Hello! M4M from #modreqs:Oh god, that's it. It ended up pretty long but it's mostly suggestions. The map set itself seems pretty much ready for ranking already. Good luck with it all and I look forward to your mod and maybe a bit of bubbly bub bub~
[General]
- For the ending of at least the harder difficulties, you have a lot of different ways to map that last pianoi making some of the maps have different ending points. Consider deciding on one way to end all the maps so you can unify the ending points.
- I also realized after modding the normal that it seems like almost every difficulty have copied hit sounds. I don't want to repeat myself ten times so I'll just say that I think there could be a couple of small changes that could make the hit sounding a bit more precise. Take that how you will because I think it also works as it is. Sorry...
EASY
- 00:13:855 (3) - This slider could be more interesting with some kind of curve.
- 00:19:709 (3) - This might just be me but I'm not a big fan of straight horizontal sliders. Moving the slider so the last part can point a bit upwards might be better. Also since you almost never do this through the difficulty, it seems out of place.
- 01:00:684 (1,1) - The same with these. They might look better with a bit more of an angle.
- 01:28:489 (3) - Why not follow the pattern from before with a clap on the repeat?
- 03:08:001 (4) - It might be better to just add the clap to this slider as well. That or put the drum-hitnormal on the heads of all the sliders in this section.
- 03:14:221 (1) - Add whistle to the slider end?
NORMAL
- 00:46:050 (1) - Extend this to 00:46:599 so you can get hit the vocal as well?
- 01:28:672 (2,3) - Adding some hitsounds to the sliderend and circle might be a good idea even if there isn't necessarily something there. It just feels too quiet right now.
- 02:14:221 (1) - I think claps would be more fitting on this slider.
- 03:08:001 (2) - Same as "EASY". This hitsound seems out of place.
- 03:14:587 - Same as "EASY" again.
- I can't really say more about the easy difficulties. I didn't see any problems gameplay-wise.
REGRAZ'S HARD
- 01:38:367 (3,4) - With stacking these seem to get just a little too close to each other. Consider moving them a bit.
- 01:44:221 - I see absolutely no reason as to why you wouldn't map this guitar part.
- 02:14:495 - It feels really weird with no object here since there's a really strong snare. Just placing a hitcircle might not be too good for a hard so consider adding a 3/4 slider instead of (2).
- 02:23:367 - I'd also like you to map the drums here. I understand that you want to start when the guitar starts but I think you could say the guitar actually starts with the drums (if that made sense).
SHARKIE'S INSANE
- 00:17:514 (5) - This slider shape... Having this much of an angle on a slider this little is almost always a bad idea.
- 00:24:648 - Add a circle or make (2) into a slider to follow the vocals and guitar like you do with the following sliders.
- 00:26:294 (3) - I think straightening this slider out just a bit and removing the overlap on 00:27:026 (1) would look much better.
- 00:31:965 (2,3) - Making this slider -> circle instead of circle -> slider might be better rhythm-wise.
- 00:40:745 - There's a very strong vocal here so having it on a slider end seems wrong.
- 00:41:660 (1) - Consider changing slider shape. It's weird going into it from the triple. Just putting the anchor point on the middle should do the job.
- 00:44:587 (1) - This slider choice seems bad. There's no sound at the blue tick but both vocal and snare on the red.
- 01:46:782 (3) - Move this towards the right to even out the spacing. Making it have the same spacing as 01:47:514 (1,2) would be nice.
- 01:50:075 (5) - Moving this down as well would probably also be good. Just a bit.
VINXIS' INSANE
- 00:00:685 - You're sure you don't want to map to the piano? This intro is really boring currently.
- 01:28:672 (2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6) - This stream seems like quite the overmap especially for an insane. Consider changing it to actually match the drums and making it a bit less spacy since this is a really calm part to begin with.
- 02:17:880 (5) - I think this would be better as two circles instead because of the strong vocal.
- 02:26:111 (1) - ... This couldn't just have been a slider? This is sort of a ninja spinner and I bet a lot of people aren't going to like it especially with hard rock. Consider changing.
Spinning doesn't exactly feel like the right movement for this either. It's just vocals... - 02:51:538 (3,3) - It doesn't look like these are any different from each other. I can see your pattern but you might want to make the change more apparent for these first two sliders.
- 03:01:050 (3,3) - Also the last two.
BEARIZM'S INSANE
- Are you sure you don't want to map the beginning? It just seems weird that the hardest insane has less drain time than the easy and normal.
- 00:38:916 - Changing the rhythm to emphasize this red tick might be better since there's both strong vocal and a bit of guitar.
- 01:31:416 (1) - Just a suggestion: Making a slow slider up until 01:32:148 might be cool.
- 01:43:489 - Map all of the piano notes?
- 01:56:294 (3,5) - NC here like in the first chorus?
- 02:14:495 - Changing the rhythm or pattern to emphasize the guitar here might be better. The current pattern seems too straightforward.
- 02:25:563 - Add break time?
-KEVINCELA-'S EXTRA
- 00:01:233 (2,3,4,5,6) - Oooh, bold rhythm choice.
- 00:23:733 (3,4) - I'm really not sure what's the right rhythm choice for this guitar part but I don't think it's 1/6. There's a clear 1/4 snare drum roll in the background though so changing it to 1/4 might be the safe choice.
- 00:47:331 (1) - Having some kind of change in this slider with a red anchor point at 00:48:245 might be more interesting but I do see the charm of the current pattern.
- 03:02:148 (3,4,5) - Shouldn't this be a perfect straight line with even spacing? It seems weird that it isn't...
FORT'S EXTRA
- 00:02:697 (2) - Make this into circle -> slider rhythm instead?
- 00:04:709 (3) - It also seems weird that you wouldn't emphasize the piano on the slider end here. Also because you do do it here: 00:10:745 (4).
- 00:11:294 (3,4,5) - With the way stacking works, this looks pretty weird. Consider just doing a custom stack.
- 00:17:331 (2) - Also because of auto stacking, this gets a little too close to 00:16:782 (1) which might not be what you want.
- 00:26:111 (2) - Random different sliderslide sound. Remove the whistle from the slider as a whole.
- 00:48:977 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - The spacing for these triangles might be too low. This is also the only time where you start out with the spacing being this low for this kind of section. Increasing the size of the triangles should do the job.
- 01:44:587 (1,2,3,4) - C'mon Fort. You can do something a little cooler for these!
- 02:06:538 - This is quite the spacing change compared to the rest of your difficulty but whatevs, probably.
- 02:14:495 (2) - Are you sure you want to skip the snare drums here?
- 02:29:587 (2) - Forgot a snare.
- 02:48:245 (1,2,1,2,3) - This spacing change seems really out of place. This is where the vocals get really intense and the snare hits every 1/1 beat and you just decide to go back to 1,2x spacing...
- 03:14:587 (11) - NC and probably also a 1/8 repeat slider instead to fit with the other difficulties.
BYFAR'S EXTRA
- 00:11:660 (3) - NC to signal slider change?
- 00:43:124 (1) - Make this a 1/2 slider instead? You might want to hit that guitar bit on the red tick in some way.
- 00:46:782 (2) - It seems weird that you'd have two NCs in a row but you might have your reasons.
- 00:59:953 (1) - NC?
- 01:11:660 (5,6) - You aren't going to do your SV thingy here?
- 01:20:806 (1) - I'm pretty sure that the rhythm here is 1/4 if anything. Listen for yourself.
- 01:22:636 (1,2) - You wouldn't rather have the slider heads on the snares?
- 01:38:002 (4) - Moving this down a bit to follow the slider shape more might look better.
- 01:42:392 (3,4) - I think following the vocals with hit circles here as well as making a triple at 01:42:575 might feel better. The current rhythm feels kind of bland.
- 01:44:587 (1,2) - Following the same direction when there's such a big change in tone doesn't feel right. Consider changing the pattern.
- 01:48:245 (5,6) - Just a note but I think you should keep doing the SV change thingy more for consistency. It's a really nice pattern and I see you forgetting it a quite often.
- 01:53:550 (2) - Have this be a 1/2 slider instead to hit the snare?
- 01:57:026 (5) - NC? If you want a reason for this, I guess it's because there's a change in the sound of the vocal. Also, the other diffs does it...
- 02:46:599 (1) - It doesn't feel right to skip the downbeat. Consider changing.
FOREVER
- 00:15:867 (4) - I think the change in tone happens here so changing the position of this note might add a bit to the pattern.
- 00:21:721 (4) - ^
- 00:23:184 (4,5,6) - The auto stacking makes this linear pattern look kind of awkward. Consider just changing the pattern.
- 00:24:099 - This might be unnecessary but mapping a bit more than just the bass drums might be nice considering that this is the hardest difficulty...
- 00:34:983 (4,5) - I think making these different from 00:34:617 (2,3) would be nice since (3) is a snare and (5) is a bass drum. Stacking (4) on (5) might work.
- 01:07:636 (1,2,3,4,5) - This spacing is a lot lower than your usual jump spacing so changing might be nice. The pattern as a whole could also be better in my opinion with the end of (5) almost hitting (3) among other things.
- 01:12:941 (4) - I think it works better here since there's a bit of variety in the pattern.
- 01:30:593 (6,7) - ^
- 01:30:867 (1,2,3) - Just a suggestion: Changing the order of the last two sliders might be nice but it might also ruin the flow into 01:31:416 (1). I don't know if you'd want to change it I just like that kind of pattern...
- 01:42:757 (3) - Make a triple on top of (3) and maybe add a circle at 01:42:941. It might make the rhythm a bit more interesting.
- 01:54:831 (1) - Seems like a weird place to do a 3/4 slider since there's clear vocal on the red tick.
- 02:06:172 (1,2,3,4,1) - Just making the slider head follow the stream might flow and look better. It'd be similar to 02:14:953 (1,2,3,4,5).
- 02:15:684 - Same as with the beginning but I do kind of like the pattern here. Your choice to make.
- 02:23:276 (1,2,3,4) - It might be hard to get that it's four notes if it's a stack especially with hidden mod. Consider changing placement.
- 02:32:697 (4) - Moving this up might flow better.
- 03:08:001 (6) - I just understood why the drum-hitfinish doesn't make sense in the other difficulties... Because it only makes sense on this difficulty. Consider changing this note into a clap on the other difficulties.
- 03:14:587 (1) - Also as mentioned in the "general" part, consider making having the same end for at least all the harder diffs. I'd also recommend the soft-hitwhistle for the end here.
