[General]
I don't really like the song but hearing the beat of this song, you can do so much with it.
Your patterns get a bit boring for me, feels like you're playing very safe with the sliders
[Insane]
00:00:570 (3,4) - 00:03:044 (3,4) - 00:05:519 (3,4) - 00:07:993 (3,4,5) - Please choose wether you want to stack or not. If you want to make a variety please be consistent.
(ex. stack, not stack, stack, not stack or stack, not stack, not stack, stack.) Although in my opinion, it would be better if you stack all of them (if you want to emphasise the guitar sound.)
Opted for spaced, stacked, stacked, spaced00:07:684 (1,2,3,4,5) - I find this anti-clockwise flow after 00:07:374 (3)
a bit odd. As 00:02:426 (3,1,2,3,4) and 00:04:900 (3,1,2,3,4) flows clockwise.
Rotated all 90 degrees anticlockwise and Ctrl+H for a clockwise flow00:08:070 (4) - This doesn't really sound good, I suggest removing it.
Several people have commented on this so I'll remove it now00:12:014 (5) - Slider shape breaks the flow here, it plays very weird.
Rotated all of the combo after (2) 15 degrees ccw to accommodate a greater angle on (5), should flow better now00:18:740 - You missed a beat here.
This was intentional. I felt it would kill the flow of my original pattern, but
I think it fits much better with your suggestion below, so I've added it.00:18:972 - The drum beat here is strong so you shouldn’t use a slider. Use a circle to emphasise the beat. (I see that you have quite a lot of problem with this, I’ll point out the ones I really think you should change.)
Nice idea, I like it00:18:818 (3) - There's a strong drum beat at the end of this slider, you should change this into a circle instead to emphasise it.
Fixed with the above00:22:220 (7) - Again, you can hear the drum at the end of this slider. I suggest changing it to a circle on 00:22:220 and a 1/1 slider on 00:22:374 (following vocals). If you just want to map the drums, use circles.
The drum sound on the tail is a weaker kick beat compared to the stronger snare drum sound on the head, so I feel this is fine00:22:684 (8) - Similar issue here. Would be better if you changed slider head to a circle and slider tail to a 1/2 slider.
I agree here though, since the snare is on the tail. Fixed00:23:148 (2) - Instead of making this into a reverse slider, try using a slider then a circle. Also, add a clap where the slider ends.
Changed the note pattern as you suggested, butput the clap on the circle since this is the strong snare sound00:23:611 (3) - ^ You can make this very interesting and fun to play if you change up the placement.
Hopefully it's a bit more interesting without the reverse sliders00:24:230 (5,6) - I would map this part more, you can do many different things with this part by following the drums.
I'm trying to add a bit of variety here, 1/2 sliders throughout the entire map gets boring00:28:096 (1,2) - ^ Especially since it builds up to the chorus.
A number of people have given positive contributions to the current pattern, so I'd like to keep it00:29:642 (1,2,3) - You can play around with the placement a bit more here.. seems a little boring
I use different patterns for this section when it's repeated later on. I think this is fine for the first one00:30:261 (3) - Better as circles instead.
I disagree, the snare sound on the head is much stronger than the kick sound on the tail, and these sounds are consistent on each slider in this combo, so I see no reason why this one should be any different00:29:642 (1,2,3) - I think it’ll be really cool if you add a clap to both head and tail of these sliders.
Putting claps on all of these would be too overbearing imo, and the weaker kick drum sound on the tails doesn't really justify it00:30:570 (4) - Use 1.5/6x DS. The song allows you to place a larger jump.
DoneI have a suggestion for a different hit sounding pattern to the chorus part of the song. Take this with a grain of salt though. I honestly don’t know anything about hit sounding, this is just what sounds good to me.
00:31:653 (3) - Add clap here
00:31:807 (4) - Remove clap at beginning and add at the end instead.
try it and see if you like it Sorry, this just sounds really awkward to me. For following the drums, (3) is a weak kick beat, so clap is unjustified, and even though it's on the downbeat, neither the head or tail of (4) are particularly prominent compared to the current snare sounds (which already have claps) at 00:31:189 and 00:32:426 so I'll keep my current pattern01:01:498 (1) - ctrl j/h and move back to original place, plays out and flows better.
Done01:03:276 - You missed a beat here.
I don't hear anything here...01:03:354 (3) - align with 01:03:354 (3), it doesn’t flow very well
Do you mean align it with (4)? I can't align something with itself! xD I think I get what you meant though, so I made this into an oval flow01:15:416 (1,2) - I wouldn’t follow the vocals here, it’s kind of weird. Same goes with the previous chorus.
Made 01:15:725 (2) into two 1/2 sliders (one strong beat, one weaker beat) and did the same in the other choruses
