Alternatively, play multiplayer. Usually, the players on multiplayer have great taste in beatmaps. Usually.
Pretty much all of the beatmaps you play are going to be mapped as generic pieces of shit until you improve to the point of at least being able to play hards so just download a bunch of maps that have music you enjoy, play them a few times each, rinse repeat. Don't expect to be playing insanes for a few months. Hards are where you'll actually start to learn/refine a lot of the basics so expect improvement to slow dramatically when you get to that point.

check out the object count in songs, more objects = nicer mapping usually
