Is it just me, or does anyone find office 2007 annoying to use? After years of consistency from 97-03 versions, I have difficulty using the latest version of word. Like, a lot of word's features are reorganised and now I don't know where everything is.

This is why i still use 2003.. I havent had a reason to upgrade yet!

Same! But I hate it when people save in the new format, or when they use features not compatible with 03. CURSE YOU MICROSOFT

it *is* annoying, but i find that the upgraded document styles and its system are worth the change. stuff looks so much nicer!

The big round button hurts my brain. Things ain't where they used to be! (Well, they are, but they're hiding)

It does look really nice though. :)

Once I got over some of the more confusing things (like where the hell they stuck the save button), I actually thought it was pretty decent. I don't know if I can really agree with completely doing away with standard windows menu's though, it just feels like it should be an integral part of any windows app where there are alot of features to use. I do however feel that the features I need the most are always very visible and accessible, and it feels good to use after a bit.

As stated earlier, I think it's irritating at first, but it kind of grows on you. I really prefer how 2007 looks, it's so much more...clean. Also, I like how it defaults to showing two pages at a time in Word (For me it does at least, might just be my change in resolution from 1600x1200 to 1920x1200)

One thing I hate is Excel however. Something doesn't feel right there. I'll probably get used to it as I do more lab reports (sigh).

Nope, I use OpenOffice.org. The less I have to deal with Microsoft the better.

Microsoft screwed me over on this one. I am the (not-so) proud owner of a Windows Vista. Office 2007 came with the system, but only as a 30 day trial. Yea. Pretty much we have to spend another $150 on the damn machine. Whats worse is that OpenOffice isnt compatable with Vista yet! (since last i checked a few months ago)

Well, your copy doesn't *have* to be legit....

i know what you mean peppy but all I've managed to find are viruses and bad porn programs.

I have Office 2007, and I really like the blue, glossy look, even though it distracts me. XD

It's right there! See!

(almost) On topic, I never bothered to get Office 2007. I still don't know which one I'm using now...
I have the luck that in my university, I can get a free license with a copy of almost all Microsoft products, that means Vista (Bussiness only), XP (Proffessional Only) and some stuff like Visio, Office, etc.

It's something very rare in me, but, I have a legit license for Windows! Yay! XD

Kylecito, read my portion of the quote again.

And consider the fact that i'm stuck on a family computer where my parents run a virus and spyware scan every night. And guess who is the first person they blame if there's something wrong.

I thought (and probably Kylecito) that it was either a virus, or the other. XD

Anyway, I didn't use 2007 but I don't like the fact that there is a new format for it. It throws backwards compatibility to the floor. I know that you can still save stuff in .doc but it won't result the same as the new format...
