In most IRC servers I've been on, you can create your own channels. This is like creating your own chat room.Larto wrote:

The problem with this on osu! is moderation. You can get 100 people in a single "private" channel and have it lack proper moderation.
What you should ask is, "why WOULD this be useful?".

fair enough i guess....However a lot of players don't use irc servers to talk so it could be beneficial for them
I don't see how this would work unless it does create a channel for each private chat. That would get a bit tedious.
If you can create the private server yourself, The server button place might be full! (of course, maybe peppy will add some more channel)

I suggest making a multiplayer game for the time being. It gives you a private chat with up to 8 slots.

What's the difference? A few more people? It's all the same, really...
On top of that, it would be "private" so it would only bother those who have entered the chat.
If it weren't for the multiplayer chat channels, I would think this was an impossible idea.
Isn't there a way to set up a normal channel the same way, except without having to be in multiplayer (so if you wanted to watch someone play and have a group talk about it, or discuss a map in its creation stages with multiple people without bothering the OSU channel)
Maybe you could put a limit on it for up to 8 people like multiplayer or something?

tl;dr: Add a feature where you can create a channel and everyone there can invite people to join,i totally support this. it is nice to have an own channel for just a group of people for whatever reasons. the spectator chat for example is such a gift and you can chat freely and not over 3 persons. games i know starcraft 2 and leage of legends have this feature aswell and for a community game like osu it should be too. totally support, even if at last with the addition of clans/teams there will be a teamchat then i guess? but then again you are bound with your people to a clan just to have it. so anyways here have my +1 i was thinking about where to spend it all day long lolchannel is temporal and disappears when everyone goes offline/closes the tab.
