This topic said it includes other beat-styled games but I haven't found a thread about one lol. The only other game I can think of is gutiar hero and ik there's some knock offs of that game. Do you know any other games similar to osu?

Here some links to some already existing games that have their own threads.

Cytus
Rock Band 4
Love Live! School Idol Festival
Hatsune Miku Project diva F 2nd
Rhythmvaders EX
Good Free Games

I personally play Love Live and Hatsune Miku Project diva F 2nd out of the ones above. I also used to play Elite Beat Agents on the DS before I knew about osu!.

There's also this game called cirring which is super similar to osu!

I think you mean simulator
also this is a bad option as you need a controller to play it properly

jubeat plus (ios/android) - faithful alternative to the bemani arcade game, better played on an ipad or any similar tablet with a large screen, and a really responsive capacitive touch screen.

I am surprised that no-one recommended trying Volumax. It's still on Beta and very fun to play :P
You should try it out, there's not even too many active players there so it's going to be easy to get high rank.
I really hope that Volumax is going to get more attention soon :X

Does anyone know of any arcade-style rhythm games on Steam somewhere? It's all "games with music" but not actual rhythm games :<

I recommend Cytus.
I used to play it some time ago but I dropped it to play osu.
Basic mechanic is a line goes up&down and balls appear anywhere on the screen.
You click the ball when the line is on the ball.

Paca Paca Passion by PRODUCE!, as well as its two sequels, are pretty fun. It's basically like DanceDanceRevolution, but you have to dance against CP-controlled dancers ala Bust A Groove, and failing/losing will give you a chance to continue. Just like in DJMAX TECHNIKA, a progress bar travels across the screen, making notes not move. You are forced to stop playing if the countdown in the danger zone reaches zero.

Unlike DanceDanceRevolution, a character has different charts, mainly corresponding to the instrument of the tracks. The four main characters are Coke: the blue-haired boy with the headphones, Miruka: The brunette girl with the sunglasses, Purika: The lady with the rabbit ear hairband, and Geroppa: A man-like robot with an afro. Geroppa has the hardest stepcharts ever made for the Paca Paca Passion series to date, and is usually the character for each of the tracks' hardest charts.
