Mod requested in #ctb - this map isn't bad for a first attempt, shame it's not had any attention for so long o_O

General Comments:
  1. Song Folder: No issues
  2. Song Setup: You can disable Letterbox during breaks for all diffs, l since there are no breaks lol. Also, minor point, but combo colours 1 and 2 are quite similar, so consider making (2) into a darker shade of purple maybe?
  3. Metadata: Most Touhou songs now use "東方Project" as the source, and put "Touhou" in the tags
  4. Timing: First note is at 00:01:878 so move the offset here. This will ensure that you're using the downbeat and upbeat properly (and makes it much easier for us modders to spot things like NC inconsistencies, hitsounding, etc. ^^). Also, add another timing point at 01:01:443 with the same BPM, etc. since the start of the kiai should really be on a downbeat (this will be the case if you followed my suggestion above) - it wont affect any note snapping, so you wont need to redo anything
  5. Hitsounds: soft-hitclaps are really quiet compared to the other hitsounds, consider swapping this out for something else, or making it slightly louder (if you need help with this, let me know)
  6. AImod: No issues
Difficulty-Specific Comments:
Cup
00:17:964 - Since the bpm and slider velocity aren't too high, you can afford to space these sliders out a little more. As it is, there's not a lot of movement required to reach the next one on each time, and it doesn't flow as well as it could do. Also, to add some variety, you could try angling your sliders differently (so they aren't all the same)
00:35:356 (3,1) - Swap the NC on these two to prevent the combo from becoming too long - don't forget that repeats and slider tails count as extra fruits on the plate, and these can stack up, obscuring the player's view
00:38:182 (3) - Move this further to the left, somewhere like x-40 to create a little movement here
00:42:313 (3) - NC here to keep combo length down, and then consider removing the last repeat here and adding a circle in it's place - you can place this at somewhere like x-408 to create two small "jumps" to emphasise the prominent vocal notes
00:47:747 (5) - NC here again to keep combo length down
00:53:182 - You can increase the spacing a little bit more here as well, since you're building up to the kiai. Since the music gets progressively louder, you may want to increase the spacing in successive measures to match this
00:57:965 (7) - NC here for combo length, and *maybe* also at 00:57:095 (4) - if you feel it fits and/or if you plan to increase the spacing significantly here (remember to avoid dashes though)
01:01:443 - As before really, the jumps here feel really "safe" - this is the kiai, so you can afford to use slightly more spacing and mix up your patterns a little more
01:19:704 (2,3) - Strong vocal note at the head of (3), so space these a little to emphasise that
01:26:660 (5) - NC here, especially if you plan to add any more movement
01:27:747 (1) - I feel this spinner should end on the white tick at 01:33:617 as this is where the song completely fades out. Also, you can change the hitsound volume here to 5% since the cymbal sound on the spinner end sounds weird with no music in the background to correspond to (make sure to do this for the other diffs too)

Salad
I actually quite like this diff - my only real complaint is that some parts are too repetitive, such as 00:17:965 to 00:29:921 which is just the same pattern of sliders and the occasional 1/4 circle moving from side to side. If you want to use the same timeline, you need to vary the orientation and vice versa to make it interesting like you've done at 01:01:443

00:48:834 (2) - Ctrl+H and Ctrl+G this to create a slightly different symmetrical pattern with better flow during the jump - currently it feels "inverted" since the two sliders end up pointing away from each other
00:51:878 (4) - Try curving this slider like you've done previously to make it more interesting
01:06:660 (5,1) - Swap NC here for the downbeat
01:09:486 (1,4) - ^ and at 01:15:356 (5,1) - 01:16:987 (1,2) - 01:18:726 (1,2)
01:20:573 - More horizontal sliders back to back, try angling or spacing these differently for variety
01:20:573 (5,1) - Swap NC here for the downbeat
01:22:313 (4,1) - ^ and also at 01:24:052 (4,1)

Platter
As in the previous diffs, check to make sure your NC usage is consistent - try to ensure you NC on every other downbeat (since you can afford to have longer combos in Platter diffs) unless there are any epsecially prominent notes you want to emphasise

00:19:595 (1) - This note is kinda awkward to catch for a Platter given the 1/4 spacing, and becomes quite tricky when you se this pattern repeatedly. I'd reduced the spacing a *tiny* bit here (since you don't want to make it too easy - try moving it 4 or 8 pixels close to the slider (same applies to 00:21:334 (1) - 00:23:073 (1) - etc.)
00:31:008 (9) - NC here to prevent the combo from becoming too long
00:34:704 (6) - Ctrl+G this for better flow
00:56:226 (1) - Move this to the right, say x-72 to avoid a tricky timing jump
00:57:095 (1) - ^ But move to the left, x-440
01:05:791 (3,5,7) - Move to x-328 to make this symmetrical, and also reduce the jump distance slightly (when repeated, it's kinda annoying)
01:19:921 (2,4) - ^ Move these to the left slightly, x-400

Well for a first map, this was actually really good! Hopefully I've given you some ideas to work with, but if there's anything I didn't explain properly or you need anything else from me, please don't hesitate to ask and I'll do what I can to help. We were all new mappers once and CtB needs more mappers! ^^

I'd be more than happy to have another look at this after you've got some more mods and improved the set further, so until then, best of luck! (:

I prefer when the gap between each diff is 1+ so i would recomend you look through Platter and find stuff you would like to buff, it is a really great map but 0.85 is not really enough of a gap imo.

Sorry about the queue things.

Responding to request in my modding queue, but also modding as part of the

Cup
General: AR should be equal to OD. Change AR to 5 or OD to 6.
00:43:617 (3) - Would reduce the distance on this a bit to fit the overall theme of how easy this cup is. move to x:368?
Nice cup

Salad
00:31:226 (3) - Remove NC here?
01:26:660 (1) - Feel like the dash to this is a bit much, really consider changing this
Really like the flow on the salad. Great job.

Platter
00:27:530 (5) - would suggest changing the pattern leading up to the hyper here but it seems fine as is
Really like this platter. the style is very impressive to me :D

Hope my mod was helpful :D

Heya~

[platter]
  1. 00:14:052 (3) –move to 120?
  2. 00:27:530 (5,6,7) –this consecutive hyper dash is not pleasant for play. Move 00:27:965 (7) – to 336, or somewhere closer to (6).
  3. 00:24:703 (6,7) –ctrl+G so that hyperdash is on 00:24:921 - , where the strong emphasis of the beat is.
  4. 00:24:052 (4,5) –ctrl G for better rhythm
  5. 00:36:008 (4) –hyperdash doesn’t seem suitable here
  6. 00:37:747 (4) - try this rhythm: http://puu.sh/i83Xr.jpg
  7. 00:39:052 (2) –if you applied the very previous mod, add hyperdash here and not at 00:39:487 (4) -, just like you did so in 00:40:573 (1) -
  8. 00:44:921 (6) –ctrl G
  9. 00:53:182 (2) –move to 184 for better flow
  10. 00:59:704 (1,2,3) –distance could get increased a bit more.
  11. 01:09:487 (1,2) –jump seems small, so ctrl+H 01:09:487 (1,2) – and then ctrl+G?
  12. 01:09:921 (2,3,4) –01:07:313 (4,5,6) - 01:11:660 (4,5,6,1,2,3) - I think you could use better patterns like 01:27:313 (4,5,6) -

[Salad]
  1. 00:14:051 (3) –move to 352
  2. 00:41:226 (6) –move to 288
  3. 00:52:965 (1,2,3,4) –ctrl+H
  4. 01:27:530 (6) –move to 232

[cup]
  1. 00:07:095 (3) –ctrl+ G
  2. 00:33:617 (2) –ctrl+ G
  3. 00:35:356 (1) –00:40:573 (2) - 00:43:181 (2,3) - ctrl+G
  4. 00:57:095 (4,5,6) -00:57:965 (1,2,3) –switch places, so 4,5,6 to where 1,2,3 are, and so on.
  5. 01:26:443 (4,1) – increase distance in between!

That is all I could find. Good luck, and thanks for modding my map :)

Hi hawkowl o3o/

Cup

00:04:921 (4,1) - This circle and slider are too close and not a good idea for a Cup. My advice is to move 4 at x: 271 and 1 at x: 391
00:08:834 (1) - You could better use the timeline in this part, try something like --> http://puu.sh/iIuz4/c9d2cb16f8.jpg. Remove the reverse of the slider and move a 00: 09: 269 - and then add two circles in 00: 08: 834 - and 00: 09: 051 -. You could try this pattern --> http://puu.sh/iIuGW/b11f66db9f.jpg don't forget accommodate hitsounds, NC and the following notes.
00:10:573 (3) - You could do something similar to the previous
00:17:965 (1,2,3) - You need more distance ; _ ; try this --> http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3325589 are separated 1,30 away each as 00:20:573 (4) - Here there should be a small jump because there is beat strong
00:21:443 (1) - Ctrl+G maybe
00:24:052 (4) - Move at x: 359 and accommodate the following note
00:28:834 (1) - Move at x: 428 to generate some more movement
00:37:095 (2) - Move at x: 321 to separate a little notes and be more consistent between one and another
00:42:313 (1) - Ctrl+G definitely ._.
00:44:921 (2,1,2) - oh noooooooooooo ;_; You have to generate more movement from here, move 00:44:921 (2) - at x: 10 and (1) at x: 245
00:46:878 (3) - Move at x: 454
00:47:747 (1) - Move at x: 401
00:48:617 (3,4) - Move (3) at x: 303 and (4) Ctrl+H and move at x: 225
00:56:226 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3) - Try this pattern --> https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3325664 The pattern you have is currently very boring, imo
00:59:704 (1,2,3) - More distance? I love this part XD

Kiai time: Honestly it's very boring, full of sliders and some other circle separated at 1,20x.
01:08:834 - , 01:11:008 - , 01:11:877 - , 01:13:617 - , 01:15:356 - , 01:22:747 - ,01:23:182 - , 01:24:921 - 01:25:791 - , Mentioned sections should include a finish as hitsounds in my opnion, also must have greater distances to the rest of the map as you are in the kiai time and this part should be "special". Keep in mind that the patterns still need to be FC'able without any dash.

Salad

Difficulty: CS: 3,5 To get a better spread between one diff and other or maybe you should move the CS of Cup 2.
Combo: This Salad has many notes, given that the Cup has 201 and the Platter includes 391 of combo I think you should have around 296 of combo in Salad to make it more coherent and consistent with other diffs.

Given that I do not know which notes will eliminate, I'll pass this difficulty once you've done that you can call and only mod this diff

Platter

00:05:356 (5) - Make this slider completely straight (or vertical) and move at x: 352
00:19:595 (1) - Too uncomfortable to play in the place that is, consider move at x: 400
00:21:334 (1) - ^ x: 464
00:27:421 (4) - Move at x: 80, urgent!!!
00:27:965 (7) - Make this slider completely horizontal to separate it from the next slider
00:31:878 (1) - Move the tail of the slider to the right until it is horizontal, I never liked this kind of sliders ;;
00:32:530 (2,3,1) - We must stabilize the distances. Move (2) at x: 116, (3) at x: 216 and (1) x: 344
00:34:704 (6) - Move at x: 456 to generate some more movement
01:26:878 (2) - Move at x: 476 ^
01:27:313 (4,5,6) - You could move this triplet to the left for better flow

Kiai time: Add same finish I said in Cup and adds jumps and HDashes in those sections

Good luck with the rank owo

Cup

00:04:921 (4,1) - This circle and slider are too close and not a good idea for a Cup. My advice is to move 4 at x: 271 and 1 at x: 391 Sounds good
00:08:834 (1) - You could better use the timeline in this part, try something like --> http://puu.sh/iIuz4/c9d2cb16f8.jpg. Good Idea
00:10:573 (3) - You could do something similar to the previous Makes Sense
00:17:965 (1,2,3) - You need more distance ; _ ; try this --> http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3325589 are separated 1,30 away each as 00:20:573 (4) - Here there should be a small jump because there is beat strong All right
00:21:443 (1) - Ctrl+G maybe Done
00:24:052 (4) - Move at x: 359 and accommodate the following note Done
00:28:834 (1) - Move at x: 428 to generate some more movementDone
00:37:095 (2) - Move at x: 321 to separate a little notes and be more consistent between one and another Done
00:42:313 (1) - Ctrl+G definitely ._. Done
00:44:921 (2,1,2) - oh noooooooooooo ;_; You have to generate more movement from here, move 00:44:921 (2) - at x: 10 and (1) at x: 245 Makes sense
00:46:878 (3) - Move at x: 454 Done
00:47:747 (1) - Move at x: 401 Done
00:48:617 (3,4) - Move (3) at x: 303 and (4) Ctrl+H and move at x: 225 Done
00:56:226 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3) - Try this pattern --> https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3325664 The pattern you have is currently very boring, imo Good Idea
00:59:704 (1,2,3) - More distance? I love this part XD Done

I'll see what I can do Edit: I used the same timeline, but changed the angles and distances of the objects to make it more difficult.

Salad

Difficulty: CS: 3,5 To get a better spread between one diff and other or maybe you should move the CS of Cup 2. Sounds Good
Combo: This Salad has many notes, given that the Cup has 201 and the Platter includes 391 of combo I think you should have around 296 of combo in Salad to make it more coherent and consistent with other diffs. I'll think about it

Given that I do not know which notes will eliminate, I'll pass this difficulty once you've done that you can call and only mod this diff

Platter

00:05:356 (5) - Make this slider completely straight (or vertical) and move at x: 352 Done
00:19:595 (1) - Too uncomfortable to play in the place that is, consider move at x: 400 All right
00:21:334 (1) - ^ x: 464 All right
00:27:421 (4) - Move at x: 80, urgent!!! Done
00:27:965 (7) - Make this slider completely horizontal to separate it from the next slider Done
00:31:878 (1) - Move the tail of the slider to the right until it is horizontal, I never liked this kind of sliders ;; Done
00:32:530 (2,3,1) - We must stabilize the distances. Move (2) at x: 116, (3) at x: 216 and (1) x: 344 Done
00:34:704 (6) - Move at x: 456 to generate some more movement Done
01:26:878 (2) - Move at x: 476 ^ Done
01:27:313 (4,5,6) - You could move this triplet to the left for better flow Done

Kiai time: Add same finish I said in Cup and adds jumps and HDashes in those sections Done

Good luck with the rank owo Thank you very much!

  1. I am unsure whether it is 東方Project or Touhou, maybe there needs further checking on that.

    Design
  2. Remove Letterbox during Breaks throughout all your diffs. Your diffs do not contain any breaks or any storyboard which is capable to do so.
  3. Untick Widescreen Support in Salad and Platter.

    Background Image
  4. It is more recommended to have the background image with a resolution of 1366x768.

    Notes
  5. 00:11:660 - Remove this note because it is not in audio, or you can just add a silent sound here.

[ Cup]

  • Difficulty
  1. Increase HP to 4 in order to have gradual HP change between Cup, Salad and Platter (4, 5, 6).

    Gameplay
  2. 00:14:487 (1,1) - Shorten the spinner to have 2/1 timeline distance please, in order to give preparation time for the players to catch up after the spinner easily. Remember that Cup is for beginner players so it should be easy to go.
  3. 00:30:139 (1,1) - Though shortening spinner will do, but it is not so advisable because the spinner will be so short. I will suggest mapping the spinner with notes instead. You can try *this.
  4. 00:37:747 (1,2) - This feels offbeat. Move (2) to 00:38:399 will do.
  5. 00:56:225 - 00:58:834 - This part might be too hard for beginner players to read, since the timeline distances are not even in some places (3/4 distance and 1/2 distance). Therefore I suggest changing the circles into sliders, maybe you can check *this out.
  6. 01:07:530 - 01:08:182 - Maybe you have to change this to 1/2 patterns like you did later at 01:19:704 (2) for consistency. Or vice versa you can just change the 1/2 reversed slider to 1/1 patterns. It is up to you.
  7. 01:25:791 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5) - More movements should be used here in my opinion, and most likely a curve will suit here. You can follow *this for some movements or another pattern you like.

    Hitsounds
  8. 00:12:313 (1) - Remove the Whistle at the reverse part because it doesn't match the audio. (Or maybe it is timing problem here I think?)

[ Salad]

  • Gameplay
  1. 00:01:878 - 00:14:486 - Feels a bit strange with 1/2 patterns, which is not fitting the audio background I think. I highly recommend to remap this part with simpler pattern before spinner.
  2. 00:04:269 (4) - This feels offbeat, you should remap this slider in my opinion.
  3. 00:11:008 (3,4) - This don't feel so good with a dash.
  4. 00:21:008 (7,1,2) - The gap is quite awkward. A possible solution would be having even distance between the notes here.
  5. 00:25:138 (9,1) - Lower the distance here because it doesn't feel like a dash here.
  6. 00:31:769 (8,1) - Here should fit a little dash to emphasize the stanza change.
  7. 00:30:791 (7,8,1,2,3,4) - Quite static in movements here, I advise changing this part, or remap the whole stream.
  8. 00:31:878 (1) - Static movement.
  9. 00:49:269 (1,2) - Move (2) a bit to the left in order to create a curved movement here.
  10. 00:51:008 (1,2) - Better move (2) away from (1) because it is static right here.
  11. 01:11:660 (5,6,1) - Reduce the distance of (6,1), the gap is a bit large in my opinion.
  12. 01:24:052 (2,3,4,5) - Quite annoying to catch because of a dash at (2,3) and a large dash at (3,4). Better change this part, perhaps reducing distances will do. Also it is suggested to remove the dash at (2,3) because it is not so necessary here.
  13. 01:26:443 (5,6,1) - Weird distance of (6,1) that I would suggest moving (1) closer to (5,6).
  14. 01:27:313 (4,5,6) - Same as above but it is not so advisable to have a 1/4-distanced dash in a Salad, that won't be so nice. I suggest moving (6) closer to (4,5) and remove the dash instead.

[ Platter]

  • Gameplay
  1. 00:06:878 (4,1,2,3) - Remove the HDash at (4,1), it is not necessary at this moment because HDash should be implemented when the audio is in strong beat. Also distances of (1,2,3) can be lowered, it feels too large here which holding HDash will do.
  2. 00:13:182 (2,3) - Now here suits a HDash because (3) is in strong beat.
  3. 00:20:573 (4,5) - Remove the HDash.
  4. 00:24:052 (4,5) - ^
  5. 00:24:268 (5,6) - ^
  6. 00:25:139 (7,1) - You may move (1) a bit closer to (7) for easier movements.
  7. 00:27:530 (5,6) - Remove HDash.
  8. 00:27:965 (7,1) - Add HDash?
  9. 00:31:769 (8,1) - ^
  10. 00:35:139 (7,1) - Distance is too large so reduce it please.
  11. 00:35:791 (3,4) - ^
  12. 00:39:269 (3,4) - Remove HDash, as no strong beats there.
  13. 00:40:139 (2,1) - You may remove HDash here to fit the consistency with previous patterns.
  14. 00:50:791 (2,3) - Lower the distance.
  15. 00:56:443 (2,3,4) - Lower the distance by a grid between each circles.
  16. 00:57:313 (2,3,4) - ^
  17. 00:57:965 (1,2) - Remove HDash as it feels strange to have a sudden HDash here.
  18. 00:58:182 (2,3,4) - Lower the distance.
  19. 01:08:617 (5,6,1) - Remove these multiple HDashes.
  20. 01:10:357 (5,1,2) - ^
  21. 01:15:357 (8,1) - Add HDash.
  22. 01:22:747 (2,3,4) - Remove the HDashes.
  23. 01:24:487 (4,5,6) - ^
  24. 01:25:791 (1,2,3) - Way too static here. Please create more movements at this point.
  25. 01:26:443 (4,5,1) - Lower the distance by 1 grid between each circles.
  26. 01:27:313 (4,5,6) - Move (5) 1 grid to the right.

Good luck ranking the map!

Sorry for late response, busy with stuff irl and kind of forgot that this thing existed lol

Anyway, I will not be needing a GD because I only wanted 3 difficulties in this mapset. Thanks anyway though!
