistake (I didn't even mention little ones) would make this mod take me like 10 hours.
What you should do now is:

  • Look over your map again with the things i mentioned.:
  1. Take a look at Emphasize. Where did you switch between vocals and percussion, when did you ignore strong beats, when did you place jumps on weak sounds, etc.
  2. Then check for asymmetries or weirdly different distances between objects. Where are bad blankets or where do you have weird overlaps.
  3. Then check if Flow is bad. Where did you use blunt angles or stacks? If you did, do they make sense (You can use them for emphasize stuff)
  4. Take this map to a Rest and start a new one.
Especially the last part helps you most. Map a lot like a LOT. Then ask others for short feedback / testplays. It should be enough so you know where you have to pay attention on your next map.
Also you should ask mapper or modder for feedback. The normal player would maybe not even see these things besides flow maybe.

Thank you I learned a lot with you but I don't want to leave this map... I love it so much I worked so hard on the storyboard...Anyway I wish you good luck with your modding request.And why do you want me to improve this beatmap and then you say to leave it there ? Mhh I don't understand,I do some more beatmaps later but I don't really have the motivation for now...+My hard difficulty sounds way more better (emphasize thing).Have a great day ! :lol:

Sorry if you didn't get what i meant at some points. I explained it very bad i have to admit.
If we can't catch each other i'll just post again, explaining to how how i meant stuff.

I felt the exact same. I had this Camellia map.I really thought i can get it ranked. I worked extremely hard on it. I even did Keysounds for a part that took me like 10hours alone. If you read through the mods it even didn't look so bad but then Akalidid a mod for it. He litteraly said the same things. All my hopes were crushed with this mod.
I am pretty sure every single mapper goes through the same stuff where they put tons of effort into something that will very very likely fail.
The reason i told you to go over this map again is, so you see mistakes you did yourself. I didn't even point out 30% of all the mistakes. I tried to give you some basic advice. So you can improve in your next map

For example if you take a look at mods on maps that got ranked, they point out every single blanket, every little flow mistake, every mistake you did with new combos. There are mods with the such weird things where you think: wtf. The quality standards are extremely high due to a lot of new mappers.

So i really recommend: fix the stuff i told you, look over your map again so you see the stuff i didn't exactly mention and try to fix it. Sadly even after that your map won't be perfect. And perfection is what you need to get stuff ranked.

Come back to this map after you did maybe 5-10 more maps.
When I look at my Camellia map from earlier i also think: the hell did i even do there!? And I tried to fix it to a point, where i thought its good enough for ranking.

You honestly improve the most, if you map a lot while keeping in mind your mistakes you did earlier and try to avoid them in a new map.

Hope that answers some of your concerns.

Good Luck for the future of mapping :) If you try hard enough, I am sure you can get a ranked map one day!

- Preview points don't seem to match through all difficulties

Remember:

- ALWAYS use distance snap
- Use copy and paste for sliders and patterns. It looks nicer if you use the same or similar things each time and not reinvent slider shapes.
- For blankets make really sure if they are perfect (using things like the follow circle of sliders or approach circles from other circles)
Ideally you create one round slider shape that perfect fits an object that is 1x distanced from that slider and copy that slider to reuse it.

Normal

- Generally you made the same mistakes like in the easy:
Messed up blankets and not using distance snap and no or lacking use of copy and pasted sliders
I'm not gonna list every single instance of this like I did in Easy because it is simply too much. If you
look at the objects I marked in Easy you should be able to see which objects I meant.

00:49:920 (2,5) - Slider overlap, avoid this on lower difficulties and without reason
01:18:320 (4,1,2) - ^ (circle overlaps too, really confusing for new players)
02:48:320 (4,1) - ^ (light overlap, not critical but you should avoid this)
02:57:920 (4,6) - ^

01:58:720 (1) - Be careful with slidershapes like these. The slider is overlapping with itself and newer players can get confused by this

Hard

- Again: Copy paste and blankets. Try to keep using distance snap in sections where it's needed like: 00:08:320 (1,2,3)
- Set the same preview point as in the other diffs

If you have a reason why any of my mods are unnecessary or wrong then ignore them, especially the flow questions.
You often very abruptly change the direction of the flow which you should have a reason for.

Pls check for each point if you have a reason to keep it, but the stylistic ones.

Remember:

- ALWAYS use distance snap
- Use copy and paste for sliders and patterns. It looks nicer if you use the same or similar things each time and not reinvent slider shapes.
- For blankets make really sure if they are perfect (using things like the follow circle of sliders or approach circles from other circles)
Ideally you create one round slider shape that perfect fits an object that is 1x distanced from that slider and copy that slider to reuse it. How to take 2 hours I'll try next time cause I don't want to spend the rest of my life on this beatmap finnally someone that says that thank you

Normal

- Generally you made the same mistakes like in the easy:
Messed up blankets and not using distance snap and no or lacking use of copy and pasted sliders
I'm not gonna list every single instance of this like I did in Easy because it is simply too much. If you
look at the objects I marked in Easy you should be able to see which objects I meant.

If you have a reason why any of my mods are unnecessary or wrong then ignore them, especially the flow questions.
You often very abruptly change the direction of the flow which you should have a reason for.

Pls check for each point if you have a reason to keep it, but the stylistic ones.
