I guess you tried everything but searching. This is a simple one - uninstall XNA game studio. Microsoft fucked up with the GAC resolution for it and you it is not playing nice with osu!. This only happens if you have an old old version, anyway.Melon Bread wrote:

I had the same problem with many guys here. When I started osu, an error came out with error code CLR20r3.
Today I just found a very easy way to solve this problem.
DELETE the "zh" folder in your installed files, and your osu will work properly!
Hope it helps to guys with the same problem. And I wish the administer could make this sticky.

I have also had a similar since forever. I have never been able to play osu! on this computer because of this.
Thats why iw as checking around this forum now. Anyone know what could be the cause of these things?
Mine looks like the one above except it says:
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Click OK to terminate..
Click CANCEL to debug.
Either reinstall Windows or install Messenger to get Segoe UI back. Why did you delete it in the first place?MetalMario201 wrote:
To obtain Segoe UI completely legally, install Windows Live Messenger.
(Likewise, install the Powerpoint 2007 viewer to obtain the C- fonts (Calibri, ...). This won't help anything, but the fonts rock!)
But this shouldn't even be a problem since osu! doesn't use the font on an operating system which doesn't include it.

I helped Mashley fix a nullref crash by deleting osu.db. Please try this and see if it has any effect.
I think this might have been the problem since I put new maps into osu! before the problem occured. Anyway, I did what I should have done in the first place: uninstalled whole osu! (excluding beatmaps of course), reinstalled it and put some maps back. And now it works. Thanks anyway.MetalMario201 wrote:
It sounds like a problem map. Try moving out all your beatmaps, then copying them back a few at a time.
