Rules

These are subject to change before the tournament starts.

General Rules

The tournament will consist of 1v1 matches.
Each match, your multiplayer room will consist of one referee.
You can choose any map pertaining to the round itself.
You cannot choose a map that has already been picked.
Match scheduling will be heavily regulated by the tournament staff.
Failure to show up at the agreed time will result in a loss.
Subsequent failures to show up for matches will result in disqualification.
Selection of mod-specific brackets is limited. Each player can only select one map from each mod-restricted bracket during match. This means that each player can pick 1 HardRock, 1 Hidden and 1 DoubleTime map during the match.
Selection of mod-inspecific brackets is unlimited. This means that each player can pick any & all no-mod/free-mod maps.
Tiebreaker maps will allow freemod.
Respect the tournament staff, your fellow competitors, and yourselves enough to put forth your absolute best effort.

Group Stage

Round-robin bo7 matches
Default seeding based on Performance Points (PP)
4 groups of 4 players
Overall ties are settled by Games Won (GW) - Games Lost (GL)
Bottom player from each group is eliminated
Top player from each group skips first round of the Playoffs

Playoffs

Double Elimination
A player that loses in the Upper Bracket drops to the Lower Bracket
A player that loses in the Lower Bracket is eliminated
Top player from each group in the Group Stage skips first round of the Playoffs
Upper & Lower Bracket Finalists compete in the Grand Finals
Upper Bracket Finalist Winner will have their choice of first pick for both warm-ups and the match itself.
Semi-finals are bo9
Finals are bo11

Referee Guide

Create the room with the appropriate Match title.
Save the link to the multiplayer history.
Set the match to Team Vs mode.
Remain host during all map picks (excluding warmups if necessary) and use the multiplayer chat to take each player's requests.
Do not skip the intro and do not participate in the match.
Screenshot (Shift+F12) the results of each match.
Create a post containing the match title, history, and screenshots afterwards.

Also, a Canadian tournament could very well be 32 people since everyone so close. It's not like I'm gonna be the only one missing.

Actually, given the trouble it was to find 16 players from the top 30 that weren't on vacation, quitting, or already quit, I highly doubt a decent 32 person tourney could happen. Not during summer anyway.

Well, theres good player below top 30 too. It would be nice to see how those player perform in a tournament and it might be a good way to prepare them for the future.

But yeah, it's a shame not everyone can atm, it would be quite entertaining.

This is entirely not what I was talking about. Of course there are players below the top 30 that are good. I was saying that to find 16 players just from the top 30 was difficult, moving on to 32 would just continue to be more hassle. Further, there's time constraints that under consideration when coming up with the size and the format of the tournament. 16 for this tournament at this time, is the size that makes the most sense.

Map pack is in the same format that NAT was, with split out difficulties for each map, which is what the matches will be played on.

Let me know if there are any issues with map pack importing.

So you gather people in top 30 from Canada which are probably rank higher 1000 and give them mappool easily FC by 3k rankers.
