OK so I tried that Taiko RPG thingamajig.
It's.....actually pretty bloody hard, and not in the right way.
Remember how PAD is about a combination of team-building and puzzling skills?
With Taiko RPG it's about team-building skills, maybe basic taiko skills just for that power-up don thing,
and pretty much pure luck.
Seriously,in order to deal any decent damage at all you need to ultilize the strike mechanic, but chances are the positions of those chibi-dons
on your drum are -not- where you want them to be.Not to mention all those obstacles+bumpers+moving pins+whatever blocking your way.
Team-building wise you really need to pull a decent leader, even moreso than PAD.Fail to pull anything decent? You're probably fucked once you get to that violin-playing guy.(which btw,is the boss of the dungeon right after the two tutorial ones)
Srsly that guy hits -hard- and attacks every turn. His skill?Covering up the entire screen so you don't know which side to focus and when to launch those chibi-dons.You'll probably deal shit damage too unless you've got enough strikes+power ups but even so it's still gonna take you a couple of turns to finish him,in which every turn he takes away a chunk of your meager HP.
It's bad enough that the final boss of the next dungeon (some girl guitarist) is actually -easier-.
I spent 2 stones on that bugger, even with a friend leader who buffs my RCV.
That's like getting my ass kicked by the dungeon of fire on PAD.
