How long did it take for you to...
- be able to play and get a S or above on hard/insane maps?
- start playing with mods that increases difficulty?
- be able to play maps like Lily - Scarlet Rose all the way to the end?
- get ranked as first or top 50 on a map?
- be able to spin 400+ times a minute?

I started playing Osu not too long ago and I'm just curious...

How do people play with Hidden?! :cry:

Maybe two months, I dont know for sure because I took a break.

a couple of weeks or so for hard, several months if not over a year for insanes

- start playing with mods that increases difficulty?
did that on the first day i started playing already

- be able to play maps like Lily - Scarlet Rose all the way to the end?
nobody can play scarlet rose to the end, its the hardest map in the game

- get ranked as first or top 50 on a map?
first day i think? its been so long, otherwise within the first month at least

- be able to spin 400+ times a minute?
been able to for as long as i can remember

- start playing with mods that increases difficulty? Around a month after i can FC most hards but i can't do mods on insanes for now
- be able to play maps like Lily - Scarlet Rose all the way to the end? Never.. ugh.. i can only do a few compilations though
- get ranked as first or top 50 on a map? probably my first 2 months here. although it was on some easy diff.
- be able to spin 400+ times a minute? i was able to spin 400+ RPM just about a week before christmas. but then i bought a gaming mouse pad and i realized my mouse suck so i spin like a total noob of like only 180-200 now.

Play Maps with higher AR. or if you want play with HR on some easy and normal maps. someday you can play hidden too

Getting s on hards took 1-2 weeks, on insanes 2 months
Started playing with mods on day 1
Scarlet Rose is impossible 5 months if you want a serious answer
I did a few top 50 ranks after 3 months
Was spinning 400+ after a few days

Also hidden isn't difficult at all, just play it and get used to it.

Holy hell probably 4 or 5 months in, I really only played normal difficulty songs until a friend forced me to play hards/insanes

Hard: about 1 month I think (I could FC some of them since day one, but I couldn't get accuracy)
Insane: about 1 year I think (unless you count "Insanes" that are very easy)

Since day one for Easy/Normal difficulties. About 1 year for Hards, and about 1 year and half for some Insanes (mostly hidden only).

That particular map about 2 months ago (but I haven't really tried it before), maps with similar difficulty about 1 year and half (though with near a hundred, or dozens of retries at first, and gradually reducing the amount of tries needed)

2 months I think (in this map https://osu.ppy.sh/b/47886, the record was refreshed about a year ago by getting 1000 more on the spinner. Edit: the record was refreshed today, but the replay got glitched -> the replay shows I got 1,100 more than I really got in the play)

Since day one ~415rpm (when I started I had a grip that let me spin faster than now, when I want to spin fast I return to the old grip momentarily)

Playing Hidden I think comes naturally by playing a lot, when you are used to read maps you don't need the approach circles anymore most of the time.

7 to 12 months.

on a good day i can spin 420 average. But took a year+ i guess.

How do people play with Hidden?
When you start playing songs with AR9+ you will notice that hidden is barely a factor. Heck with AR10 it doesn't even make a difference. Only on stacked notes.
Hidden is only hard on low AR maps like the ones new people are playing.

Took ~1 month for mouse, but when I changed to tablet, it took only a couple of days

Played easy and normals with mods after about 1-2 weeks (mouse) and immediately on tablet

- be able to play maps like Lily - Scarlet Rose all the way to the end?
I've reached near the end a few times after about 6 months of playing but never really finished since stamina problems

- get ranked as first or top 50 on a map?
After about 6 months (only on newly released maps, I don't get first/top 50 on popular maps)

- be able to spin 400+ times a minute?
I sometimes get 400+ spm but that's only if I try really really hard to spin fast (started being able to after 4 months or so)

5 years, apparently (but I only started playing again since a few weeks ago, I haven't played that much in between)

shortly after playing the game for the first time, I especially loved DoubleTime

nope, but I practice these using nofail. I like distorted love song better, personally

Anywhere from 5-10k plays I think.

10k plays to use double time on most hard songs

- be able to play maps like Lily - Scarlet Rose all the way to the end?
10k plays after specifically practicing my alternating for a while. Haven't cleared it 100% but I've cleared it about 96% (was real sad)

- get ranked as first or top 50 on a map?
When I was able to introduce mods

- be able to spin 400+ times a minute?
10k plays

As for the hidden thing, It becomes very easy/second nature when you actually play to the rhythm.

There are some really easy hard/insane maps. My accuracy sucks balls, but I got some S after a month or so

after 2 months my first hidden, DT on slower songs in about month or so

Can't give an accurate guess, the earliest I could find was 5 months and it was a pretty hard *hard* map, as in records with 98% and hidden in the top 50. Probably something like 3-4 months was when I could do it consistantly.

I started using HR/DT on easy's shortly after starting.

I still can't do a lot of them. I've come very close to completing airman (10 or so seconds from the end) and passed talent shredder though. Quite recently, so about a year after playing to pass my first "map like scarlet rose"

After 8 or so months I started playing easys with all mods for easy sub-50 ranks. Rather meaningless thing to do, but yeah. I can't get sub-50 in hard/norms yet (I have before because the map was new but that doesn't count).

- be able to spin 400+ times a minute?
I could probably spin 400+ spm very briefly shortly after starting, as soon as I got my tablet I could do it briefly. I can't do it consistantly though, nor do I aim to (it's too tiring to always spin as fast as you can >.>)

-to get an S or above on hard/insane maps: idk like, 3 months maybe. I spent my first 4 months or so playing mostly normals, but did some hard diffs at the time.

-start playing with mods that increase difficulty: using hidden in just about everything now. I can't use the other mods to save my life TwT

-be able to play maps like Scarlet Rose all the way to the end: I can't even pass the beginning wtf?

-get ranked as first or top 50 in a map: I wish I had a rank 1... got my first leaderboard right after my first week playing. (on an easy diff, it's still there at rank 4 I think)

-be able to spin 400+: I use to, my spins are utter crap now.

Hidden is the best mod ever <3

I could "spam" all the way to the end quite early, but getting a decent pass took me more than a year for sure.

this one was my first top 50 I guess, and it was two years ago so... about a month or two.

First day, I'm still able to do it but I only spin like that on last spinners at the end of the songs when I'm not too lazy / when I really want to reach that top 50
