Kanye West is one of the greatest artists of our generation. He is one of the most consistent musicians of the last 20 years, with works that can rival classic compositions by Bach and Mozart. Every single album he puts out is a masterpiece, and every time he reinvents himself, his aesthetic, and most importantly, his music. He does so much with his musical skillset, and can produce songs that stand up there with the best in their niches. He can make inspirational anthems that brighten up any day with songs like Touch The Sky. He can make the most rocking club pop bangers like All Of The Lights, and still make it sound interesting. He can make sharp and incisive social commentary on tracks like All Falls Down. He can be introspective and doleful on songs like Welcome To Heartbreak. He can be heartwarming and appreciative, relateable and down to earth, as shown on Hey Mama. He can even turn a joke into a stroke of genius: I Love Kanye. My listing of varied songs doesn't even hold a candle to one of his greatest talents: putting together cohesive artistic statements through the medium of the musical album. He somehow finds a way to be the best at everything he does, and remain amazingly honest and true to himself as he does it. His range of artistic vision can be described as kaleidoscopic: full of color, mesmerizing, and beautiful no matter how you twist it. It's a shame the media has twisted this genius into a villainous figure, a man with an ego only bigger than his mouth. He may be pretty uncouth, even among celebrities, but that trait is just a part of what makes him so incredible: his unflinching honesty, his unwavering spirit, and his dedication to being who he wants to be. He is an inspiration to me, and should be an inspiration to us all. Kanye West is truly one of the greatest of all time. Of all time.
