[AI's Extra]REGARDING 01:22:191 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) and 02:52:016 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - the most preferable way to map it is just to follow the music WITHOUT using 1/4th short sliders, as they aren't necessary this time. Seriously, consider using this (example — Mira's Insane):
- 01:11:314 (4) - missing clap
- 01:14:296 (4,5,6,7) - mapped to nothing; you could use a slider or something if you wanted to follow that wwwwhew sound from the track
- "02:40:086 (5,6,7) - similar to above, I would move these to where 02:38:682 (4,5,6) - is placed. It will be much better spacing to read imo" < I'd apply
- 02:53:068 (9,10) - fix the spacing! 9 should be stacked under 02:52:542 (5) -
- 03:00:437 - custom colours are broken on the second kiai, there should be no grey! Use blue instead, and also fix the next section (only grey) and the section after the next one (pale green/pale purple)
- 03:17:103 (7) - missing clap?
- 03:32:717 (2) - add new combo, remove it from 03:32:542 (1) -
- 03:41:138 (5) - new combo?
Thanks. http://puu.sh/byQri/cf10dbed40.rarDakeDekaane wrote:
Doing a check for Taiko diffs requested by TicClick.
Honestly, the diffs arent bad, good work Stefan, buuut I really think you should tone them down, they're considerably harder than they should be, so they could benefit of some note removal.
[ Muzukashii]
Muzukashii is full of long of 1/2 patterns mixed with 1/4 triples which fits more an Oni, also the song doesn't sound too complex to deserve this difficulty level.
00:00:787 - 00:12:016 - This part is really similar in both difficulties, while this is not a bad thing, but consider removing some notes as it feels a bit overloaded, as it's relatively calm. Did stuff here.
00:12:016 - 00:23:244 - This part could be easier, use some patterns similar to this one, they'd follow better the drums and give some small breaks. So simple the idea, so great the effect. Changed this secting
00:23:244 - Here you could just remove the notes in spots like 00:25:875 (109), but may be not so needed as music is stronger here. Yes, did that here.
00:34:472 - 00:45:700 - In this section you could focus a bit more on vocals than complementing them with the drums, i.e, remove some notes that are mapped on the drums and leave more vocals here. This helps to not make 00:34:472 - 00:56:928 - mapped in a very similar way, which may be a bit boring while playing. Ehrrrruhmmmm... I think it's clearer now what I intended to focus.
00:44:647 (189,190,191,192,193) - Deleting dons here would help a lot to make vocals feel stronger, due being more isolated. Yes Yes Yes, done here.
01:19:384 - tbh I liked this part, I don't think there's too many problems if we leave it like this, but I'd suggest to remove 01:24:472 (369) - to give some small break after those patterns. Good thing for the vocal.
01:30:086 (1) - I think this spinner isn't really needed, a pause would help to create some tension before the kiai, same with 02:59:910 (1). Hard decision but yes, agree.
The kiai is actually nice, just a few suggestions.
01:32:893 (13,15) - Removing these could be nice to emphasize vocals hmhmhm I think I will remove 01:33:244 (15) instead. But I will think about your suggestion to remove this one as well.
01:38:858 (39) - ^ Done.
01:44:121 (64,66) - ^ Same like 01:32:893 (13,15).
Repeat the suggestions for similar sections.
[ Oni]
Oni has a lot of consecutive 1/2 notes, while some of them aren't bad, putting some 1/1 gaps could help a bit here.
Also I think SV 1.60 is forcing difficulty, 1.40 should be better here. I partly agree, 1.60x is pretty cool for Kiai so I will keep it there. For the rest it will be 1.40x.
00:00:787 - 00:06:402 - This section is really weird when you pass to the next where drums begins, as it's harder, while the song is calmer, some deletions could be nice here. Done here.
00:14:559 (61,62) - 00:17:366 (81,82) - I consider this optional, you could remove these to not make this pattern too long. I don't agree here. That's a fairly appropriate lenght of combos.
00:20:173 (101,102,103) - ^ ^
In fact, you could delete notes in similar spots.
00:22:279 (117) - The stream in the music begins in the red tick so yeah, better removing this. Removed.
00:34:472 - 00:45:700 - Something similar as I said in Muzukashii, focus a bit more on vocals, you could remove notes like 00:36:577 (223) and follow a similar structure for this spot. Good, remove some notes, made some changes and yep.. replied on the things below.
00:45:700 - 00:56:928 - You could remove notes like 00:47:805 (293,297) - to emphasize vocals a bit more.
00:50:524 (313,318,319,320) - ^
00:53:331 (334,335,339) - ^
01:30:086 (1) - Same as in Muzukashii, and for 02:59:910 (1). ~
Kiai was nice here too, and again, some note removal suggestions.
01:32:893 (18) - ~
01:34:296 (27,28,29) - No. They're pretty fine here
01:36:051 (39) - ~
01:38:507 (55) - ~
01:39:296 (59) - Removed 01:38:858 instead.
01:39:910 (63,64,65,66) - nope.
01:44:121 (97) - ~
01:45:524 (106,107) - Triplet fits well with vocal/music in general.
01:50:524 (135) - Removed 01:50:086 instead.
01:51:226 (139,140) - Sounds quite empty then.
02:15:524 (166) - I'm pretty sure we're not allowing finisher on streams unless its ...oxxxxO, so please fix it. changed to ddkkddkkkkD.
Repeat the suggestions for similar sections.
You should consider all this I posted, so the map could represent better the song with some of the new breaks the diffs will get, and fit better without being too difficult. Good luck.

Tell me when you are done updating that above screenshot to make everything consistent throughout the whole mapset.
Considering how this map got un-qualified due to "map icons", it looks like we're going to have a problem.Frostmourne wrote:
I was concerned about the difficulty spread but after investigating once again, Easy is pretty much easier than Normal although the star rating doesn't look that way. Hard is not completely harder apart from Normal so I have some confidence to rank it, and hopefully it won't get in trouble afterwards.
Can anyone slap this Ste...fa...an guy...... UghFrostmourne wrote:

As for the response to Lach, there are a plenty of maps using this bamboo-ish hitsound and have never been a problem so I don't get how this becomes a problem.Lach wrote:
Some people, when given an empty canvas decide to make everything overlap. Why is that, hmm?
Also, normal-hitnormal.wav, and soft-hitnormal.wav have a 10ms delay. Might as well get that fixed now. Overall the oriental hitsounds sound extremely out of place in this map, as the song is not oriental-sounding in the slightest
In the insane,
00:36:051 - there's no reason for there not be a circle here. As this is the only time it is done, and all the repetitions to follow use a triplet.
02:57:630 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - this combo is entirely wrong. Starting from 02:57:454 - , I think it would be better as this, or this.

If it were up to me, none of those maps would be using this bad sample. Sadly it has become so widespread that it's difficult to make sure everyone isn't using it. A 10ms delay on the primary sample (the one used upwards of 1000 times throughout a map) causes problems with player timing quickly.Frostmourne wrote:
