I love Styles of Beyond, Mike Shinoda and the older Linkin Park Songs which some you can count into hip-hop.
SOB.. Brings back memories. :)

Anyone here listen to The Roots and Madvillain?

I'm also curious if anyone here likes rap metal? To be honest, I'd like to like the genre but the only good band is Rage Against The Machine, which for me is an amazing band.

I do listen to the Roots! Great band. Never heard of Madvillain though...

About rap metal - I haven't listened to any for a long time so I can't really remember. But I think I like it...?

I don't know.
Listen to Madvillain! Not sure if you'd like them but they are brilliant.

Pretty nice to know that there's someone who listens to The Roots. ;)

Nas is really amazing. I fuck with this track so much and so far it's still my favorite song of his along with Halftime.

Sorry if I sound like a douche, but have you heard of any hororrcore at all?
Horrorcore is basically really vulgar and offensive rap. The reason I like it is not just about the creativity of the vocabulary in the lyrics, but the beat too!

Most of them are terrible but I do enjoy some of Tech N9ne's albums even if he's not as "horrorcore" as someone like the Geto Boys, etc.

I'm surprised this thread was created...

Also, yes I know Drake's One Dance and Controlla give me headaches sometime, but I mostly listen to his more underrated songs like Miss Me, Furthest Thing, Tuscan Leather, Cameras, The Ride, Look What You've Done, Over My Dead Body, and a plenty of other songs.

I lowkey like Controlla

I always stand by this, as much as I dislike his new material, I always felt like his best track has always been Know Yourself.

KYLE's old stuff is pretty good

To be honest, I really wanna see your guys thoughts on crunkcore.

It's a musical genre that combines crunk with an emo vocal style (can be screamo). It can feature either EDM or hip hop beats and can sometimes have some pretty NSFW lyrics...

Crunkcore is terrible, it's honestly one of the genres I feel should not exist. We all know how terrible brokenCYDE and BOTDF are, there's literally no artists out there that could redeem the genre. Sure, music is for everybody, but I won't be able to help but question you if you love crunkcore.
Comfy Slippers
really liked humble, always happy to see a new track by k-dot

XXX's career is based on memes, dunno if i should take him (and his music) serious or not

Thoughts on Joey Badass' new album? Thought it was more tame and normal than his previous efforts. Like he's trying to make it more accessible.

I like B4.DA.$$ more than this for sure, but it's still enjoyable, well-flowed, and consistent. I'd give it a 6/10. Not a must listen, but you'll enjoy it if you liked Joey's earlier efforts albeit it being a bit more underwhelmimg, and if you happen to be someone who hasn't listened to Joey or is a casual listener of hip hop.

Actually i dont like hip-hop & Rap. But if i have to choose.. them i choose hip-hop i think! ^^

Ah, Euro. One of the most underrated rappers in Young Money.

I can tell most of his songs are similar to Drake's underground-like songs.

Despite the fact that in some of his songs he shoves the fact that he's proud of his rap career in your face, I really like him!

'Damn.' Is Kendrick's best album and the best Rap album to ever be released this past decade or the previous imo. It's like he decided to implement his flare of his old works like 'Training Day' into his more modern songs while also paying tribute to the music of the 70s and 80s and the entire album embodies the life essence of Soul and Hip Hop. Kendrick literally can't do wrong.

I just finished listening to DAMN.

I need to listen to it again

My favorite tracks at the moment are DUCKWORTH., FEEL., ELEMENT., XXX.

TPAB for me still is better but I still have to let it sink in.

Guys, what are your thoughts on the Wu-Tang Clan's album "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin"?

I know it might be impossible to get to listen to a single full song on there but it's a very rare album which was named "the most valuable album in existence." It was in production from 2003(?) to 2014 and sold off on 2015. The price wasn't revealed, tho some people estimated it around 2 million dollars.

The album was mean't to be kept private from the public until the year 2103, 88 years after the album's release. It's 88 because the Wu-Tang Clan originally had 8 members and 2 + 0 + 1 + 5 = 8. The number 8 also resembles the infinity sign (∞) which referenced their second album, Wu-Tang Forever.

old news, martin shkreli's already releasing tracks of it as a result of trump winning

i'm not particularly too keen on them since i was never a fan of wu tang's albums after wu tang forever

the members' solo discographies are a fucking gold mine though particularly ghostface killah, raekwon, gza, and method man
