Updated Slyphi's diff
added a missing hitsound to Sergio's diff (since you told me to take of them ;P)

Added an exta diff; from when I first started mapping this song. Idk why I waited so long to add it but I decided to add it now because reasons. Time to spam m4ms again

  2. 00:18:910 (1,2,3) - that linear flow doesn't fit well for this kind of section imo, i would reconsider this flow by changing the flow of this jump, maybe make a zigzag flow could be nice xd
  3. 00:31:197 (4) - I would NC this one and remoove NC on this 00:31:357 (1) - too show the new rythmn.
  4. 00:43:803 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - I know you won't change this probably, but this flow doesn't fit those vocals at all and plays horrible imo. 00:48:910 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) - like same here dude.. xD
  5. 00:54:655 (1,2,1,2) - Oh and this totally flows badly xd
    Well you usually use those 1 2 1 2 up and down jump when it's whistle/clap/whistle/clap... etc not for vocal like that..
  6. 01:13:823 (1,2,1) - wtf is that NC choice, please remove nc here at least 01:14:302 (1) - XD and same here 01:15:419 (1) - remoove NC.

@Sergio I keep finding small errors in my hitsounding pattern so if your diff keeps changing its because of that. Also do you want to change your diff to 'light insane' again? since I renamed my old diff to insane. either way is fine by me though

00:11:569 (2) - The guitar (or bass im unsure) makes me think that this should be a reverse 1/4 slider.
00:14:123 (2) - could you make this a bit more away from 00:13:484 (5) - i think it looks better that way. Also you might fix that by fixing ^ snapping i mentioned

00:57:208 (1) - is very close to the slider end, I see no reason for it and it doesn't look very good. In fact i think it's the only 1tap circle so close to sliderend in the map.
01:01:376 (3) - You could move this slider a bit down to fit the curve of previous 2 circles.

It's a really cute map and I really like it, I favorited it, keep it up!

@Kisses I have to ask you to move the red timing section to offset -239 (check my diff) since I can't silence the first sliderend otherwise. Also, don't worry about little hitsounds being fixed, it's not really a problem lol

Maybe I was overcautious as I've seen a lot of gd'ers raging at mappers for changing their diffs without consent recently lol.
and yes, I changed the offset to the same as yours

I might say that this is not like an Easy, it's more like a Normal. Lots of objects start on a red tick, and they are totally avoidable. If im the mapper i might change the diffname from Easy/Normal to Normal/Advanced, so that can fit the real difficulty more.

00:17:633 (2) - slightly offscreen. just move it a little bit and you can get away from troubles.

  1. 00:30:080 (2) - I'll recommend you to make it reverse once, there's a vocal behind there. That's also good for simplifying the beat.
  2. 00:41:888 - just a note, you almost ignored all of the vocals in this part, while you kept them emphasized in higher diffs. It's still fine but you lost a huge opportunity on making diversity and simplifying the beats. This is also the reason why I think it's more like a Normal diff.
  3. 01:22:759 - 01:32:972 - I don't think go all along with 1/1 sliders is a great idea. As a part of ending, you can try to make it similar to your intro.

  2. 01:15:100 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3) - comparing to the rest of your map, this combo is extremely longer. for the overall difficulty, I think the length like 00:34:229 (1,2,3,4,1) - is long enough for this diff. Probably need to nerf one note.

It's not the DS, its the inconsistent overlap. You messed up while copy/pasting a certain angle change i think... that or you mapped the pattern manually, but either way, because the overlaps were inconsistent it came across as unpolished. (Actually a few of them are off, but i only mentioned the ones that I could see immediately).

As you can see, the overlaps aren't consistent. Red slider is the one that will stand out here.

00:48:910 (1,1,1,1) -


Here, the slider-end of the blue and red sliders are noticeably off. As well, the pattern doesn't seem to curve naturally. It looks like you placed them manually instead of placing two, copy/pasting, and rotating a certain degree.


Additionally:

00:10:452 - Still feels better with something here... Leaving it empty just doesn't sound nice to me, especially since in the music, the piano/synth sound builds up in pitch towards this note, and it's quite emphasized when you consider the piano.
00:13:803 (1,2,3) - The inconsistent distances between these blanket patterns really makes this look unpolished imo xP.
00:23:378 (2,3,4) - This pattern actually looks really off when you enable stacking. I really doubt you intended for this kind of spacing. Slider 4 is a lot higher up than it is without stacking. Consider manually stacking, or reducing Stack Leniency to 5. Additionally, i think you were going for a linear pattern with 2>3>4 so i would reposition 3 too, because with stacking disabled, it still doesn't look perfectly linear.
00:27:846 (1,1,1) - 1/2 allows you to map the drums too. Additionally, the vocals aren't sharp here, you can hear them being held over a duration of 1/2 a beat so using kicksliders here isn't a good choice. Kicksliders are better for emphasizing sharp notes that noticeably end before the 1/2 tick, but here it sounds like any other vocal.
01:05:366 (3,4) - Emphatically, this jump didn't seem that necessary, but I think its acceptable... however I wonder why you don't do some sort of jump for 01:06:642 (2,3) - to emphasize the vocals?
01:15:100 (1,2,3) - Position 3 so it's also being blanketted by slider 1? Would improve the visual placement here. 192||275

Yea, i know it wasn't intended to be a blanket. But blanketting looks cleaner, structurally. Would appreciate a reason more related to why you wouldn't blanket there, basically.

I guess it's time to make it clear how I create my maps: try a Ctrl + J on 01:15:738 (3) - and tell me if it isn't blanketed this way. :arrow: That was my aim. This is my aim on my maps.
Obviously, I agree that maps have to look clean, but not full of blankets. That's boring af.

Yeah, it is. A personal one.
Try replacing those sliders with circles: that's how they have to be played and the player needs to read it while playing.

I think enough people have brought it up while modding that you really should consider changing it. I mean, 7 modders, 3 of which are BN's have pointed it out.
I got curious about this statement and I went checking all mods so far.
Mods received: 17 Mods in which people complained about that pattern: 6+3 (BNs included)
If I didn't miscalculated, only half of the modders complained about it, so I wonder how the "number" in this case might be a valid reason to consider it.
(should I mentioned that alacat didn't complain about it? You know, you brought up BNs, so...)

So, in the end, let me sum up what I have in mind (if I can)

What I don't really stand is the fact more and more mappers/modders try to restrict others' mapping to a basic and solid structure (I'm referring to sentences like "this should be used for this rhythm" and such). It's not bad, but I can't stand it.
There are tons of identical maps already (from my point of view, obviously) and I can't force myself to map that way. Call me stubborn, idiot, anti-ruler or whatever, but I can't.
The fact of using 1/2 sliders for that part of the song is one of those "boring" patterns I hate, not because they are wrong (nothing is wrong/right in art applicances) but because I'm full of seeing identical patterns on different maps. (90% of the maps are like that from what I saw, imo)
With this said, I would also like to point out how we are discussing about personal matters. Above all this pattern was by far my most cherished pattern in all the map.
Objectively, it has nothing which isn't unacceptable, and you agreed on it too in your first mod.

If this isn't really enough to explain myself, then idk (I probably didn't, but oh well...)
If it's really a problem for the ranking process I don't mind changing it, since it's not my mapset and I don't want to delay anymore a potential rank for Kisses, but since it's one of the patterns I most care about I would prefer avoid changing it.
I just want to remind you that it has nothing objectively "wrong" and it depends only on our mapping experience. Mapping is personal interpretation and I wanted to give to players something which is unusual but still plays nice if read correctly, that's all.


PS: imo I found more important matters which were worth discussing while rechecking my map, but I can't do much by myself since I would end up with similar, if not identical, patterns. That's also maybe why I don't care much about pixels lol
Since no one mentions them I think they are fine tho... I guess... I hope...

PPS: don't ever look at my mapsets. You'll probably rage even more lol

That totally wasn't the point, at least not for me when I complained as you can read from my mod. The point was more: if your "vocal sliders" don't even follow those vocals well, while also ignoring any other instrument they just feel wrong.

if you want to put more diverse rhythm maybe find songs(or at least spots in a song) that actually support them :v

That being said it's your map so it's your decision after all, just keep in mind that something that makes sense to you doesn't necessarily make sense to others. Like you might be able to see some logic behind those sliders, but if others can't then there might actually be something wrong.

Visual stuff is completely up to you, it's one of those things that is not needed to rank maps, or make maps that are "fine", but it can make them much better overall, just like advanced hitsounding, storyboarding, colorhax etc. (and often also makes people more likely to icon xd)
It's not about "blanketing everything" but more about giving a clean feeling by having actually equal rotational patterns, keeping visual spacing in mind etc.
