So the first thing that I noticed is that your notes are all clustered in one place. You should definitely try to use the whole playfield. It adds to the variety of placement. On top of that, you're given the whole playfield to use, so use it.

00:20:605 (2) - You should rotate this slider about 60 degrees so it plays into the next string of notes better.

00:24:445 (2) - Same as above, except use -60 degrees instead.

00:32:605 (2) - You can more cleanly make this slider by doing something like this instead of trying to shape it by adding more points.

00:35:965 (1,2) - There should be more spacing between these two notes imo.

00:37:645 (6) - Because this slider is curved, it should lead into the next pattern. If it doesn't lead anywhere, then I think it should be straight.

00:41:245 (3) - Rotate 60 degrees to have it play into (4) better.

00:49:645 (1) - I don't see what you're trying to emphasize with this slider shape. I suggest making it into a curved slider mostly because there's nothing here that really warrants such an aggressive angle.

00:49:705 (1,3) - This one is kinda up for debate, but these sounds are (as far as I can tell) actually on these ticks, not on these ticks which you had mapped.

00:52:525 (1) - Move this spinner from the red tick to the next blue tick because the blue tick is when the sound is.

01:10:525 (1,2) - Again, I don't really understand why you made these sliders so aggressive.

01:25:645 (1,2,3) - This is a pretty huge jump. (1,2) are half the distance of (2,3). While I do agree that emphasizing (2,3) is right, I don't think it should be nearly this much. Consider reducing the spacing a little.

01:30:205 (4) - Why is this slider weird? Also I think it ends on the next blue tick, instead of the current red tick.

01:31:285 (5) - Move this to the next red tick because that's when the downbeat of the sound is.

01:47:965 (2) - Again, don't curve sliders that don't lead anywhere.

01:50:605 (3) - Imo, this should lead into (1) better than it currently does.

01:52:525 (3) - Rotate by -60.

01:59:965 (1) - The players aren't going to expect this sudden change in pattern. You've established where the next sliderhead should be through previous notes, so this kinda breaks player expectations in a not so good way.

02:07:405 (6) - Space this further from (5)

02:34:285 (2) - This slider shape is pretty weird and doesn't fit the music at all imo.

You should probably list this difficulty as "Hard" instead of "Normal" based on the ranking ruleset and that the star difficulty technically considers this "Hard" as well.
I don't agree with any of the sharp slider angles you did. Imo they don't reflect the song at all, but if you have a good reason for them being like that, then so be it.

I wanted to make them sharper during the high intensity parts of the song. However, I added sharp sliders on calm parts as well. Edited most of them and now there are fewer sharp ones, during only the high intensity bit.

  1. 00:09:565 (1,2,3) - waaay too loud hitsounds for this kind of stuff, do some changes (if they sound cool with ya, maybe it's in your skin. In that case copy your skin hitsound stuff into the folder)
  2. 00:17:005 (1,2,3) - emphasis fucked up, the strong sound are at white tick, with one leading sound at 00:17:005 - now you have mapped them all with sliders so that the sounds are in sliderends, which doesn't really work. Circle + 2 sliders (latter of which has one reverse) would capture the rhythms. Or just smth similar, so that the musical emphasis is done right.
  3. 00:20:125 (1,2,3,4) - same. Also 00:20:125 (1,2) - doesn't look too good here
  4. 00:23:965 (1,2,3,4) - yees this is how it works. Won't mention them here, but if there are other stuff done wrong like the above cases, just fix it so it makes sense
  5. 00:39:085 (3) - doens't work when it begins on red tick, just have it one beat long from 00:39:325 - to the current end
  6. 00:42:205 (5,1) - fix the blanket and just actually adjust it so that the visual distance is stable all the way. There are also most likely lot of these so check and fix
  7. 00:46:525 (3,4) - doesn't look good, it's cool that the sliderend is as if in the blanket, but the sliderbody of 00:47:965 (4) - is waaay too curved for this to look good
  8. 01:27:085 (1,2,3,4) - I wouldn't go doing stuff like this on Easy. Like, different rhythms are cool, everyone likes those, but as circles-only, these play kinda unintuitively for players of that level
  9. 01:49:405 (1) - too low breaks for spinners, you can read guidelines on that from the osu! wikis, it was smth like 2 beats in Easy levels iirc
  10. 02:01:405 (2,3,4,1) - blanket cases like these

  2. 00:47:965 (1,2,3) - there's a strong sound here, sure, but I don't really hear a triple tbh
  3. 00:49:645 (1,2,3,4) - nope for random rhythms here as well, use sliders (and timing points >.<) with the slowdown
  4. 01:17:245 (1) - kinda intense spinner and short breaks as well for this level of difficulty
  5. 01:37:885 - where the fuck is the kiai time lol
  6. 01:45:565 (1,2,3) - While I can hear triple here as well, pls map the more distinct one at 01:45:085 (3) - too
  7. 02:12:445 - this pattern is actually pretty cool lol
  8. It's pretty much the same things again: visually make it a lot cleaner (remove unnecessary overlaps, smoothen some slider shapes and apply some blankets, and why not triangles and just visual patterns overall), fix rhythmical things (time the slowdown parts (I believe there was one lil' shorter one other than the one I mentioned earlier too somewhere around 00:27:805 - )) NC and pattern the rhythms so that they make sense, especially from the musical point of view)

Tried it but couldn't get it to work. (I used a 1/8 snap divisor for those parts)

Fixed overlaps, tried to make proper blankets, will reduce curvy sliders and use them for emphasis, honestly I tried the timing of the mentioned parts, couldn't get it to work. Haven't done different BPM timing in a single song before. Will be looking for a way though :). NCs are done, that pattern you mentioned does need work, but still experimenting.

For patterns like this (dunno if you are doing it already) I recommend using the "create polygons" tool from the compose tab in the upper left corner of tabs (or Ctrl+Shift+D for shortcut) Yeah I was using that tool, but idk what happened, some circles went off screen or something, and I just moved them back into place by hand. Fixed and reversed pattern :)

    01:25:645 (3) - nc. Inconsistent, I know, but the gap in music between this and the previous object doesn't have any... let's just say that I think it fits the song's better. Don't know how to say it orz
    01:30:205 (4) - It would be better if you use nc so that it will be easier to tell the change in instrument's focus, as this follow the snare(?) sound while 01:27:805 (1,2,3) follow piano sound. Also same treatment to others, like 01:36:925 (3) . Also adjust the combo length appropriately if you fixed this.
    01:36:925 (3) - something minor, but place the second anchor point to sliderball's position at 01:37:645, emphasizing the piano sound. something like this and this.
    02:00:445 (1) - remove nc and nc 02:01:405 (2) instead since the latter was the first note in kiai.

So I’ve seen a lot of emphasis problems on this map ; where circles are given more importance than they need because it doesn’t reflect the intensity of the map. Example could be :

00:24:925 (1,2,3,4,5)- there's a relatively high spacing while the music is very calm, so your spacing emphasises those more than they need to be, eventually contradicting the song

01:12:445 (2) - here that sound is so muffled it’s almost inaudible, but since it’s a circle and 01:12:205 (1) is a circle as well both are being given the same importance. Non-clickable objects ( slider end or reverse arrows in the majority of cases ) give less emphasis, so I suggest transforming 01:12:205 (1,2) into a slider ending at 01:12:445 so that you catch both sound and give them the right amount of emphasis

02:19:405 onwards - here the slider velocity is rather fast, so all the sliders from this part feel over the top because SV is also a way to emphasise certain parts of the music ; but here the music is very calm and the SVs contradict that by being faster than they need to be

Another aspect you could work on is the flow : which is the relationship in terms of movement between all your objects. Keep in mind that there is no good or bad flow ; however, flow can also be a way to emphasise sounds or parts if it’s different from usual. The main types of flow are circular flow, for example at 01:37:885 (1,2,3,4,1), back & forth flow at 01:41:725 (1,2,3,4,1), or linear flow which can be seen on streams ( but you don’t have any in your map which is fine ; I just don’t have an example to show you but you should know what streams are so I encourage you to go search for stream maps yourself for examples ) but not always ; examples being 00:01:885 (1,2,3,4,5) since there’s no snapping involved between those circles or 01:41:485 (3,1,2) because the angle formed by those is relatively wide. Flow becomes a problem when it’s applied inconsistently ; that being when there’s a switch between different flows without justification. For example :

General things for both Viktor and LimePixel
Okay so I don't think you need 20 different files for hitsounds. This is what I'd do personally:

1) Keep soft-hitclap5, soft-hitfinish, soft-hitwhistle
2) Rename soft-hitclap5 to soft-hitclap
3) Delete all the other .wav files for hitsounds

Most of these hitsounds do not fit the song, and I don't think you need loud sounds for the sliderticks. If you want a silent sliderslide, you need to use a 44 byte silent .wav, which can be downloaded from here: http://up.ppy.sh/files/blank.wav

It also looks like only the Easy diff is using custom hitsounds. I think it's just an accident that you have so many files in there, I'd check the map folder. I'd also use custom hitsounds for your own diffs, LimePixel.


Another thing in general, is the rhythm density. I'll mention it more in each diff I'm modding, but I'd like you guys to know that as you go up in each difficulty, there should be more clickable notes. Sometimes some sounds are mapped in the lower difficulties which aren't mapped in the higher ones, and sometimes you have a slider in a higher diff when the lower diff has two clickable circles. The Easy also doesn't really have enough of a rhythm simplification compared to the Normal, but I'll get into that when I talk about the Easy diff in my mod.

You're new to mapping, if you haven't seen pishifat's videos on YouTube, I recommend you watch some. They are informative and help newer mappers with a lot of stuff. In general, there are a lot of greenlines on the timeline, to change what hitsounds you're using. I don't see a reason for this, especially since it seems like you're not using most of the hitsounds anyway. I'd do what I said in the general box above, and only have one set of custom hitsounds and stick to that.

00:17:005 (1,2) - So, stuff like this, I don't recommend. Having two clickable notes with a 1/2 gap is not recommended in Easy difficulties. Yes, this is low BPM but the Normal difficulty has clickable notes with 1/2 gap in between them, and you usually want to have a more simple rhythm as you go to easier difficulties. 00:17:245 (2,3) - This 1/1 gap is good, and I recommend that you don't have anything more than this in terms of clickable rhythm.

00:20:125 (1,2,3) - So you have the rhythm set up like this: https://puu.sh/vR0DW/7973b5d461.png
I recommend setting up the rhythm to be like this: https://puu.sh/vR0Fb/95a32e1406.png for multiple reasons. First, this makes it so the player doesn't have to click 1/2 rhythms, which I mentioned wouldn't be ideal in an Easy diff. Secondly, this makes it so 00:21:085 - is clickable. Usually, you want strong beats to be clickable, and usually there are strong beats on the start of a measure, indicated by the big white line on the timeline.

00:24:445 (2,3) - Here as well, I believe doing what I said earlier would be a good idea.

00:28:285 (2) - I believe removing the reverse and instead having a circle at 00:28:765 - would be better

00:51:325 (1,2,3) - This will be pretty intuitive for new players, make it a single slider with a reverse instead

01:10:525 (1) - Similar to before, take out the reverse and replace with a circle 1/2 after the slider

01:18:205 (1) - Shouldn't this be consistent to 00:28:285 (2) - and 01:10:525 (1) - they sound pretty much the same to me

01:22:045 (1) - Instead of having slidertick sounds, I would remove the slidertick .wav's and instead of this as a circle on 01:22:045 - and a 1/1 slider at 01:22:525 - so it'd look like this on the timeline: https://puu.sh/vR494/140b61f169.png

You should usually map similar sounds similarly, especially in terms of rhythm. (The shapes and angles can look different but they should play the same rhythmically)

00:41:725 (3) - I would make this a reverse so the gap between each click is more consistent (there will be a 1/1 gap in between like it's been instead of the sudden bigger gap between 00:41:725 (3) - and 00:42:685 (1) -

00:49:645 (1) - Another weird thing, the Easy diff maps the sounds (although poorly) where you have it as a (longer) spinner instead

01:14:845 (3,4) - What you want to do probably, is make 01:14:845 (3) - a 1/1 slider, and then have a circle at 01:15:565 - instead, so it looks like this: https://puu.sh/vRKzh/0f4b7cbb25.png This is to make it more consistent with the previous 1/1 sliders, and because there isn't a strong sound where you click at 01:15:325 (4) - but then you dont have the sound at 01:15:565 - clickable, which is the opposite of what you want

01:34:525 (1,2) - This is bad, you're ignoring a lot of sounds here, and the Easy difficulty has a lot of them mapped

01:37:885 (1,2) - This as well, it also doesn't make sense to suddenly start using these reverse sliders out of nowhere when there is no drastic change in the music

01:53:725 (2) - You were mapping all the strong piano sounds but then you suddenly use this, ignoring 01:53:965 - the sound here

01:55:645 (2) - Here as well, the sudden slowdown to these reverse sliders is quite jarring

02:10:405 (3) - Please don't put 1/4 sliders or 1/4th notes in a Normal diff, newbies can't really play these

02:24:685 (2) - I would replace this with a 1/1 reverse slider

The SR on this is kind of low, and could be buffed slightly if you had some actual spacing in the hard diff. The notes are really scrunched up and even at this bpm this is kinda underwhelming spacing

00:18:205 (4) - So, this is the only difficulty that has a slider, and it ends on a seemingly random location. I would just map a circle like the other difficulties.

00:34:285 (5,1,2) - I personally wouldn't do the rhythm like this, I would suggest something but I'm not even sure how I would go about doing it

01:28:285 (1) - Pretty questionable that it's a reverse slider here but more notes to click in the normal diff. It happens throughout the difficulty too, which makes the spread kinda broken

At this point I've written less for the Hard diff but it's moreso because I think you should try learning these concepts and then applying them. It's pretty good for your first serious map, but know that mapping is extremely hard and you have to incorporate several concepts and tie them together. I really recommend watching some pishifat videos, especially the ones I linked.

I didn't go over aesthetics because trying to learn multiple things at once will be overwhelming, and it'll demotivate you. I'd even recommend trying to just move onto a different song after watching some pishifat videos and reading what I'm trying to explain in my mod, so you go in with a fresh mind. 00:23:965 (1,2,3) - If we look at your difficulty alone, this part is not consistent within your map. Similar piano sounds, but you have mapped it with a 1/1 reverse slider on 00:24:445 (2) - when you have done two separate sliders before this. You should usually map similar sounds similarly, especially in terms of rhythm. (The shapes and angles can look different but they should play the same rhythmically) Fixed

00:41:725 (3) - I would make this a reverse so the gap between each click is more consistent (there will be a 1/1 gap in between like it's been instead of the sudden bigger gap between 00:41:725 (3) - and 00:42:685 (1) - Good point, fixed!

00:49:645 (1) - Another weird thing, the Easy diff maps the sounds (although poorly) where you have it as a (longer) spinner instead Will try to play around with other combos, but I don't think it's necessary, will work things out with the Easy diff afterwards.

01:14:845 (3,4) - What you want to do probably, is make 01:14:845 (3) - a 1/1 slider, and then have a circle at 01:15:565 - instead, so it looks like this: https://puu.sh/vRKzh/0f4b7cbb25.png This is to make it more consistent with the previous 1/1 sliders, and because there isn't a strong sound where you click at 01:15:325 (4) - but then you dont have the sound at 01:15:565 - clickable, which is the opposite of what you want

01:37:885 (1,2) - This as well, it also doesn't make sense to suddenly start using these reverse sliders out of nowhere when there is no drastic change in the music Honestly didn't know what to put here before, but yeah it makes sense to change it. Done!

01:53:725 (2) - You were mapping all the strong piano sounds but then you suddenly use this, ignoring 01:53:965 - the sound here Fixed

01:55:645 (2) - Here as well, the sudden slowdown to these reverse sliders is quite jarring Good point

02:10:405 (3) - Please don't put 1/4 sliders or 1/4th notes in a Normal diff, newbies can't really play these Tried to fix this, hopefully it's better

02:24:685 (2) - I would replace this with a 1/1 reverse slider Good point, fixed

The SR on this is kind of low, and could be buffed slightly if you had some actual spacing in the hard diff. The notes are really scrunched up and even at this bpm this is kinda underwhelming spacing Tried to space things out but, with the song being mostly calm, I don't think it made a huge difference. Maybe increased by about .10

00:18:205 (4) - So, this is the only difficulty that has a slider, and it ends on a seemingly random location. I would just map a circle like the other difficulties. Removed

00:34:285 (5,1,2) - I personally wouldn't do the rhythm like this, I would suggest something but I'm not even sure how I would go about doing it Tried something out, works MUCH better imo

01:28:285 (1) - Pretty questionable that it's a reverse slider here but more notes to click in the normal diff. It happens throughout the difficulty too, which makes the spread kinda broken Tried to fix, hopefully

At this point I've written less for the Hard diff but it's moreso because I think you should try learning these concepts and then applying them. It's pretty good for your first serious map, but know that mapping is extremely hard and you have to incorporate several concepts and tie them together. I really recommend watching some pishifat videos, especially the ones I linked. Already have, but thanks!

I didn't go over aesthetics because trying to learn multiple things at once will be overwhelming, and it'll demotivate you. I'd even recommend trying to just move onto a different song after watching some pishifat videos and reading what I'm trying to explain in my mod, so you go in with a fresh mind. Good luck, and feel free to ask me stuff if you have questions, I'll try my best to help :) Will see, would like to push towards rank after a TON of changes that are needed. But yes, mapping is hard and it'll take a long time before these concepts and rules become second nature to me.

Figuring something out, most likely will remove Viktor's GD. Reasons aside, will map an Easy and will update the map within 2 hours.
EDIT1: Added Easy, ready for modding again.

Note: I took all of the previous Easy mods for the previous GD and made sure that I followed their suggestions.

Easy and Normal diffs are marvellous.
I observed that the Hard difficulty has varying sound volumes but not in Insane diff. Is it you haven't work on it or, anyway, you can look for it there.

Easy-- This difficulty is so nice, it has almost no errors from my point of view, just a thing i noticed,

00:20:605 (2,3) - i think it looks better this way, it would improve the map's aesthetic:


Normal-- this one is also pretty good,

01:42:925 (3,1,2) - could improve aesthetic if you did not overlap the first slider, that would require adjusting some
distance coming next to these 3 sliders.

Insane-- the insane difficulty on this mapset is very interesting, it defines its unique aesthetic,

01:30:205 (1,4) - i've noticed you make a lot of use of curve and red tick sliders, this slider sucession seems a bit weird
for me, you could make them more similar by adjusting the shape of the 2nd slider, maybe?
01:34:525 (2,3,4) - that spacing between those sliders looks odd, it would look better if you spaced them the same.
