14:22 inspectorscout: mind if i irc mod?
14:52 Darky1: not at all
14:52 inspectorscout: ok one min
14:53 Darky1: sorry for the late response btw, I just got something to eat ^^
14:53 inspectorscout: oh, i dont mind :)
14:53 inspectorscout: is this your first map?
14:53 Darky1: 2
14:54 inspectorscout: ok
14:54 inspectorscout: have u got the map with u in editor?
14:54 Darky1: the third if you count something terrible... lol
14:54 Darky1: yea? lol
14:54 inspectorscout: ok
14:54 inspectorscout: 00:01:173 (1) - remove the new combo, its not needed here
14:55 Darky1: It's not even on the other diff, so yea, missed that...
14:56 inspectorscout: and do u see it overlaps the next note a little bit? place 00:01:627 (1) - a bit more to the left, or a bit up so you get a nice blanket
14:56 inspectorscout: 00:08:218 (2) - same with this note, place it a tiny bit more to top left
14:57 inspectorscout: same here, fix the blanket 00:15:264 (2,3) -
14:58 Darky1: and this probably too? 00:13:446 (4,5) -
14:58 inspectorscout: and same here 00:20:264 (1,2,3,4,5) -
14:58 inspectorscout: yes that one too
14:59 inspectorscout: 00:31:400 (4,5,6) - here too
14:59 inspectorscout: new combo here 00:25:718 (5) -
15:00 inspectorscout: and thats it for normal i think, just those minor aestethic mistakes. Good job for a 3rd map! now on to dance
15:01 Darky1: I'd like too keep this though 00:20:264 (1,2,3,4) -
15:02 Darky1: I think it looks weird with a little more space, what do you think?
15:02 inspectorscout: hmm....i think you could get away with it, but maybe move them just a little bit apart....hang on
15:02 inspectorscout: 00:20:264 (1,2,3,4) - like this, if it changes on ur map
15:03 inspectorscout: if not, i placed 00:20:264 (1,3) - on x 232, y 72
15:03 inspectorscout: that looks better for me
15:05 Darky1: Yea, I'll change it
15:05 inspectorscout: ok ty :)
15:06 inspectorscout: ok, next up is dance
15:08 inspectorscout: 00:06:627 (7) - new combo
15:08 inspectorscout: 00:09:355 (6) - new combo
15:09 inspectorscout: 00:13:900 (7) - new combo
15:09 inspectorscout: 00:15:264 (1) - remove new combo
15:10 inspectorscout: 00:17:082 (1,1) - both of them, same
15:10 Darky1: oh wow... there is a comborainbow
15:11 inspectorscout: yes, you make combo's of 1 and combo's of 12, try to be more consistent unless the song really asks for a new combo
15:11 Darky1: Yep, I'm doing that right now
15:11 inspectorscout: 00:22:537 (1) - 00:24:355 (1) - 00:26:173 (1) - here too
15:12 inspectorscout: 00:27:991 (1) - same, and start a new one here 00:29:355 (4) -
15:13 inspectorscout: and that's actually all i have to say about it :D i haven't seen overlap issues here, good job
15:14 Darky1: That's nice to hear
grumd
SPOILER
20:43 Darky1: Hey grumd, would you mind taking a look at a map?
20:43 grumd: hey yeah
20:44 Darky1: I gave it to you before, and well... I changed quite a bit lol
20:44 grumd: /np?
20:44 *Darky1 is listening to [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/705306 Kimitaka Matsumae - Futari no Kimochi no Honto no Himitsu]
20:44 grumd: oh
20:45 Darky1: You remember that one? :D
20:45 grumd: yeah
20:46 grumd: can point out what's wrong right now
20:46 Darky1: sure
20:46 grumd: first of all, the song is exactly the same but you suddenly increased spacing 1.5x from here 00:16:627 -
20:46 grumd: i don't get the idea behind that
20:47 grumd: 00:04:355 (2,3,4,5) - also can't see the reason to make it 1.2x here too
20:47 grumd: 00:12:082 (3) - and around here
20:47 grumd: 00:14:809 (1) - this spacing is 0.6x prev, which should be fixed, that's an antijump
20:48 grumd: combined with following 1.2x spacing it makes the distances the same, but rhythm twice as different
20:48 grumd: so basically your spacing is very inconsistent
20:50 Darky1: 00:01:173 (5,6) - What about this one?
20:50 Darky1: The idea behind the increase in spacing was to give the map a little diff curve, is that not a good idea?
20:51 grumd: diff curve?
20:51 grumd: what do you mean?
20:51 grumd: sudden difficulty changes in the map with no reason for that in the music?
20:51 Darky1: Starting out a little easier and get harder later
20:51 grumd: it only makes sense if the song does the same honestly
20:52 grumd: your map should be an extension to the music, not a separate being
20:52 grumd: that's just my philosophy of mapping but whatever
20:53 Darky1: hm, I'll try that on a copied diff
20:53 grumd: 00:07:082 (5) - also there's this minor thing, http://i.imgur.com/CruFyGm.png
20:53 Darky1: And I increased the spacing on sliderparts by 0.2
20:53 grumd: your slider's curve doesn't fit the curve of the stream
20:54 grumd: this would be better http://i.imgur.com/tP5GV6A.png
20:55 grumd: so basically your biggest mistake is inconsistent spacing that doesn't make sense
20:55 grumd: remember that your map must reflect music
20:55 grumd: also i think you have no hitsounds at all
20:55 *grumd is editing [https://osu.ppy.sh/b/705714 Kimitaka Matsumae - Futari no Kimochi no Honto no Himitsu [Normal]]
20:56 grumd: 00:20:264 (1,2,3,4) - this stack is a bad idea, this might be not readable
20:56 grumd: otherwise a pretty neat diff
20:57 grumd: 00:32:537 (1) - but this jump is not very good, might be a bit too sudden or big. you didn't do this before in the whole map. i udnerstand that you want to put it in the middle for some random reason, but better just make a usual spacing here
20:57 grumd: also i would advise you to make SV lower in Easy
20:57 Darky1: [https://www.dropbox.com/s/tqwiukj065j024n/better.png?dl=0 How about this?]
20:57 grumd: not perfect
20:58 grumd: learn to imagine circles like this
20:58 grumd: http://i.imgur.com/5wSGvKY.png
20:59 Darky1: oh, that's a pretty neat tip
21:01 grumd: instead of making spacing 0.8x in Easy, it would be a lot better if spacing was 1.0x but SV was 1.1x
21:01 Darky1: Is it a problem to change the spacing exclusivly on sliders on hard?
21:01 grumd: i mean SV was 1.1
21:01 grumd: answering to your question: i just don't understand why would you only change spacing on sliders
21:01 grumd: nobody ever does that and it doesn't make much sense to me
21:02 grumd: i prefer keeping spacing in Easy diffs at 1.0x because that way the speed of moving your cursor is always the same for players and it makes the map flow better and be more readable
21:02 grumd: when you make spacing 0.8x, player needs to slow down at circles and be faster at sliders, which might be sometimes confusing on uncomfortable for newbies
21:03 grumd: that's basically it
21:03 grumd: Normal diff is quite nice
21:03 grumd: Hard has inconsistent spacing which bothers me
21:03 grumd: Easy needs SV changed to 1.1 and distance snapping changed to 1.0x

first of all, the song is exactly the same but you suddenly increased spacing 1.5x from here 00:16:627 - I tried fixing this on a copied difficulty, and I didn't really like the outcome, the jump from 1x to 1.5 may be a little much. But I don't dislike it. I'd like to get more feedback on this as I'm quite happy with it currently.
00:04:355 (2,3,4,5) - also can't see the reason to make it 1.2x here too This is something I only did on the Hard diff. I increased the spacing by 0.2 during every slidersection. and I like it a lot more than the monotone 1.0 spacing that I tried.
00:14:809 (1) - this spacing is 0.6x prev, which should be fixed, that's an antijump Fixed
00:07:082 (5) - also there's this minor thing, http://i.imgur.com/CruFyGm.png Love the circle thing you showed me!
also i think you have no hitsounds at all Pretty bad at it... so I thought that it would be for the better if I don't try... I guess I'll try around a bit.
00:20:264 (1,2,3,4) - this stack is a bad idea, this might be not readable Changed

instead of making spacing 0.8x in Easy, it would be a lot better if spacing was 1.0x but SV was 1.1x Done

Easy

00:02:082 (7) - Neue Combo?
00:02:764 (10) - Vielleicht auf dieses Braun wechseln. Könnte einen ziemlich verwirren.
00:03:900 (1,2) - Vielleicht so setzen? http://puu.sh/qLEqZ/50d88a1779.jpg
00:16:173 (1) - Vielleicht nen kleinen jump daraus machen?
