Now that I'm thinking about it, it's not really hate against Magical Girl, it's one in particular, Sailor Moon, there's a long story with my sister that made me dislike this anime like Hell, but when I though back about it, I like some Magical Girl anime, like let's say Cardcaptor Sakura, I know it's weird for a guy but hey, nostalgia xD , otherwise I haven't seen enough to make a real judgement on it, I just didn't found a third genre I dislike and though about sailor moon so that's the first thing that popped in my head !Green Platinum wrote:

Idk why that is spoilered. Is Nanoha really a magical girl when it is science that made her that way?YOGURTOVSKY wrote:
Mahou Shoujo I scorned it before I even watched Nanoha or CCS. Sailor Moon remake is shit tho.
Yes. It's stated that the technology used is "magic".Green Platinum wrote:

Wasn't the remnants of the ancient-belkian civilisation? It does seem odd however that they are able to perform maintenance and modify devices from long extinct civilisations though.YOGURTOVSKY wrote:

The devices are the tech, yes, but magic itself isn't exactly that. Magic can be performed without devices and it's just giving shape to mana that mages have inside their bodies. Device acts as an amplifier of sorts that speeds up the process of executing spells.Green Platinum wrote:

I'd like to see some reasoning behind peoples choices. I'd like to try and recommend stuff that will change peoples perceptions about their hated genres especially but I think this is more a comment once and never return thread.
Reasoning is:XenoMortem wrote:

I find the best Mecha show are the ones that ultimately distract you from being a mecha show since conventional series rely on you treating the machines as characters rather than tools. Like Gurren Lagann, Suisei no Gargantia and Daimdaler they all use mecha as a means of storytelling rather than the purpose. Evangelion while I'm not too much of a fan it has it's popularity and deserves a mention.XenoMortem wrote:
Reasoning is:
-Mecha: overall because I have problem with fighting anime and also never really liked the transformer kind of anime, and Mecha anime is mostly around thoses elements.
-Harem: because I love Romance Anime, and most of the time, harem aren't conclusive and when they are, it isn't really satisfying
-Magical Girl: Is mostly target hate, like all Magical Girl anime I've seen, I've hated it, with the exception of Cardcaptor Sakura, maybe if I would get some good recommendations, this opinion would change.
Must really hate Chihayafuru for being all of them at onceao_kancolle wrote:

I think you might be right... I have watched Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi but I dislike it. I more likely meant BL elements mixed with other genres, which is not really a genre on its own then but w/e.Green Platinum wrote:
