hello from VINXIS and i's modding queue!

basically all i wanted to do to the storyboard was add in some fade and pulse transitions from one bg to another (or from bw backgrounds to colour backgrounds etc etc)
please click here to download/view the .txt file containing the code for the storyboard!

[storyboard]
  1. 00:35:107 - added a pulse animation into the kiai time with the use of a pic i edited called bgpulse.jpg - link here!
  2. 00:45:405 - added pulse animation here since the vocals were similar (or as powerful) as they were at the start of the kiai time - since it sounded similar there to how it sounded back then, i thought it could be suitable
  3. 01:00:810 - added pulse animation + fade to transition from the bgpulse.jpg which i used during the kiai time into the normal background
  4. 01:06:094 - added fade into black bg from that point to 01:16:049 for a smoother transition
  5. 01:37:215 - added pulse animation here just for a nice little animation to go along with the colour change~
  6. 01:57:809 - (i couldn't do this otherwise i felt like i'd break the storyboard somehow ahahah a h hahah,,,) i recommend trying to make it fade into black from that point to 01:58:053 just for a smoother transition ^^
  7. 02:11:107 - added pulse animation which kinda subtlety goes off while it fades from white into the next background
  8. 02:21:404 - added pulse animation starting here since the vocals were similar (or as powerful) as they were at the start of the kiai time - since it sounded similar there to how it sounded back then, i thought it could be suitable (totally didn't copy+paste from my second point :'^) )
other than that, the map itself is pretty great from what i've seen and the storyboard looks amazing as well :^)

good luck with the rank, will be throwing my next star this way! (^˃ᆺ˂^)ノ”

  1. 00:35:107 - added a pulse animation into the kiai time with the use of a pic i edited called bgpulse.jpg - link here! Sorry, I find the inconsistency between pulse and lyrics to be in contradiction with the attempted simplicity of this storyboard. So I apologise but will not be utilising the pulse during kiai. :(
  2. 00:45:405 - added pulse animation here since the vocals were similar (or as powerful) as they were at the start of the kiai time - since it sounded similar there to how it sounded back then, i thought it could be suitable See previous
  3. 01:00:810 - added pulse animation + fade to transition from the bgpulse.jpg which i used during the kiai time into the normal background See previous, previous
  4. 01:06:094 - added fade into black bg from that point to 01:16:049 for a smoother transition This is nice, and since others also want this; added, thanks :D
  5. 01:37:215 - added pulse animation here just for a nice little animation to go along with the colour change~ This is a nice place for a pulse! Fits well; added.
  6. 01:57:809 - (i couldn't do this otherwise i felt like i'd break the storyboard somehow ahahah a h hahah,,,) i recommend trying to make it fade into black from that point to 01:58:053 just for a smoother transition ^^ Also nice suggestion, added
  7. 02:11:107 - added pulse animation which kinda subtlety goes off while it fades from white into the next background See first comment

Unlike the other backgrounds in the SB bgnogirlbw.jpg isn't moving... Yet it has the same size as the other ones. I suggest you crop it so so there's no parts of the image unused.

Unfortunately the Ranking Criteria dosn't allow 1366x1024 size of images. I personally feel it's works as it is buut the criteria wants you to scale it down to somewhere around 854x640. I'll try to talk with the staff about it here so we'll see https://osu.ppy.sh/forum/t/276337

[SB Coding]
(Only if the higher res images will be allowed)
Right now you scale the imagesd down to 0.64. However 0.625 will make the images fit perfectly to the screen in-game so I suggest scaling down to that.

[SB Load]
You don't need to put a black image when you want it black. If you remove the background (Like you have done) the default colour of the background is black so use that instead of colour your background black

Anyways aside from there (in my opinion small things) The SB is great, love the way the letters move individually.

01:16:134 (5,6,7,8,9) - consider making it a downward stream instead of stacked notes, would follow the music better. like here 01:57:486 (1,2,3,4,5,6) -
02:08:513 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - would be cool to increase hitsound volume together with the music as its picking up

very little to pick on. the spacing is really nice an readable.

Hey Gelbana. Haven't heard this song before, fell in love with it when I heard the preview! Please get this ranked soon!! Here is my mod, sorry I couldn't mod the Extra. I can barely pass it, so I don't think my mod will be as helpful :P.

[TmTk's Insane]
00:34:296 (7,1) - Is such a huge jump necessary? :P Consider Ctrl G on 1. Flows better into 00:34:945 (2,1) - too.
01:36:080 (7) - A normal curved slider is more fitting here imo.
02:10:296 (4,5,6,7,1) - Try Ctrl G on 4 for better flow into 5, 6, 7

[Insane]
00:22:134 (2) - You could make this more even.
00:32:350 (1) - Consider mapping this part. It seem's like a missed opportunity since this section is a "build up" I don't think a spinner does it justice.
00:35:918 (4,6,7) - I'm not sure this overlap is a good idea.
00:49:702 (6,7) - Blanket better.
01:28:134 (6,7,8) - Make these more evenly spaced.
02:03:972 (2) - Ctrl G this too for better flow. You could Ctrl H so it fits more nicely with 3
02:07:540 (5,6) - Have a circle at 02:07:539 - and move the slider to 02:07:701 - instead. Also you could integrate a jump pattern here to emphasize the music.
02:27:486 (5,1) - Blanket better.
02:27:486 (5,1) - These aren't evenly spaced. This is what I see when I scale it out to see the spacing.

[Hard]
00:16:134 (1) - This slider could be improved.
00:25:053 (3,4) - 4 doesn't really play into anything... Try making 3 a repeat and taking out 4.
01:30:405 (4,5) - The spacing is deceptive here, consider spacing further apart.
01:54:080 (6,7,8) - ^
02:44:026 (3,4,5,1) - Fix this pattern a bit so the 5 doesn't look like its jutting out. You could move it a bit further apart to create a bit of a jump from 02:44:513 (5,1) - . I think it would work well here.
02:51:810 (2,3,4) - Fix spacing from 3 to 4 to make it consistent.

[TmTk's Normal]

00:30:567 (2) - This touches my heath bar :P.
00:49:215 (4,5) - Not perfectly parallel
02:18:728 (1,2) - Blanket better.

[Easy]
00:38:999 (3,4) - Blanket better.
00:50:675 (1,2) - Try swapping 2 and 1 in timeline, repeat slider first, then the circle.
01:12:729 (3,5) - I feel like these two sliders could be improved, more symmetry? Up to you on this though, you have a few s sliders but some are abstract shapes too which are perfectly fine.

Hope it helps, good luck!!!

Xgor's SB stuff is WIP atm but will fix scaling and black screen issues and hope the maximum image size rule gets passed.

[Insane]
00:22:134 (2) - You could make this more even. I tried to fix ;_;
00:32:350 (1) - Consider mapping this part. It seem's like a missed opportunity since this section is a "build up" I don't think a spinner does it justice. I left this as a spinner due to the less awesome build up compared to the second chorus build up. I wanted to give the second more emphasis, however, if someone else suggests this i will probably map this
00:35:918 (4,6,7) - I'm not sure this overlap is a good idea. I feel it plays ok
00:49:702 (6,7) - Blanket better. Fixed
01:28:134 (6,7,8) - Make these more evenly spaced. They are all distance snapped?
02:03:972 (2) - Ctrl G this too for better flow. You could Ctrl H so it fits more nicely with 3 Fixed, did a Ctrl-G
02:07:540 (5,6) - Have a circle at 02:07:539 - and move the slider to 02:07:701 - instead. Also you could integrate a jump pattern here to emphasize the music. Fixed, nice suggestion

00:16:134 (1) - This slider could be improved. I tried
00:25:053 (3,4) - 4 doesn't really play into anything... Try making 3 a repeat and taking out 4. 4 plays well to end the lyrics
01:30:405 (4,5) - The spacing is deceptive here, consider spacing further apart. I like the anti jumps here because i think the music calls for it. Will probably change if one more person suggests.
01:54:080 (6,7,8) - ^ See previous
02:44:026 (3,4,5,1) - Fix this pattern a bit so the 5 doesn't look like its jutting out. You could move it a bit further apart to create a bit of a jump from Fixed
02:44:513 (5,1) - . I think it would work well here. This is the same timing point as before?
02:51:810 (2,3,4) - Fix spacing from 3 to 4 to make it consistent. Fixed

[Easy]
00:38:999 (3,4) - Blanket better. Fixed
00:50:675 (1,2) - Try swapping 2 and 1 in timeline, repeat slider first, then the circle. Fixed and repositioned
01:12:729 (3,5) - I feel like these two sliders could be improved, more symmetry? Up to you on this though, you have a few s sliders but some are abstract shapes too which are perfectly fine. Changed it up, hopefully your eyes don't burn while playing ;_;

*Bolded = Unrankable or very, very strongly suggested; red = Highly suggested or questionable (still weaker than the bolded ones); black = Minor suggestions/rants; blue = Notes/advices to avoid/fix repeated problems. Also note that hitsound suggestions on a diff may apply on similar parts of the song and the other diffs of the mapset.

>General
  1. 01:00:891 - Pretty sure you should end the kiai here; it's the most logical choice, if you listen to the music.
  2. 02:36:890 - ^
>Easy
  1. 00:02:350 (2,3) - Inconsistent spacing.
  2. 00:50:675 (5,1) - I believe you should swap the NC because the two combos are inconsistent in length right now.
  3. 02:26:674 (1,1) - Uh what's with the NCs? I think you placed one of them by accident.
  4. 02:30:566 (5,1) - I somehow think the spacing is intentional, but why? Consider 01:15:323 (5,1) too, btw, which has the same 3/2 gap but the spacing is consistent with basically the whole map.
>TmTk's Normal
  1. 00:55:702 - Why don't you map this with a circle (with a finish too) and start 00:55:702 (1) at 00:55:864 instead, just like the end of the second kiai? It actually goes with the song better, and is nice to keep the rhythm consistency.
>Hard
  1. Why HP6? It's pretty high for a Hard diff and is kinda unforgiving on misses. Drop to HP5, please?
  2. 01:57:648 (7) - Why don't you add a repeat then add a finish at 01:58:134? Doesn't really make sense to leave 01:58:134 unmapped while it has a noticeable cymbal sound.
  3. 02:03:161 - Add a circle with a finish? Same reason as the one above. Since the cymbal is stronger than the instrument you mapped at 02:03:323 (1), it's possible that players will hit 02:03:323 (1) at 02:03:161 instead.
  4. 02:47:107 (5,1) - Why is the spacing smaller here? You know, it's even smaller than the default DS value you use, and the choice isn't really logical IMO.
>Insane
  1. Use HP7? Same reason as my suggestion in the Hard diff.
  2. 02:15:647 - 02:15:971 - Uuuuuuh wait. The rhythm of the map has been going constantly every 1/2 beats, and suddenly you didn't map the white ticks here? Even if there are noticeable instrument sounds? This might lead players to think that 02:15:323 (2,3,4) are a part of the constant 1/2 rhythm and not what you wanted them to be. I strongly suggest to map the white ticks too.
  3. 02:19:701 - ^ (The instrument here is not as noticeable, but the sudden need of a lesser movement to hit the jumps makes playing this section awkward.)
>iyasine_sk's Extra
  1. 02:36:890 - (iyasine) Why don't you map this to the end to be consistent with the other diffs?
Tsumetaku's Insane diff is okay.

Beautiful song, beautiful mapping on most diffs :) I love it! <3
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the song!

SB update cropped out useless part of bg in question and fixed scaling issues. Removed all instances where the black image is unnecessary but still had to keep for the build up to the second chorus. Considering other SBs have been ranked with down-scaled high-res images, I hope these images shouldn't be a problem. Please Re-download.

Thanks to Hinsvar for the mod and star :D

You are talking about the spacing on timeline right? Yeah, couldn't find a nice finish without hitting a red tick. As a fix, removed the mote altogether. The second consideration, also deleted and made the slider a repeat; seems to fit ok.

Just my 2 cents on this (I asked Hinsvar first)

General

Add 700 to AudioLeadIn for the ideal 2000 ms before the first object for all difficulties

Add -ARIA ON THE PLANETES- to tags? Part of her full name too

Easy

00:34:459 - unused green line
00:49:377 (4) - seems to be lacking the usual clap on the end of the slider
00:50:675 (1) - remove the clap on the middle end of the slider, it doesn't follow the usual 2 beat pattern
00:55:215 (1) - feels more fitting if it starts at 00:55:702 though, and having a circle placed at 00:55:215
01:36:728 (1) - remove that clap on the start of the slider, the place that you usually clap for objects is when you have music like at 01:36:404

TmTk's Normal

00:16:783 (1) - why not finish on the start of the slider?
00:50:513 (1,4) - I don't know if it was your intention, but if you wanted these to blanket, it's not very neat and exact right now
01:28:782 (4) - not really sure why you want to use a slider here, because it seems a circle would do fine at 01:28:782 as the portion at 01:29:107 really does seem quite void of music and the slider end feels extra
01:39:323 (5,1) - not perfect blanket, if they were supposed to be

Hard

00:06:405 (3) - this part seems to fit a NC, similar to music phrasing of 00:01:215 (1,2)
00:29:918 (1) - end the spinner at 00:32:026 - fits with the vocals better
00:40:134 (9) - NC here instead of 00:40:296 (1)
02:05:918 (1) - end the spinner at 02:08:026
02:06:566 - green line not snapped to any line, off by 1 offset

Insane

00:12:891 (6) - I think you should be following consistently with the combo pattern you had at the start. NC here instead of 00:13:377 (1)
00:14:513 (5) - NC
00:15:486 (3) - NC here instead of 00:15:161 (1)
00:29:918 (1) - end the spinner at 00:32:026
00:39:810 (1) - finish on end of slider
01:00:891 (1) - finish on start of slider
01:52:621 (1) - finish on end of slider
01:58:134 - shouldn't there be an object here? The music ends here, possibly with finish hitsound as well

TmTk's Insane

00:16:783 (1) - finish on start of slider
01:06:080 (1) - that's a really weird slider tail to be honest

iyasine_sk's Extra

00:39:648 (6) - I think it sound's cleaner without a finish on this note
00:54:567 (6) - ^
01:31:863 (9) - add whistle on end of slider, there is that soft cymbal-like sound from the drums here at 01:32:026
02:14:836 (8) - finish on the start of this slider, and remove the finish on 02:14:998 (1) - it sounds more fitting this way

Alright, back to Hinsvar now I guess~
Good Luck

00:29:918 (1) - end the spinner at 00:32:026 - fits with the vocals better Fixed
00:40:134 (9) - NC here instead of 00:40:296 (1) With the finish, it feels better to leave as the last note and keep the new combo following.
02:05:918 (1) - end the spinner at 02:08:026 Fixed
02:06:566 - green line not snapped to any line, off by 1 offset Moved to a neater and more appropriate place.

Insane

00:12:891 (6) - I think you should be following consistently with the combo pattern you had at the start. NC here instead of 00:13:377 (1) Agreed, fixed
00:14:513 (5) - NC Fixed
00:15:486 (3) - NC here instead of 00:15:161 (1) Fixed
00:29:918 (1) - end the spinner at 00:32:026 Fixed
00:39:810 (1) - finish on end of slider Fixed
01:00:891 (1) - finish on start of slider Fixed
01:52:621 (1) - finish on end of slider Fixed
01:58:134 - shouldn't there be an object here? The music ends here, possibly with finish hitsound as well My ears are going bad, fixed

Alright, back to Hinsvar now I guess~ \o/ thanks
Good Luck

Just my 2 cents on this (I asked Hinsvar first)

General

Add 700 to AudioLeadIn for the ideal 2000 ms before the first object for all difficulties

Add -ARIA ON THE PLANETES- to tags? Part of her full name too

TmTk's Normal

00:16:783 (1) - why not finish on the start of the slider? hmm, fixed with In
00:50:513 (1,4) - I don't know if it was your intention, but if you wanted these to blanket, it's not very neat and exact right now uh i think it's fine now..
01:28:782 (4) - not really sure why you want to use a slider here, because it seems a circle would do fine at 01:28:782 as the portion at 01:29:107 really does seem quite void of music and the slider end feels extra i use slider here to fill the rhythm lack of cymbos, and to follow 1/1
01:39:323 (5,1) - not perfect blanket, if they were supposed to be fixed~

TmTk's Insane

00:16:783 (1) - finish on start of slider
01:06:080 (1) - that's a really weird slider tail to be honest uh ok changed Q_Q

Alright, back to Hinsvar now I guess~
Good Luck
Thx neonat san!!~

You can't have both sliderslide and slidertick muted at the same time
Why does Insane, Hard, and Extra start 1/2 beat earlier?

[Storyboard]
Instead of putting "Stoyboard Gelbana" wouldn't be better to put "Storyboard by Gelbana"? btw really nice storyboard i love it

Ranking Criteria wrote:

Storyboard images must be at a reasonable size for their usage. For most uses (e.g. full-screen images), the maximum is 800x600 pixels for 4:3 aspect ratio images, although 640x480 is highly preferred. For widescreen mode (recommended) the maximum is 960x540 pixels for 16:9 aspect ratio images and 960x600 for 16:10 images. The editor is 640x480 at default, so there's really no need to use anything larger for full-screen purposes.
Which means you need to resize: bg.jpg (the one in SB folder), bg2.jpg bgnogirl.jpg, bgnogirlbw.jpg and black.jpg, there's discussion on changing this here, but for now gotta stick to that.

[iyasine_sk's Extra]
Holy, this map's awesome. Tho the storyboard that shows who mapped what is barely noticeable midplay, you might wanna try to make it bigger or something.
Also it's barely visible at some point: http://puu.sh/er2NR/39c11fe01c.jpg

[TmTk's Insane]
00:16:783 (1) - Sorry but this is unacceptable, the slider goes back into itself twice at the end, change that.
00:40:134 (6) - This one needs to change too D:
01:12:567 (6) - This one's not as bad, but i'd prefer if you opened it up a bit more.
02:42:080 (1) - This one looks awkward D: don't see why that shape in this case, try something different?
02:51:161 (1) - ^
No, I didn't miss sliders, only those I pointed out in bold and red are an issue, the others are more of aesthetic stuff.

[Insane]
00:54:729 (8,1,2,3) - This back and forth feels annoying to read and play, i suggest you try something else.
02:06:566 - Unsnapped timing section, resnap it back.
02:00:729 (2,3,4) - I understand what you're going for here, but unfortunately 3 is way too small to look good if you curve it, i suggest keep the curve REAAAALLY small, or just dont curve it at all or try something else in this pattern. I tried something more structured as an example
Example
Notice how both of the cases have notes descending in parallel lines

[Hard]
02:01:864 (3,4,1) - This is really misleading and hard to read. I think it'd be better if you stack 02:01:864 (3,4) And adjust spacing afterwards.
02:08:350 (1,1) - Needs more recovery time (1.5 beats) (the 1 beat guideline works on 160 bpm, this is faster so it needs more)

[Normal]
01:42:404 (6) - Don't move the slider back into itself like that, specially on a Normal, open it a bit more.

[Easy]
00:29:918 (1,1) - Increase recovery time by 1/2 beat (the 4 beat guideline works on 160 bpm, this is faster so it needs more), also do this with: 00:55:702 (1,1) - , 02:05:917 (1,1) - and 02:31:863 (1,1) -
01:14:026 (4) - Biurai Slider and even then try to avoid these sliders on an Easy, open it more
02:51:323 (1) - ^

Really good map, i'll throw some kudosu stars at it, call be back after fixes are applied.

Thanks iyasine for finding that. Must have accidentally changed or just completely missed it altogether.

Storyboard update. Re-download please:

Split and tiled bg images so they abide by the less than the 800x600 (or 960x540 not sure but makes no difference) maximum supplied by the ranking criteria.
iyasine_sk collab naming was given drop shadow and made larger for clarity.
Pretty much finalised now and it seems to contain no more unrankable elements on this end.

Edit: Added Tsumetaku updates
Thanks for the stars and mod Sakura :D

Why does Insane, Hard, and Extra start 1/2 beat earlier? I thought hard+ players would be able to hit this note thats timed to lyrics over beat; easy player would have a difficult time.

Holy, this map's awesome. Tho the storyboard that shows who mapped what is barely noticeable midplay, you might wanna try to make it bigger or something. Tried to fix as best as possible. The bottom is the only place that wouldn't be intrusive of the rest of the SB or obscured by the UI while also making sure those who play in 4:3 can still see who mapped what. So I did the changes specified previously; hope it works. It kinda conflicts with the SB style but I guess it's a compromise.

Apparently when you fixed the text for the collab you forgot to delete these:
sb\font\eng\c.png
sb\font\eng\i.png
sb\font\eng\underscore.png
As they are unused now.

Either when i redownloaded it downloaded these again or they were removed last night after i redownloaded, well doesn't matter they are gone now.

@iyasine: Why would you use a finish for 02:32:026 (1) even though there is nothing that can be emphasized nicely with one?
