thx to gottagof4ast for background
Stack
NM from queue

General
Lower hitsound volume to 40-50%

add some tags so people can find it more easily

Use some shades of yellow/orange?/black as combo collors as the default ones don't fit

Just googled it quickly and here is a better Background (1080p) http://blog-imgs-100.fc2.com/n/o/g/nogizaka46tte/zahVggU.jpg

Easy
Lower AR/OD/HP a bit

00:01:047 (1,2) - The timing gap here is larger than the one between 00:02:640 (2,3), so it should be bigger

00:04:233 (5) - NC (new combo)

00:06:091 add note here

00:07:419 (10,1) - curved sliders will look better here

00:10:074 (3,2) - overlap

00:12:463 (1,1) - Easy maps need more time after spinners

00:14:853 (1) - You are skipping an important sounds here at the white tick (middle of the slider)

00:19:631 (3,4) - Don't leave a gap here, if you want to leave a gap somewhere leave it between 00:20:693 (4) and 00:23:348 (1)

00:23:348 (1,2,3,4,1) - reduce spacing for an easy map

00:25:471 (1) - Let this sldier end on the white tick

00:26:534 add a circle here

00:29:189 (3,5) - Overlap

00:34:499 (3,4) - Put this at the end of the slider not on the side

00:37:154 (3,4) - Overlap

00:39:278 (5,6) - ^

00:43:526 (9,1) - ^

00:49:366 (2,3,4,5,1) - skipping alot of important sounds

00:54:057 (2) - should start on a white tick

00:55:207 (3,4) - Overlap

00:56:800 (4) - This should be a short slider since the word "mouse almost end imediately and there is no sound after that

00:20:693 (1) - remove NC and add NC here 00:21:224 (2)

Insane
00:06:490 (2,3,1,2) - Overlap

This pattern is also too hard as you need to alternate or singletap 226bpm for a couple of notes

00:14:322 (1,3) - Overlap

00:15:649 (4,2) - ^

00:17:508 (5,2) - stack 2 on top of 5

00:23:348 (2,5,6) - 2 overlaps with both of these

00:25:472 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5) - same as my 226 bpm comment

00:28:127 (5,6) - space this a bit as a perfecct stack is mostly used for 1/1 gaps

00:31:224 (6,3) - Overlap

00:32:906 (7,8,1) - ^

00:34:499 (3,5) - ^

00:36:623 (3) - Put 3 to the left so its more consistent

00:43:791 (7) - If you curve 5 and 6 also curve 7

00:55:738 (5,6,7) - stack properly

00:56:800 (8) - Slider goes on too long

You do listen to the music and place notes/sliders to the beat but you have to work on your patterns alot.

Insane
00:02:906 (3) - put note on red tick and slider on white, remember red tick less important, white more important
00:03:437 (4) - ^
00:05:826 (7) - slider is breaking structure of the map, make it simple
00:09:808 (7) - ^
00:28:127 (5,6,7) - ^
00:06:357 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - very, very, very uncomfortable to read, make them linear, also, you can't increase spacing in 1/4 gaps if your difficulty is under 5 stars
00:25:472 (1,2,3,4) - ^ (unacceptable)
00:26:534 (1,2,3) - ^
00:27:596 (1,2,3,4) - ^
00:31:844 (1,2,3,4,5) - ^
00:40:340 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - ^
00:48:835 (2,3,4,5) - ^
00:52:552 (1,2,3,4) - ^
00:05:826 (7,6) - sounds are different, don't make them similar
00:11:932 (7,1) - don't stack them, also there is sound on blue tick, stack it with 1
00:18:569 (1,2,3,4,5) - fix this star
00:22:817 (1) - make it circular
00:24:145 (5) - replace red tick with note and add slider on white
00:28:127 (5,6) - do not stack them fully
00:56:800 (8) - sound on blue tick, not white
00:55:738 (5,6) - fix this stack

ok so i renamed the insane one to hard since it's become 3 stars now; lowered AR to 8 and i changed the 226 bpm patterns to something easier : i put a 1/4 slider then note. sometimes i just took off some notes to fit the music
thx for the mod i will change stuff on other my other difficulties based on this

ok i will look at these things you showed me before trying to make an insane map again; right now i have renamed this difficulty to hard since its only 3 stars now. i removed the weird fast patterns and put something easier
thx for mod i will try to use what you told me and apply it to other difficulties and maps

[General:]
  • The mp3 is INSANELY quiet. Take it into an audio editing program like audacity and amplify it.
    Check AiMod.
[Easy:]

  • 00:01:047 (1) - The gap after this is too hard for beginners to judge how long to wait before clicking the next object. Make this repeat and remove the circle.
00:03:171 (3,2) - Beginners will not know that (2) does not come next. Please make (1) closer to the tail of (3) instead of (2) so beginners can read this.
    [list:1337]00:16:446 (2,4) - ^
00:05:295 (3,4) - Beginners can't handle this short slider. Make it a repeat slider and remove the circle, as it will play the same length as a 1/1 slider.
  • 00:34:499 (3,4) - ^ Also this one feels really random and makes no sense.
00:06:357 (5,1) - Scoot (1) up so players can find the head of it easier.
  • 00:27:066 (1,2) - ^ Move the head of (1) to the right.
00:10:605 (1,2,3) - Make this a 1/1 repeat slider, as this slider pattern is too complicated for beginners.
  • 00:18:569 (1,2) - ^ Except just make this a 1/1 slider.
00:15:383 (1,2) - These are not spaced right.
00:23:348 - Dont skip this important whole beat.
00:27:066 (1) - Make this start on the whole beat, as the beat is important and players should be able to click it. You can scoot it forward a beat and add a circle where it used to start if you'd like.
  • 00:29:189 (3) - ^
    00:30:782 (5) - ^
    00:33:436 (2) - ^
    00:50:428 (3,4,5) - ^
    00:54:144 (2) - ^
00:30:251 (4,5) - This flow isn't very good. Perhaps you can curve (5) the other way.
00:37:154 (3,4) - This overlap is kind of unattractive. Lessen the curve on (4) maybe?
00:38:216 (4) - New combo.
00:52:552 - Why did you not map this? Place a circle here.
00:54:675 - Make a spinner and end it where 00:56:932 (4) - starts, as beginners will not be able to read or play this last slider properly.Over all, you have a lot of issues of emphasis. Circles emphasize better than sliders do, and slider has emphasize better than slider tails do. Think carefully about which parts of the song you want players to feel are important and click on.

I can tell you're just beginning. If you have questions comments or concerns, feel free to message me! I'll be happy to help.

Check AiMod. I amplified it a bit, not sure if it's too loud or still quiet

For AiMod, it said that some slider ends were not snapped. I tried searching how to fix this problem, but I'm not sure I understand the process of doing this. I have to edit the .osu file? if you have time could you tell me how to do this snapping
[Easy:]

  • 00:01:047 (1) - The gap after this is too hard for beginners to judge how long to wait before clicking the next object. Make this repeat and remove the circle. ok
00:03:171 (3,2) - Beginners will not know that (2) does not come next. Please make (1) closer to the tail of (3) instead of (2) so beginners can read this. ok, i reversed their positions

same
00:05:295 (3,4) - Beginners can't handle this short slider. Make it a repeat slider and remove the circle, as it will play the same length as a 1/1 slider. ok
  • 00:34:499 (3,4) - ^ Also this one feels really random and makes no sense.
i put a repeating slider instead
00:06:357 (5,1) - Scoot (1) up so players can find the head of it easier. ok

  • 00:18:569 (1,2) - ^ Except just make this a 1/1 slider.
ok
00:15:383 (1,2) - These are not spaced right. fixed with distance snap
00:23:348 - Dont skip this important whole beat. i put a circle
00:27:066 (1) - Make this start on the whole beat, as the beat is important and players should be able to click it. You can scoot it forward a beat and add a circle where it used to start if you'd like. ok, fixed all the ones you mentioned
  • 00:29:189 (3) - ^
    00:30:782 (5) - ^
    00:33:436 (2) - ^
    00:50:428 (3,4,5) - ^
    00:54:144 (2) - ^
For these fixes above, do I need to change the length of the sliders as well? Since I moved them one tick forward

00:30:251 (4,5) - This flow isn't very good. Perhaps you can curve (5) the other way. ok curved the other way
00:37:154 (3,4) - This overlap is kind of unattractive. Lessen the curve on (4) maybe? yes
00:38:216 (4) - New combo. ok
00:52:552 - Why did you not map this? Place a circle here. ok
00:54:675 - Make a spinner and end it where 00:56:932 (4) - starts, as beginners will not be able to read or play this last slider properly. ok i put a circle at 00:54:277 (2) - then added the spinner where you said. is that fine

Over all, you have a lot of issues of emphasis. Circles emphasize better than sliders do, and slider has emphasize better than slider tails do. Think carefully about which parts of the song you want players to feel are important and click on.

I can tell you're just beginning. If you have questions comments or concerns, feel free to message me! I'll be happy to help.

NM from mod queue

modded both diffs because it's a pretty short map

the timing for this map sounds really off, 54 offset seems way better IMO, if more people say the timing is off I'd suggest changing it

Advanced
00:07:487 (3) - redo this slider to make it a normal curve
00:15:717 (4) - put a circle on the white tick right after this
00:19:699 (3,4) - you should use a slider for this 1/6 section like here 00:32:974 (5,6) it just makes it a bit more readable and nicer to play because the 1/6 section is so short
  • 00:28:726 (3,4,5) - ^
    00:49:434 (3,4,5) - ^
    00:53:682 (3,4,5) - ^
00:21:823 (4) - use 1/6 snapping on this
  • 00:24:478 (4,5,6) - ^
    00:30:850 (5) - ^
    00:55:806 (3) - ^
00:46:116 (4,5) - use sliders here instead of just repeaters, they don't really make sense for this section
00:57:000 (5) - just a normal straight slider here seems kinda boring

Normal
00:09:543 (3,4) - you should replace these with something more like this 00:07:419 (3,4,5) because it's the exact same sound
00:15:915 (5) - I think this should be a 1/2 slider
  • 00:18:038 (5) - ^
    00:20:162 (5) - ^
00:25:207 (1,2,3,4,5) - move this to the right 1/2 beat and add more to the end of this 00:23:348 (1,2,3) because you're missing a lot of sounds
00:29:189 (5) - make this a half slider and then put something on the white and red ticks after it
00:30:782 (3,1) - feels like something should go between these
00:44:322 (4) - move this mote further away, right now it's kinda ambiguous whether or not it's a 1/4 gap or a 1/2 when you're playing
00:44:322 (4,1) - make the blanket on this a little cleaner
00:45:384 (2) - space this more evenly
00:56:932 (4) - slider is also kinda boring

HELLOOOO FROM MY MOD Q
mods
[General]
-Timing for this whole mapset should be 226 bpm :D I think it would be easier for you to map once you change the bpm
-Same sentiments with other people. consider getting a new mp3 file because the music is too soft :)
[Normal]
  1. Generally, I think that CS 4 and AR 7 for this difficulty is a hard read for beginners. For a normal difficulty, you should try to use a CS ranging from 3-3.5 and an AR ranging from 4-5 (this is what i use personally)
  2. Don't be afraid of using overlapping notes here! This is to increase the difficulty spread :D
00:01:047 (1) - a kickslider for this would sound better perhaps
00:09:808 - consider adding a note here since i see you're mapping by the vocals
00:11:932 - ^same here
00:15:384 (3,4,5) - you could try to spice things a little bit by changing this from a line to a triangle
00:17:508 (3,4,5) - ^
00:19:631 (3,4,5) - ^
00:21:755 (5) - end this slider at 00:22:286
00:22:286 - clickable sound, i suggest using a kickslider

[Advanced]
00:15:914 - circle
00:19:631 (3,4) - this could be a slider instead
00:41:136 (1) - this slider kind of breaks the flow
00:31:844 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - nice pattern here haha. for this difficulty, i think you can improve it further by incorporating patterns with slight jumps like these.

[Hard]
00:01:047 (2) - instead of a sixteenth kickslider, make this an eighth. same for 00:01:578 (4)
00:01:578 (4) - consider putting this in another place cos i think it's awkward that it overlaps with 00:01:047 (2)
00:15:384 (3) - stack with 00:15:649 (4)
00:32:640 (4,5) - fix the distance here. this needs to be consistent with the distance of 00:31:844 (1,2,3)

Note that you don't have to follow everything i said!
Goodluck with this map :D

Yeah! PM me if you have any questions. I'd love to help.

To answer your questions, unsapped notes mean your notes are not on a tick in the timeline. Simply jiggle the note on the timeline a bit, and it should snap. Also jiggle the slider END in the EDITOR to make sure THAT is snapped too.

Keep your sliders on the white ticks. Only change the length if it doesn't fit the song with the white tick it's on.

Thanks so much for this, yes 54 offset does seem much better, i have changed the timing and re-positioned all the notes on all difficulties, sounds better! also reverted some changes from PolkaMocha's mod because i found that the whole beat was on the white tick now (like this one - 00:27:066 (1) - Make this start on the whole beat, as the beat is important and players should be able to click it. You can scoot it forward a beat and add a circle where it used to start if you'd like. )

00:15:717 (4) - put a circle on the white tick right after this i made the slider 1/4 and then put circle on white tick, is that what you were meaning?
00:19:699 (3,4) - you should use a slider for this 1/6 section like here 00:32:974 (5,6) it just makes it a bit more readable and nicer to play because the 1/6 section is so short ok, added sliders in 1/6 time signature for all of these you mentioned
  • 00:28:726 (3,4,5) - ^
    00:49:434 (3,4,5) - ^
    00:53:682 (3,4,5) - ^
00:21:823 (4) - use 1/6 snapping on this ok, snapped to 1/6 for all of these
  • 00:24:478 (4,5,6) - ^
    00:30:850 (5) - ^
    00:55:806 (3) - ^
00:46:116 (4,5) - use sliders here instead of just repeaters, they don't really make sense for this section ok
00:57:000 (5) - just a normal straight slider here seems kinda boring i put this shape that looks like a M

Normal
00:09:543 (3,4) - you should replace these with something more like this 00:07:419 (3,4,5) because it's the exact same sound ok i put the same thing
00:15:915 (5) - I think this should be a 1/2 slider yes you're right it seems better, i changed all three of them
  • 00:18:038 (5) - ^
    00:20:162 (5) - ^
00:25:207 (1,2,3,4,5) - move this to the right 1/2 beat and add more to the end of this 00:23:348 (1,2,3) because you're missing a lot of sounds thx, moved and added a slider before it
00:29:189 (5) - make this a half slider and then put something on the white and red ticks after it ok i put a slider
00:30:782 (3,1) - feels like something should go between these i put a circle on the red tick
00:44:322 (4) - move this mote further away, right now it's kinda ambiguous whether or not it's a 1/4 gap or a 1/2 when you're playing spaced it out
00:44:322 (4,1) - make the blanket on this a little cleaner spaced it out
00:45:384 (2) - space this more evenly spaced it out
00:56:932 (4) - slider is also kinda boring made some kind of M shape

thx for this mod on my normal and advanced, and helping me find the right offset. It definitely sounds better in terms of timing. ill try to improve the 1/6 sections in the advanced and continue working on my timing

HELLOOOO FROM MY MOD Q

[General]
-Timing for this whole mapset should be 226 bpm :D I think it would be easier for you to map once you change the bpm
ok, 226 is kinda fast but i will consider changed the bpm to 226 later on and remapping the entire song if everyone thinks the timing is really off and the beatmap is bad
-Same sentiments with other people. consider getting a new mp3 file because the music is too soft :)
ok, i have amplified the music by +6dB again, and it is quite loud on my end now. but i am wondering if i am replacing the audio file correctly : i amplified it, and then overwrote the audio.mp3 in the osu folder by the amplified version named the same thing. i think thats right. i will try to look for a new mp3 to use if this doesnt work, but it seems very loud already on my computer

[Normal]
  1. Generally, I think that CS 4 and AR 7 for this difficulty is a hard read for beginners. For a normal difficulty, you should try to use a CS ranging from 3-3.5 and an AR ranging from 4-5 (this is what i use personally) ok, i put CS 3 and AR 5
  2. Don't be afraid of using overlapping notes here! This is to increase the difficulty spread :D
00:01:047 (1) - a kickslider for this would sound better perhaps yes it does sound better
00:09:808 - consider adding a note here since i see you're mapping by the vocals ok i added slider at that yellow tick you pointed out and ended it where they stop singing
00:11:932 - ^same here for this one i put a 1/4 slider and then two circles overlapped. i also moved 00:12:664 (7) - a bit earlier to fit with the grill starting to say "laaa"
00:15:384 (3,4,5) - you could try to spice things a little bit by changing this from a line to a triangle ok i have changed all of these patterns you mentioned into a triangle like formation
00:17:508 (3,4,5) - ^
00:19:631 (3,4,5) - ^
00:21:755 (5) - end this slider at 00:22:286 look down
00:22:286 - clickable sound, i suggest using a kickslider i am a bit confused, since you said to end the slider at this time as well. I have put a kickslider at this time and instead, i made the previous slider end one tick before. i am not sure that this is what you meant.

[Advanced]
00:15:914 - circle ok
00:19:631 (3,4) - this could be a slider instead ok
00:41:136 (1) - this slider kind of breaks the flow made it follow direction of flow
00:31:844 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - nice pattern here haha. for this difficulty, i think you can improve it further by incorporating patterns with slight jumps like these. ok i will try to improve this difficulty with things such as these later on.

[Hard]
00:01:047 (2) - instead of a sixteenth kickslider, make this an eighth. same for 00:01:578 (4) ok, sounds better
00:01:578 (4) - consider putting this in another place cos i think it's awkward that it overlaps with 00:01:047 (2) changed place of notes
00:15:384 (3) - stack with 00:15:649 (4) ok
00:32:640 (4,5) - fix the distance here. this needs to be consistent with the distance of 00:31:844 (1,2,3) ok

Note that you don't have to follow everything i said!
Goodluck with this map :D
thx for modding three difficulties, really helped me. i know that i dont have to follow everything you said, but as a beginner i believe its smart to listen to more experienced mappers who actually know what they're doing. ill try to improve the rest of this beatmap with the advice you have given me, it really helped that you found out where to correctly place the notes according to the vocals. i will look over the song and attempt this as well

thank you for the offer for help, ill keep you in mind if i need something

Only change the length if it doesn't fit the song with the white tick it's on.
thank you, i have fixed all AiMod errors.

Hello from #modreqs.

  1. 00:01:115 (1) - This rhythm feels off, try making it a 1/1 repeat slider.Will feel better.

  10. 00:42:531 (4,5) - Ugly overlap tbh.
  11. 00:50:497 (3,4,5) - Why the sudden change of rhythm?
1 diff only because lazy lmfao.

1 diff only because lazy lmfao. its ok im happy for any mod and help

Goodluck!
thanks for your mod, i am still learning the terminology of mapping so i am still trying to understand what "blanketing" and "1/1" really is, i hope i made the changes correctly. ill try to overlook my whole beatmap and try to place notes correctly now

Hello! From my Queue.

General

  • As usual I will recommend watching pishifat's mapping videos.

Soooo the music genre is definetly electro-swing and this genre is defined by weird division of beat. You can find more info here. Point is - you map as if it has only 1/2 snappings and it is wrong. Generally speaking - change your Beat Snap Divisor to 1/3 and watch out for sounds that are on 1/3 ticks. There are plenty, in every beat. Important thing is - vocals follow simple 1/2 division and it conflicts with music.

I don't know if that'd be of any help but I've made a mockup diff just for the sake of showing how timeline could look. Ignore object placement, just timeline is what matters. I've taken into account that you need to skip some sounds in order to make easier diff. I've priotarized vocals when possible.

00:12:664 hear how this sound a bit off-rythm? That's because its snapped to 1/2 unlike the rest of the music. It's very intense and vocals starts on it too. Well, w/o score v2 it's easy to just vaguely hit slider and score 300 since sliders don't take accuracy into account right now, but I'm sure you have problems with it if you'll ever reach the point to call BNs. There is also a sound here 00:06:292 but it's skippable.

Hope you can deduce how the map should be mapped after the break.

To be honest I would not recommend swing music to new mappers, consider gaining more xperience beforehand.

Hope that helped! Good luck!

Hi, when I went to the .osu text file your provided and loaded it up, there was no notes or anything. Is there something missing? I put it in my osu folder and it appears as Timeline Mockup, but theres no notes. also in the folder, there is nothing below HitObjects.
Because of this, i was not able to follow the example you showed me, but i think i do understand what you mean. when i have time i will go over the difficulties and remap them in 1/6 snapping, and try to prioritize vocals in 1/2 when necessary. this will probably mean remapping the entire thing

direday wrote:

i did not know that this song would need such complex snapping when i started it, so that sucks for me; but now that i have already done so much i would like to continue on

thx for your advice, this really helped as i will now change the snapping to 1/6 and remap my song

Damn, something went terribly wrong with the file. And have deleted it already too. Hold up, I'll make another one.

Edit: okay, this one should be working. I have bookmarked places where "swing" part is actually showing. It''s not just 1/3 snapping, but a mix of 1/3 and 1/2 snapping. Actually, usually most of the swingg tracks is mostly snapped to 1/2. Here's better link for it if you are interested.

2nd Edit: To be honest, I'm not sure. Contact someone who's better at this stuff. There is definetly something off in my map but I'm not sure if it is bad offset of the map, or I'm wrong with snappings =\

ok, i will try to find other modders to help me with this problem. thanks for all your help, the mockup you showed me helped me see how to correctly map it

Hi from my qet
[Easy]
  • SV-1.40 it's so many for easy pls use 1.20 or 1.00
Use 1 spacing all over the map
00:01:115 (1) - Do not use reverse slider more than 1 times, it's so hard for beginners
    00:07:488 (1,2) - Why is this spacing different from this00:09:610 (3,4) - ?
00:12:797 (1,1) - Spinner recovery time should be at least 4 beats. This is to ensure adequate time to click a hitobject following a spinner.
00:23:416 (1,2,3) - Do it like this, it looks better.
    00:28:196 (2) - Do curve slider
00:34:567 (3) - Do not use reverse slider more than 1 times
[Normal]
  • Use 1.2-1.4 spacing all over the map
    00:09:810 (4) - this slider start here 00:09:877 -
00:12:664 (7) - Make the slider look prettier
00:20:761 (1,2,3,4) - Why is this spacing different
    00:21:823 (5) - end slider here 00:22:089 -
    00:29:788 (1,3) - Avoid overlap, it's not reading
00:46:513 (1,1) - Spinner recovery time should be at least 2 beats. This is to ensure adequate time to click a hitobject following a spinner.

  • 00:05:363 (5,6,7) - Maybe not stack
Good luck with map

Hi. from the OSUWOT modq. Sorry for late, irl matters kicked me atm. I'm not gonna discuss about visuals first bc it has a lot to improve, gonna fix mostly rhythm and flow.

General stuff
-Avoid using objects 1/8th snapped after sliderends.
-The 2x sv change is too fast, maybe 1.75x or 1.5x could work.
-I don't like using spinners in-between the song pauses. You could just leave it blank and it still works as is.

Easy
-Generally speaking, Easy and Normal diffs use distance snap. Try applying it to this map and see if it works out.
-00:01:115 (1) - I honestly don't like sliders with multiple reverses on an Easy diff. Beginners are supposed to play this and they won't react fast.
-00:30:851 (5) - Snap the slider end to the white tick.
-00:34:567 (3) - The same issue as the one above.
-00:54:743 (1) - snap the slider's end to the white tick before it.

Normal
-00:09:810 (4) - snap this to the red tick.
-00:11:934 (4) - snap this to the blue tick before it so it ends on a red tick.
-00:21:823 (5,6) - works better if the 6 is snapped at the white tick after it. also, extending it a bit works better.
-00:30:318 (2,3) - this is a bit confusing. works better if circle 2 is located above slider 1 and then circle 3 goes below it, for better flow.

Advanced
-Actually, use 1/4 snapping on this, you don't need the 1/6 and 1/4 works better.
-00:40:938 (5,1) - ctrl+g this and rearrange the objects to the way you like. It sounds better if the slider goes first.

Hard
-I don't think I can mod this on a specific-term basis, but generally speaking, you use too many jump forms that it gets confusing and random eventually. Make sure to have a general theme on your map (remember that it's only less than one minute and I hope it's not just a collection of all the ideas you know.)

I don't want to go too much detailed about this, seems like you have a lot to improve though. Good luck!
