feel free to disagree with any suggestion! c:

General
  1. consider disabling the countdown? it's not extremely disturbing, but (imo) sounds better without countdown
  2. how about increasing hitsound volume in Kiai sections? the music gets louder so the hitsounds should be adjusted, I think

  • //note: each suggestion applies to copy-pasted parts, too!

  2. 00:34:330 (4) - both, rhythm and lyrics, would be better emphasized if you split this slider into circle + shorter slider (so the downbeat is clickable)
  3. 00:41:050 (4) - consider rotating this slightly (~45°) and moving it further down to match the previous movement better
  4. 00:53:050 (4) - works better with the beat if you remove the reverse and add a circle on the downbeat instead
    if you do that, don't forget to move the NC to the downbeat!
  5. 01:24:730 (1,2) - try two 1/1 slider instead? that'd emphasize the lyrics pretty nicely, because she stresses each word and atm you're ignoring the third one (cause long slider)
  6. 01:30:490 (3,4) - move the slider a little further down+right, the sliderborder is pretty close to the circle atm. looks untidy :c
  7. 01:49:690 (3) - the sliderend overlaps with the default HP bar, consider moving or rotating the slider to avoid that.
    usually that's not much of an issue, but because of the reverse arrow this might cause readability problems > better to avoid that
  8. 02:34:810 (2,3,4,5) - now this rhytm seems a little off. it's kinda unexpected and the 1/2 beats can be very confusing for beginners. especially because of the stack, it makes the pattern harder to read, so it might be better to unstack (4,5). (same goes for the following 1/2 stacks)

    (I deleted (2) and extended (1), then replaced the circles with a repeat-slider. the tick change shouldn't be a problem if the DS is consistent between the objects, because there is enought time to read the time-distance, even for newbies. also, I deleted the reverse of (5) and added another circle on the downbeat to emphasize it better (and moved the NC here, too).)
  9. 02:38:170 (1,2,3,4) - similar here, I'd prefer this rhythm for the same reasons as stated ^ - http://puu.sh/kZLfF.jpg
  10. 02:56:890 (1,2) - please curve (2) differently so it doesn't overlap with (1). causes confusion (and doesn't look good, imo. xD)

  11. 03:03:130 (4,1,2) - same here with (4) and (2). you can just move (2) further up to fix that
  12. 03:30:010 (4,1,2) - here it would be better to unstack (4) and (2), because it looks very confusing to beginner players. (2) clearly visible when they reach the end of (4) so they probably are overwhelmed by the amount of stuff going on. :/
  13. 03:34:330 (5) - last downbeat should be clickable, imo. consider removing the reverse and adding a circle?

  1. 00:35:530 (3,4) - leaving a break in-between feels a little weird while playing, cause the vocals are pretty strong.. I think it plays very nice if you delete (4) and add a reverse to (3), but I understand that you want to map the sound at 00:36:250 -. maybe you can turn (4) into a 1/2 slider?
  2. 00:41:050 (6) - there's a pretty strong beat on the first red tick, consider using this rhythm instead - http://puu.sh/kZM3R.jpg or http://puu.sh/kZM5d.jpg
    (first suggestion is easier to play, but the second emphasizes vocals better and it has the same sound clickable you mapped before)

  6. sidenote- you might want to change your NC pattern, because there are some long combos (example 03:31:210 (10) - ) which is a little too much in Normal (imo)

  1. overall note- some 1/4 are spaced with 0.6 DS and some with 0.3 DS which looks a bit confusing. I think the spacing of 1/4 beats shoud be consistent in a Hard diff, otherwise they _might_ be mistaken for 1/8. (it's unlikely, but still. xD)
  2. 00:16:090 (3,4) - is there any reason for a jump here? seems rather random to me. (except for symmetry maybe, but that's not really noticeable, cause slider vs circles..) I prefer standard DS here.
    if you want to keep the jump, there should be one here, too 00:18:010 (3,4) - cause it's the same rhythm
  3. 00:31:930 (4) - downbeat should be clickable, imo. remove the reverse and add a circle?
  4. 00:34:330 (6) - similar to ^. short slider + circle might work better
  5. 01:23:290 (3) - is this missing a reverse? cause there's a sound on the red tick afterwards
  6. 02:41:530 (1) - doesn't feel intuitive to play. :c and the sound the reverses emphasize is completely ignored with the following slider.. so I'd suggest removing the reverses and using a simple 4/4 (?) slider (this thing: http://puu.sh/kZNUV.jpg ).
  7. 02:45:370 (1) - same here as ^
  8. 02:49:330 (1) - the spinner should end earlier, imo. so the "and the world" vocals can be mapped just like before (01:54:490 (5,6,7) - and 00:45:610 (1,2,3) - )
  9. 03:34:810 (5) - as in Easy. remove reverse and add a circle on the downbeat?

00:25:210 (4) - the begin, you don't need whistle, you can see you diff normal, that don't have whistle, so if you wanna keep consistency, remove whistle

00:48:250 (3) - Another inconsistency as you style, this slider don't have normal on sampleset and soft on addition, but Diff Normal have, if you wanna keep consistency, add normal on sampleset and soft on addition this object
00:55:930 (2) - ^ same
00:59:770 (3) - I know there no vocal, but I feel the instrument is soo strong here, is make sense add whistle IMO
01:11:290 (3) - missing whistle
01:57:370 (3) - same happen before

My bigger problem is copy-paste of placement, would be nice if change placement, also the hitsound need improve expect Hard.
Normal and advance made by creator, that should be consistency. Example on Normal 01:05:530 (1) - on begin that addition is soft but on Advanced is auto, no only this part there more parts example and I can't find wich more correct for you. Try be more consistency Hitsound.

I will give star icon butt right now try get more opinion BN to look this map if is fine will bubble if is not, you will change placements and get more mods 3-4.

Fixed rest. Nerfed whistle and tried to consistent in evey diff. Let me ask more people for mod. Thanks for mod Pereira! :D

  1. 01:54:490 (4,1) - This overlap looks really bad in play, because it cover a little 01:55:450 (1) - start. Stack them or separe them completly.
  2. 03:00:730 - This strong beat should be clicked to emphasis the vocal, like you did on other kiai.
- Bathory & Perv's Hard :

  1. 02:33:850 (1,2) - I don't understand why you clearly skip vocal on 02:34:330 - / 02:36:010 - when you map it just after when the intensity is the same. Makes no sense.

[Hitsound :]
  1. Ok

The map is k, I won't say anything about copy-paste patterns since they're ofc not unrankable, BUT that's not because someone did it than that's the good example to follow. It was a style, but clearly more "diversity" on patterns is nice nowadays. So just don't be lazy for your next map and avoid copy-paste patterns.

Hard : 02:34:330 - what about this one ? Since you did it for 02:36:010 - would have more sense to do both. Also you totally broke the spacing between them.

About souce, I see the point but since the music have also it own clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpoIxKkJ1G4 with a different version (not movie ver.), I still think you should not put it into source. Ask a QAT about this before pushing this set futher.

After digging a little bit, I think it's fine to keep the movie as source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Like_%2 ... on_song%29
The song has been created for the movie and then, added in a new album release as bonus track.

For me, the source should be the movie/game/album which release the song for the first time so it makes sense here.

something something, dont justify your mapping based on old maps, something something...

Sure it's not unrankeable, but regarding the quality put in ranked maps this past year, you should be able to guess some sort of quality standard (or quality minimum) as an unwritten rule.

If this wasn't the case then i could just start mapping circles only on white ticks and call it an easy dif. Do the same with some circles on the red ticks, call it a normal and i got myself a "rankable" map. I bet this kind of map would be the most boring thing you could play but... 2007 mapping kinda made the same thing right /s ?

and btw pls dont compare copy pasting the EXACT SAME THING MULTIPLE TIMES (4-5 mb?) to fill in the same verse and the chorus, with "copy paste" styles of people like andrea.

This is ridiculous...

When a mapper maps something, there should be an intended experience that they want to provide for the player. This varies wildly depending on the mapper's personal investment into the song, how much they like it, and how much they understand it, but when you get right down to it, every single map from every single mapper has origins based in the thought process of "I want the player to feel like this while playing".

I can safely guess in this case it was "I want the players to fall asleep."



Because repeating the same thing over and over is a very effective lullaby.

We talked a bit ingame about general things. Now to get specific:

[Hard]

  1. 02:33:850 (1,1) - This is the calmest section of the song and the music is almost silent (there is only a few sounds), so I really don't think these slidershapes fit here. It would be better to go for something simple here, like curved sliders or wave sliders for example.
  2. 03:35:290 - Remove the Normal Finish, please. The music is fading here and there is no sound to support such a strong hitsound here. Same applies for the other diffs.
Yep, that's it already.

As I already said ingame, this map is filled with unique slidershapes one might argue they don't fit the music too well. However I think the concept is fine, especially for a first map, since the map is very simplistic otherwise.
