Hey guys, I am looking to get a mechanical keyboard, because playing on the apple keyboard sucks. I was wondering if I decide to get a korsair k70, do the cherry mx speed switches actually make a difference?

They are a lot better than the apple keyboard, if thats what you mean

I tried to play on pretty much all types of keyboards (even apple keyboards)
Apple and laptop (chiclets) keyboards are nice because you don't get really tired easily, but there is not a really long travel distance.
Standard membrane keyboards like a dell office keyboard has more travel but makes you feels tired after several plays.

Concerning mechanical switches:

There are 3 keyboard switches manufacturers:
Cherry MX: the standard of all mechanical switches
Kailh: cheaper version of cherry switches with cheaper materials.
Gateron: Sort of a clone of cherry but newer with a slightly different feel, those are my personal favorite.

Here comes the important part: switches

Blues have both a bump and an audible click when the switch is pressed to its actuation point. This is nice for typing (especially touch typing) since it’s a clear indication that you’ve pressed the switch. It’s great for avoiding “bottoming out,” meaning the switch is fully depressed, which can help reduce fatigue from typing over long periods of time. However, playing osu! is not the same as typing. The game is much more hectic and if you try to feel or listen to the click, you will be pulling your attention away from the game. Although, the nice and strong bump helps you if you need to "control" you clicks.

Brown are similar to blues but the bump is less noticeable and they are way more silent than blues. For typists, it feels weird because you can feel the bump but you don't hear anything, for osu!, I think they are great because it offers a mid range between silent and tactile.

Reds are linear, which means pressing on the switch feels like pressing on a spring, for a typist they are terrible because there are no way to find where is the actuation point. For osu!, it may be an advantage since there is no bump, which results in faster actuations, but since I can't find the actuation point it is possible that I press the keys very quickly and register the key only once. Btw it can also get really loud if you press really hard on the keyboard.

Silent are the same as reds but it is stealthier and when you bottom out, you can feel like there is a dampener which I don't think are the best.

Speed switches are actually the ones I did not try since I don't think reducing the travel distance from 2 to 1.2 mm gives a real advantage when playing osu!. Think of it like an Ipad touch keyboard.

I have a logitech g810 which is a great gaming keyboard, you can make profiles and there are over 16m different colours for the lighting. it has no extra macro keys or anything but it's a good keyboard. it's around 200-250 dollars depending where you come from.

Personally I am a huge fan of Ducky's keyboards and use a Ducky One with red Cherry MX switches and love the thing. I haven't tried other mechanical keyboards for long periods of time before but just by playing with a Ducky for about 5ish months I can say they are very nice. Plus, I feel like the build quality for Ducky is slightly higher than other companies? Don't take my word on that tho.

But my recommendation is something Ducky (like the One) with any switch you prefer. There are some switch test boards you can get online to test Cherry's switches but that's more money just to test something.

Where about is your price range for keyboards?
lol
get a magicforce 68, good entry level keyboard and relatively inexpensive so if u dont like the switches u chose its no big deal

I don't recommend using the MX Speed switches.
I have the exact same keyboard using those switches, been using it for several months and it takes a long time to get used to that ridiculously low key activation.
You will accidentally press down keys for a long time, and even now I think it sometimes just messes up my combo.

The speed difference is just not there. Unless you only press down every key exactly 1,2mm (Which you won't) there is no reason to get it.
The accidental key-presses will screw you over big time.

The keyboard itself is great, just avoid the MX speed switches and get black or red ones instead (if you intend to get it for osu!)
Red ones are also the standard keys most osu! players use.

Exactly.

TL;DR
K70 keyboard is awesome, the MX Speed switches aren't that great. (Not bad either, but I think Red/Black/Blue > Speed)
