As Lust said, the Muzukashii lacks notes and the gap between the 2 maps is a bit too big.
First I'll say what feels wrong to me in your map, then I'll make some suggestions to make it a bit more Muzukashii.

  1. You really should put OD 4. Maybe HP 4 too, but I don't think this one is as much important.
  2. 00:22:541 (8,9,10) - There's drums at 00:22:892 - and 00:23:418 - and the next beat following those two drums is at 00:23:769 -
    I would suggest :
    and for the next pattern ( 00:25:348 (11,12,13) - ) :
    Adding a note on the next one prepare the player to the fact that the real map is coming soon.
    This or you could try to put the katsu on a white tick, but it doesn't really fit to the beat and to 00:28:155 (15,16,17,18,19) - neither.
  3. 01:13:067 (66,67,68,69,70,71,72,73,74,75,76,77,78,79,80,81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88) - This part is really weird because you switch between lots of things.
    01:13:067 (66,67,68,69,70,71,72,73,74,75) - Is the OHOHOH OH thing that you followed on the whole kiai.
    01:14:997 (76,77,78,79) - Is the female singer (and the end of the WOHOHO O is ignored).
    01:15:874 (79,80) - Oh, it follows the melody.
    01:16:576 (81) - Or is it the female singer? The drums?
    01:16:751 (82,83,84,85,86,87,88) - Well I don't know anymore man.
    You should find a way to make it more consistent. Actually the whole thing is following drums (there's drums everywhere anyway) but the way you mapped it, it's confusing. If you want to follow drums, add more notes and if you want to follow something else, move those notes.
    Personally, I'd suggest to follow the hohoho ho until 01:15:874 - but there's probably others fine ways.
  4. 01:18:681 (88,1,1) - Put the same thing as in the Oni?
  5. 01:41:137 (8,9,10) - 01:43:944 (11,12,13) - Same suggestion as before.
  • To have more notes, first you need to... add more notes! Well, as an example, turning two 2 notes patterns (there's a lot of those) in a 5 notes one. Just avoid to make them too long. 5 1/2 notes is cool, 7 1/2 notes is a bit tricky but is fine, avoid going above this except for slow songs or easy patterns like 02:13:418 (120,121,122,123,124,125,126,127) - . Then you should try to add more ddd and kkk (but not too much) or even ddk and kkd.
    I'll make some random suggestions of what you could add but feel free to do whatever you want:
  1. 00:36:049 (10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19) -
  2. 00:43:944 (40,41,42,43,44) -
I hope you'll be able to add more notes without making errors or a map too much repetitive/too hard, good luck.

Timing settings are okay.
Make sure tags don't conflict with the rest of the diffs, like AiMod suggests, fix some preview point snapping in the taiko difficulties and, finally, make sure all letterbox boxes are ticked or unticked.


[ -GN's Normal]

00:33:769 (1,3) - Man this blanket here could look better if the two sliders were not almost overlapping. Try spreading 3 out a little bit and move it backwards like shown in the image below. Make sure you readjust some of the spacing afterwards if you choose to follow this piece of advice.

00:36:049 (6,1) - I see no reason why you wouldn't want to follow the sliderpath here and reversing the flow like you're doing here. Will ruin blanket, sure, but the result would be much more appealing in my eyes if you could pull off something like shown next up. If you decide not to follow this suggestion, I would at least suggest to make 1 a little more curvy for a better blanket with circle 4.

00:40:260 (3) - Middle point at x:143 y:239 and endpoint at x:166 y:326 should make this blanket perfect.

00:44:295 (5) - Avoid this sort of slider, please. It's pretty hard to read, especially considering that this is the first difficulty in the set, you should give the 1/2 repeat spam a rest. For this here, I would just go with 2 sliders with 1/2 spacing.

00:45:699 (2,4) - As before, the circle internally overlaps with the slider, making the combination look ugly. Suggestion here is to do the same as above :P

00:47:979 (3,4) - This sort of spacing can be a little confusing for newcomers. Easiest solution here would be to rotate 4 clockwise enough so that it doesn't overlap with 3, making it also a bit more readable in that aspect. You could flip 3 horizontally on top of that for maximum Kreygasm. Ending result could look like this:

00:50:084 (3,4,5) - Here we have another overlap that could easily be avoided. Moving 4 a bit downwards so that the spacing will allow you to move 5 a bit to the left and readjusting the blanket without the overlap seems to be the better choice here. End result:

00:53:418 (1,2,1,2,3,4) - Having those basically muted is unintuitive and in my opinion silly. Doesn't serve for a buildup any better than it would be if you added some hitsounds to it.

00:58:506 (4) - Moving the midpoint to x:149 y:178 and the endpoint to x:111 y:217 in this slider should pretty up this blanket quite a lot.

01:00:084 (2) - Why not go for a double blanket here?! Make the slider's head blanket with the slider 4 I mentioned above and rotate this here slider 2 enough so that it blankets with 1! Wouldn't that be cool? Here like so:

01:05:699 (3) - Move this slider to x:275 y:299 and see the magic :D

01:09:734 (3,1) - This looks pretty neat, nice!

01:15:918 (1) - No point starting this 1/8 afterwards. Noone has enough reaction time at this level for 1/8 spacing. Would move it 1/4 apart instead.

01:29:909 - Not sure if you need this green line for anything. Remove it if you want.

01:41:137 (1,2,1) - Now this looks more like it! Nice!

01:45:348 (3,1) - Kaguya disapproves of this blanket and also of the copypasta that has taken place here. Just moving the middle point of slider 1 to x:259 y:221 makes the blanket lots more delicious.

01:53:242 (3) - These sliderpoints (along with others so far) have given me the impression that you have done a rush job to this. The imperfect blankets speak for themselves. Middlepoint at x:257 y:337 and endpoint at x:184 y:371 fix your blanket.

01:57:277 (2) - Same suggestion as previously, use 2 sliders.

02:02:892 (5) - Same as above actually!

02:03:593 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5) - Since you seem to have copypasted this entire section, I guess fixing the stuff from the previous section identical to it and copypasting them here again works.

02:13:418 (1,2,3,4) - You seem to have fixed the issue here as opposed to your previous section.

02:31:663 (1,1) - This combinations looks pretty bad-looking. Why don't you make orange blanket blue's sliderend? Flow could get improved as well! Like so:
02:34:514 (1) - Same as previously, 1/4 spacing at least.

Endnote: I found so many spacing issues that mentioning them here could make me starve. The 1/2 spread across 0.8 and 1.1 in the DS is really not optimal for Normal difficulties, especially ones that are considered the easiest difficulty of the set. Some nice ideas here but they feel unrefined.


[ Ayu's Hard]

I suppose timing has changed and you haven't resnapped anything. Fix that issue.

00:55:699 (2,3,1) - This might be a little hard to read. I'm not really sure what could be done here to prevent that since I feel this fits the most. What I can think of only is removing the reverse from 02:13:416 (1) - this and making a 1/2 slider in place where the sliderend was at in the timeline so it should look like this:

00:57:275 (4) - Curve this just a tiny little more for a better blanket with the circle. Moving the middle point down a few pixels should do the trick.

01:12:012 (2,5) - I find this overlap not so good-looking. Why not try a stack there?

01:29:909 - Same as the Normal diff, yo don't need this green line.

02:14:293 (2,3,1) - Same issue as the copypasted part of this.

This diff is really good, barely found anything!


[ Tesla's Insane]

00:26:225 (5,1) - I don't get the space created here. This can be mapped to vocals with 1/2 sliders.

01:12:716 (5,6) - Not sure how I feel about these after seeing the stream before it. I assume you're looking for variety but sacrificing consistency for variety resulting in making the map harder is to be reconsidered.

01:44:821 (5,1) - Same as previously.

01:12:716 (5,6) - Not sure how I feel about these after seeing the stream before it. I assume you're looking for variety but sacrificing consistency for variety resulting in making the map harder is to be reconsidered. These are mapped to a violin and they are on a point where 1/4 quintuples have been mapped on before in the stanza so is not a complete shock.


Endnote: Too much 1/4 in this. Too much indeed. The Hard difficulty has no 1/4 whatsoever and right afterwards we jump to 1/4 kicksliders. Pretty big space in difficulty if you ask me, it shows in the star rating as well. Nearly two whole stars difficulty gap is too much and quite frankly unrankable. As a final note I suggest that you remove plenty of 1/4 from this. I think I agree with this, I'll talk to Tess about reducing the difficulty of her section a bit, since there are 1/4 triples that could definitely be taken out without detriment to the map and maybe some decreased spacing to reduce dat star rating, also to work on a solution for the end.

Nwolf's Muzukashii

This mod is mostly about consistency things and some nitpicks, nothing major here really, just a small mod :3

  1. 00:22:541 - I would like it if you added a couple more notes from here to 00:28:155 - as it's very very different from the Oni; and this section is extremely low density compared to the next one so...
  2. 00:44:997 (44) - Nitpick - quite a significant note here; consider adding a finish here? (sounds a bit better as a big kat instead of a big don as it's not exactly super super hard
  3. 01:09:558 (51,52,53) - sudden switch from vocal to instrumental mapping due to the middle note of this triplet, might want to reconsider this as it's extremely inconsistent with the rest of the Kiai (it's the only one). Also it's not monochrome so that makes it quite challenging; a further point to consider. If you don't get rid of 52 then at least make 53 a don to make the pattern more suitable (yet again inconsistent I know but playability is also something that is a bit more important; thus you take musical liberties).
  4. 01:14:646 (74) - consider removing this note for a more noticeable transition into different vocals; right now it seems like the transition is muddled since both types of vocals are in the same pattern. OH YEAH AND IT'S INCONSISTENT WITH 01:06:400 (39,40,41,42) - OK (just saying)
  5. 01:41:137 - same as first suggestion, whatever you do there, do here
  6. 01:54:120 (39,40,41,42,43) - Why are 5-plets like this here when they weren't at places like 00:35:523 (8,9,10,11) - which sound pretty much the same, mind you?
  7. 02:03:593 (79) - Nitpick - same as 00:44:997
  8. 02:24:821 (46) - same as 01:14:646, if you don't do it there at least do it here so that it's fully consistent with the previous kiai and the other transitional vocals get more emphasis I guess
  9. 02:28:155 (61,62,63) - same as 01:09:558
  10. 02:33:242 (86) - same as 01:14:646, if applied there apply here too.

first off the quiet parts' hitsounds are too loud; at least reduce them by 10% or something

secondly AIMod says there's a lot of unsnapped notes but it might be some sort of glitch or something, so get back to me click here

This mod is mostly about buildup and nice-sounding patterns (the second one being extremely subjective so take them with a grain of salt, do consider the buildup though, that could make the quality a bit higher!)

  1. 00:29:207 (29) - and 00:30:786 (41) - consider deleting these notes to create the effect of intense buildup while keeping the idea of a buildup due to spaces (also the section after it is louder and has more spaces; going from this to that is quite jarring to the song so at least put one or two spaces here too)
  2. 00:47:014 (17,18) - Perhaps swap these so that both this pattern and the one before it sound the same; this would be a nice effect imo!
  3. 00:52:628 (17,18) - see above.
  4. 00:54:997 (37,38,39,40,41,42,43,44) - Consider making this pattern slightly easier for a more effective buildup to the Kiai; going from easy non-chorus to hard chorus is always a fun emphasis tool :3
  5. Between 01:46:751 (41) - and 01:49:558 (61) - perhaps get rid of two 1/4 patterns; this part of the song is really quiet so 4 1/4 patterns is too much imo
  6. 02:05:699 (19) - Nitpick - Maybe make this a don to be consistent with 2nd and 3rd suggestions
  7. 02:11:313 (19) - Nitpick - see above.
  8. 02:36:049 (56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66,67,68) - Why is the most difficult pattern at the end? Sure, it's not much harder than normal but could catch players off-guard so perhaps delete 67 just to be on the safe side.

  3. 00:54:997 (37,38,39,40,41,42,43,44) - Consider making this pattern slightly easier for a more effective buildup to the Kiai; going from easy non-chorus to hard chorus is always a fun emphasis tool :3 I like it better the way it is and I don't think this song's chorus is worth an emphasis anyway. :c

    You should find a way to make it more consistent. Actually the whole thing is following drums (there's drums everywhere anyway) but the way you mapped it, it's confusing. If you want to follow drums, add more notes and if you want to follow something else, move those notes.
    Personally, I'd suggest to follow the hohoho ho until 01:15:874 - but there's probably others fine ways. only moved 01:14:997 (77) - by 1/2
  4. 01:18:681 (88,1,1) - Put the same thing as in the Oni? no
  5. 01:41:137 (8,9,10) - 01:43:944 (11,12,13) - Same suggestion as before. same change
  • To have more notes, first you need to... add more notes! Well, as an example, turning two 2 notes patterns (there's a lot of those) in a 5 notes one. Just avoid to make them too long. 5 1/2 notes is cool, 7 1/2 notes is a bit tricky but is fine, avoid going above this except for slow songs or easy patterns like 02:13:418 (120,121,122,123,124,125,126,127) - . Then you should try to add more ddd and kkk (but not too much) or even ddk and kkd.
    I'll make some random suggestions of what you could add but feel free to do whatever you want:
  1. 00:36:049 (10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19) -
  2. 00:43:944 (40,41,42,43,44) -
Explained at the beginning of post why there's no change

If you don't get rid of 52 then at least make 53 a don to make the pattern more suitable (yet again inconsistent I know but playability is also something that is a bit more important; thus you take musical liberties). Consistent with other additions of 1/4 here
  4. 01:14:646 (74) - consider removing this note for a more noticeable transition into different vocals; right now it seems like the transition is muddled since both types of vocals are in the same pattern. OH YEAH AND IT'S INCONSISTENT WITH 01:06:400 (39,40,41,42) - OK (just saying) ye
  5. 01:54:120 (39,40,41,42,43) - Why are 5-plets like this here when they weren't at places like 00:35:523 (8,9,10,11) - which sound pretty much the same, mind you? Since song is incredibly repetitive, first section is kinda empty and repetition adds more notes so it becomes a bit harder this time (normal difficulty actually)
  6. 02:03:593 (79) - Nitpick - same as 00:44:997 changed
  7. 02:24:821 (46) - same as 01:14:646, if you don't do it there at least do it here so that it's fully consistent with the previous kiai and the other transitional vocals get more emphasis I guess ye

Endnote: I found so many spacing issues that mentioning them here could make me starve. The 1/2 spread across 0.8 and 1.1 in the DS is really not optimal for Normal difficulties, especially ones that are considered the easiest difficulty of the set. Some nice ideas here but they feel unrefined. :arrow: the intention is to have increased spacing for increased gaps in the timeline, with certain subversions for special patterns for special bits of the music, like 02:31:663 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1) - and certain patterns in the kiais. if this is what you're pointing out, i'm not gonna fix them as it's a common design choice for low difficulty maps - if not, it's probably not intended. i've tried to fix all the occurrences of this i did not intend, but it's possible that some of them slipped under my radar.

Endnote: Too much 1/4 in this. Too much indeed. The Hard difficulty has no 1/4 whatsoever and right afterwards we jump to 1/4 kicksliders. Pretty big space in difficulty if you ask me, it shows in the star rating as well. Nearly two whole stars difficulty gap is too much and quite frankly unrankable. As a final note I suggest that you remove plenty of 1/4 from this. As said on IRC, the Hard's lack of 1/4 is an issue with the Hard, not with the Insane. Insanes have 1/4, they're difficult maps and are supposed to be challenging. This map did turn out harder than originally intended, yeah - that's why we changed the diffname from "Light Insane" to just "Insane". As an Insane, its difficulty is fine, and I don't think there's too much 1/4 at all. I wasn't happy with the spacing at the ending so I decreased it by a bit - but only just a bit. Low spaced circlestreams and 1/4 sliderstreams don't have too much of a difference in difficulty - if anything, my choice of sliderstreams here was to make things easier not harder. The only difference with the two types of streams is the origin of the difficulty - aim or tapping. In this case I opted for aim difficulty. Changed a quintuplet stream into a slider -> triple pattern though, for what it's worth.

01:18:681 - The break is imo too long. The break is a little long, yeah, but it's consistent throughout all diffs and I feel as though shortening it would detract from the map's quality rather than add to it. Maybe Hula should reconsider though if more people suggest.
01:49:558 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - I really feel like this was put a bit randomly... Try making 2 squares or something with more sense. These are ladder jumps. I have to agree that a more shaped pattern would work better here - that's what I originally wanted to do, but this 00:30:962 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - pattern would have to be changed as well for that, since I was only trying to be consistent with Hula here.

* 01:29:909 - I don't think you need this green line here. There are no notes and you alreadu have a green line adfter this one that does the job.
* 01:52:365 (1) - Just a very minor thing I noticed, but you have 'slider art here' and the slider after this one is just a simple plain slider, however at an identical part of the song (00:33:769 (1,2,3) - ), it's the other way around. You could make the rhythm of these two parts and the usage of slider art consistent if you want, but that's up to you, since it's not a big problem or anything o/
* 02:00:786 (1) - I'd reverse the curve of the slider here. The flow would be consistent with something you had at 00:42:190 (1,2) - and it just flows much better imo.

  3. 00:55:962 (2,3,4) - Should delete IMO It feels empty without it there and i've tried to map it so the decrease in spacing and HS volume match that the 1/4 drums are also reduced at that point. Also i think it kinda adds a bit more OOMF to that first slider.

  5. 01:04:997 (4) - Ctrl-G? Possible, but here I'm trying to reduce the SV and calm it down a bit briefly.

Here I'm trying to maybe map a few too many things at once. But i'm mapping the strings and the vocals start on the red tick. I currently think that the repeat slider on the downbeat actually works, but only in this instance because the song goes a bit funky. So I try to represent that with something non-standard. Since what your image shows is a standard way of mapping it, i think many of the nuances would be ignored here. If I get further displease about it i'll change it. So it's duly noted.

1) Background: Ranking criteria recommends that you need a 1366*768 image (16:9) or a 1024*768 (4:3). Here is the same background at 1366*768 resolution
2) Disable widescreen support because that is used only when a storyboard is present.
3) Unless you are going to map 3:22 of the song, I would recommend cutting it since at present, the last 40 seconds of the mp3 is unused.

Tesla's Insane
1) For naming you can remove the 'Collab' part because the difficulty name says 'Tesla's Insane' (Tess and Hula); it is already implied that it is a collaboration between you two so having the word 'Collab' is redundant. Tesla's Insane sounds cool.
2) 00:48:506 (3,4,5,6) - I like the pattern but it feels cramped with the way it is positioned right now. When playing the map though I did not have problems playing it.
3) 00:49:734 (2,3,4,5,6) - I was thinking that you can use a star pattern.
4) 02:24:646 (1,2,3,4,5) - This area looks cramped considering the previous patterns which were spaced out. This may have been done intentionally.

1) 01:59:032 (3,4,1) - Note 4 seems to be 4 pixels higher than notes 3 and 1. Shift it down to: 68,356
2) Just a small thing 02:14:383 (4,1,2,3,4) - The change in distance snap looks weird but when playing it was fine. I do not think you have to change it because this is a personal issue and does not affect the beatmap that much.
I do like the various patterns and stuff.

Final Thoughts: I know that this was a very short mod but the map looks cool.
