Indeed it is :D

Testing out Cutting-Edge right now. It's pretty much fine for everything, except for one: Long times of keeping osu! hidden away with the Insert button will cause lag or crashes. It may seem strange, but I'm a fan of keeping my osu! in that state instead of exiting out of it. I do it for many reasons, but I'm not gonna put it here.

I've already tested, prolonged times of hiding osu! will cause lag before loading, or just crashes. The "offset meter" (the one on the bottom right, with the ms value) turns red at 200ms lag for a few seconds, after hiding osu! for around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Not sure what the new so called 60Hz in the fps counter means.
When I had unlimited frame limiter on it only shows 60Hz and significantly laggy experience?
even 120fps option was better, whats going on?
also is the ms metre at the bottom showing the ping?

Still didn't answer my question :/
laggier while on unlimited? so do I keep it on 240fps to avoid it or what?
Also I still dont get what the ms is, is it how many framse in a ms?
BeatBreakerS
not sure why its lagging on high FPS maybe memory issue ?
as for the MS, from what i understand it represents the time taken to Render a Single frame

When flicking through the beatmap list, the background from the previous map can sometimes stick.

This has to be related to your setup then. Current beta build is the same as cutting edge was 2 days ago.

In cutting-edge under wine, since the most recent update to cutting edge, selecting a song in the song list crashes the game. It gets stuck on about 38% CPU, is completely unresponsive (and doesn't redraw), and doesn't play any sound. Also, nothing is printed to the console and no error dialog appears.

This did not happen in yesterday's version(s) or any previous version, and happens every time without fail in this version.
peppy
Can you provide the wine debug log?

I found a small bug in the latest Cutting, 20150906.1, not sure if all the time, but when i quit out of a song, it doesn't play the music from the point i quit from, it goes to the preview point. I know this isn't major but it really bugs me
Score_Under
The debug log is quite large. I ended up capturing it with these parameters:

WINEDEBUG=+all,-snoop,-heap,-reg,-opengl

Here's a gzip of the last 10,000 lines of the debug log: https://d.maxfile.ro/rsxgdtipfb.gz
All of those lines were printed while Osu was unresponsive.

This is intended. Please read the changelog.

2 issues related to the performance/health graph on the results screen:

1. Sometimes when leaving osu! unfocused when watching a replay and focusing it again after the replay has ended the graph won't draw properly.I'm using fullscreen+letterboxing and minimize my game by pressing the windows key and opening another window on top of it. It doesn't always seem to happen though. So far I've actually never replicated this when trying to replicate it, but have had it numerous times when I was just busy with other stuffNo, the graph doesn't draw any further, it just shows a slight portion of it and stays like that instead.
Sometimes that portion is drawn outside of the actual box, to the left of it instead.

2. After the end of a multiplaying match, if you click someone's name on the results screen their graph won't draw.
You can get it to 'magically pop up' by scrolling the results screen though.
(I don't have a screenshot of this saved.)

edit:
Unrelated, but I've noticed that songs spend most of their loading time reporting "sleep" in the timing graph. Is that normal?

Yes, that's normal. osu!'s main thread is sleeping so that osu! only fills your screen's refresh rate during load so that more work can be spent actually loading the map during those sleeps.

If you say that because of the vertical alignment, it is gonna be fixed in the future.

Do you have background processes or something that could be affecting the performance? Does it happen if you play after booting your PC?

unable to take a screenshot of this as it happens very quickly

osu! version: 20150907.12cuttingedge
Merged to Cutting Edge thread. Try to use this thread for Cutting Edge issues, please.

Do you have background processes or something that could be affecting the performance? Does it happen if you play after booting your PC?

No background processes running, and it still happens. I tried playing when I started and it still happened

Is the issue fixed on cutting edge now?
It is indeed, thank you!

Still experiencing huge fps drops on cuttingedge using letterboxing after alt tabbing.

Edit : Issue is caused by using classic interface. Working just fine on the aero windows 7 theme.

I noticed that the Auto-mod would occasionally turn itself on, haven't tried to replicate it yet.

If you hold "Ctrl + A" it activates auto-mod without needing to open the mod selection screen. It is practically the same as "Ctrl + Enter" but you won't get thrown into the auto replay immediately.

Just a few questions regarding new UI fonts:

1. Will the sprites become skinnable or stay locked?

2. Why are the inputoverlay key number sprites currently black? Will these become also skinnable or will we be able to color them through the skin.ini?
I didn't design my inputoverlay for black numbers and it looks bad.

I don't know if this has already been reported, but skins using hitcircle-1, hitcircle-2 etc are seems to be incorrect loaded:
http://puu.sh/k3JeJ/0c60969da6.jpg and http://puu.sh/k3JUT/432700bbea.jpg

Every "1" of combo is ok, but then there's no hitcircle's sprite at all.

The skin: t/332716?hilit=spectrum

I've used yesterday's build of osu and it worked ok.

..Or is it just me?

Issue(s) in this thread have been addressed by the following changes:
  1. Fix score entry font alignment. (peppy)
  2. Change the way passing status is handled in scoreboard entries to avoid showing [Failed] multiple times. (peppy)
The changes will be applied to builds newer than b20150908cuttingedge.

Please follow up in this thread if you believe more work needs to be done to fix the mentioned issues. If they have not yet been resolved, please provide any new details that may have arisen after this build.

Missing numbers on hitcircles.
Found and reproducable on latest cutting edge build, haven't tried it in stable.

So after playing this beatmap (https://osu.ppy.sh/b/22178 ), which looks like this:
the numbers are missing on any other beatmaps that use the default skin:
peppy
Are you using a custom skin or something? I can't seem to replicate this.

Seems like osu! fails to load the default and score numbers, after playing with the custom skin of that beatmap. (Default numbers on the beatmap skin are blank.)

Problem Details:

When starting the osu! client, it crashes when trying to maximize. I noticed this doesn't happen after I enter the options.

Hi all,
As I mentioned on peppy's blog, I'm getting frame drops during song selection with the last few cuttingedge builds.
If I restart osu!, 4 in 5 times it will lag during song select, but occasionally it's fine. I've also noticed a few times that scrolling through the songs for a minute or so can *sometimes* fix it.

Video examples:
Choppy: http://puu.sh/k40GA/8f6a39def3.mkv
Smooth: http://puu.sh/k40HD/313ded7cf9.mkv

Specs:
Core i7-3770K
16GB RAM
GeForce GTX 670 4GB
Win 8 Pro 64-bit (not 8.1)
Running osu! directly from an SSD, so it's usually silky smooth.

I can attach a dxdiag if it helps.

Thanks,
Samah

Edit:
Just noticed that it does it when the options panel is first displayed, and if I toggle the user list back and forth (F9).

Edit2:
Also getting the occasionally spike during gameplay that I didn't notice before.

Can replicate it. Merged the thread to the Cutting Edge thread, since this error only appears on Cutting Edge.

Markie, next time try to use this thread if you want to report problems that only affect Cutting Edge. Thanks :P
