Hi, probably not until Monday. I'm running into some problems on the team making algorithm ^^ Yes this is going to be automated, partly for the coding experience, so there may be some issues.

Haha, we have mostly figured out the scheme for team making. It's just implementation now. We have got probably 50% of the stuff done, maybe a bit more. This has taken maybe 1 day? So yea, probably will make it in good time ^^

As of now Registrations have closed a few hours early due to the sudden amount of registrations we just receive and we are over our player limit of 192 players. Sorry if you wanted to join but can't. We might host another tournament in the future!

As of now this post is open for discussion of the tournament.

Everything including teams will be uploaded on Monday at the latest.
Thank you all who have registered and may luck be with you in the tournament!

Regarding the straw poll on whether to keep HR or not, aren't there more voters opposed to HR except for in the finals and grand finals if you bunch up the two options? I mean I'm sure people who want it removed completely would also be alright with it just in finals and grand finals compared to it being in all pools.

Also, good luck to everyone :) I'm sorry for those teamed with me if I anchor :'(

Regards to that, we did take it into consideration and only limited to one or two HR maps per pool until finals and grand finals. We are trying our very best to allow players to be able to still play HR and pass even if they have little to no experiences for the first few pools.

Okay no problem, cheers (Y)

Yea our idea is that if we only have 2 hr maps per pool until finals/grand finals at least, then realistically if you can't play HR you'd probably ban one and at the very most lose one point due to hr, which still leaves the rest of the pool up for grabs.

the tiebreaker is way too easy

92% acc with 5 misses, that doesn't mean it's easy. :P Also, maps are meant to be FCd in a tourney, or at least to an extent where accuracy plays importance. :)

The purpose of these easy maps early on is to test the players abiliy to full combo songs. As teams progress through the tournament, the map difficulty will slowly increase till the point where full comboing songs are near impossible for the rank range.
[ qBot ]
well you can mod on tie breaker right? so just hdhr and go :>

Is tiebreaker no mod or free mod?

will be there commentaries?

I like the management so far, hope the group stage can be played smoothly ;)

Yes. Sort of? It will be streamed and hopefully I and some other staff can do a good job of commentating. Bear in mind that this is our first tournament though, so we do lack the experience, admittedly.

All tiebreakers are freemod. You are welcome to mod the tiebreaker, but they are designed to be long consistancy maps and mods certainly don't help to that extent. Still, if you feel confident, you can try to mod it. Tournament conditions aren't as stress-free as single player, so we do expect to see a fair few random misses ^^

Thanks! we may have to get more people to ref for us though, since some of the staff are playing and they obviously can't ref themselves :P

As we've been getting some concern about the difficulty of the maps selected -- The map pools are intentionally easier for the first few rounds to allow participating players, of all ranks, to be able to pass the maps. They will gradually increase in difficulty as we progress through rounds, with the Grand Finals being ~5.4* as decided by the voting.

About the map pool I think that lack of lower AR - AR8 on no-mod or HD map pool is really regreatable it would test players ability to play lower AR's and would rise diversity of map pool I understand that AR9 on first round is expected but I hope to see more diverse map pool next round

AR8 was certainly considered when we were picking the map pools. (and yes, we play every single map that we pick. you can imagine how long the mappool took us to make x.x)

What ended up happening, though, was that the maps were either:

A: Old maps. They fit the difficulty range, but often is mapped like a turd.
B: Newer maps. They fit the difficulty range, but that apparently didn't stop them from being mapped like a turd :/
C: Solid maps. Those were considered, but ultimately they've been harder than the difficulty range required.

Also, bear in mind that we can only put a set number of maps in the pool, so even an ar8 map of acceptable quality may have been discarded in lieu of an ar9 map with better quality. I hope this is an acceptable answer for you.

There has been a time change in the schedules for both Group 1 and 2. Both groups have swapped times. I hope this schedule is fitting for everyone to play! If there is a problem with the times, please send a message to me and I will try to fix it.

The schedules are being extended by 2 addition hours on both days (UTC 11:00 - 16:00 and 18:00 - 23:00) due to the limited amount of staff that are available on the 19/20

Praw wrote:

That's up to the discretion of the refs. If both teams agree to it, I don't see why not.

Ok, it helps keep better acc for Doll Play, which doesn't have any percussion in the song.

imo 80% of the participants can't read ar~10 and aim cs 5.2 (and I'm in this list)

You're probably right. That's why we decided to make a poll for it. More people wanted to keep hr than not, so we adjusted it the best that we could by only leaving up 2 hr maps per pool until finals. Well, it'll probably get banned out quite a lot. We'll see.

Due to several problems which showed up involving the schedule, the staff has decided to revamp the schedules to best fit with timezones of all players. Please keep in mind that we cannot deal with all timezone problems since there is too many to manage. As for now it has been decided that players who cannot absolutely make it on time for their matches during the group stages will be excused. Keep in mind that if you are absent during the matches, you leave you team at a disadvantage. We do not encourage being late for matches but we do encourage you players to have a fun time during this tournament.
