Wasn't this suggested a long, long, long time ago? *shrugs* That was so long ago that it probably doesn't matter.
I support this. I'd also like to see how many subscribers I have, even though I'll probably only have like 3. ;P I'd for sure subscribe to Larto/ASH/etc. though so I wouldn't go, "huh? Larto got a map ranked?" 5 months after it happened because nobody told me and then it turns out to be yet another awesome map.

Let it boost mapper ratings, or take on a different chart. Either way you can't do any more damage to the mapper ratings than what has already been done, so there's no harm in another little ego boost.

Modders could use this to mod certain people's beatmaps.

Why would you need a another ranking chart to display how many subscribers each person has? That would be stupid.
It shouldn't matter how many subscribers one has.

I know I'd want to know.I probably should have explained that more.
I don't want this to display any sort of ranking, and I probably won't even look at it more than once. I want it to keep up with my favorite mapper's new maps, and maybe my new maps can get some unexpected views/plays.
Just had another situation where I really wish I could subscribe to a mapper.

The idea is a really good one, there a couple people that I always love playing their beatmaps and while a search can be done sometimes it's nice to know exactly when it comes out. Of course I don't want this to become annoying and see "suscribe to me!" on the end of beatmaps but this is a really good idea imo so...ya +support.
Might as well stuff a bubble on this since I have something along these lines (albeit less obtrusive) in the back of my mind. Don't expect anything anytime soon.

This feature could go hand in hand with the osu!direct feature for the supporters. With this being, have a new tab and/or something like that, that opens another screen in the osu!direct, kinda like forwarding to a page. On there, are a list of mappers that you're subscribed to.
Of course, a subscription should be done on the forums, and with that, have it where the game reads the list, and displays the username. You could include maybe something like a graphic banner for the user, that the user creates and/or one that's automatically generated like the osu! online list, or the stats bar you can find on the forums.

If this is ever made, I think it would be better to know how many subscribers a mapper has - somewhere in his profile ?
And maybe know who a player subscribed to.
