or just drawings just like in group stages but with 1st place and 2nd place pool

It's already randomized because of the first drawing - A1 vs H2 and so on seems ok as it was in the previous OWC, I don't see why would it change here. Seems like you just want to play against easier opponents to me.

Comments on the maps:
Doku Ryuu no Kobura as Hidden. Jesus fucking christ. Even cptnXn, a Flashlight player commented on it. Seriously, the map not only requires memorizing, but also can't be FC'd with Hidden without going into the editor to see what is actually there, randomly put under some slider. I requested a replacement for this pick, but my suggestion was obviously ignored (using light terminology for what happened).

Deep Sea on LC diff. The Insane diff is far better than it. LC diff feels overmapped and not really that good. I got confirmed that it only made it there because it's AR8. Ridiculous again.

Grim would make a nice freemod (perhaps instead of Deep Sea for example).

The rest of maps seem fine, I love DTs especially. Good job on that part.

I requesting to change this - 1st place from group with 1st place from other group, not 1st with 2nd!!!!
I think it will make next owc round more interesting and competive.

With all the respect, this is the stupidest idea here so far. I know it would be KIND of interesting to see some theoretically weaker teams in further stages, but the tournament is all about the best ones, right? It would be unfair if e.g. Japan didn't make it to top 8 because they had to fight Korea in 1/16 but France did win with Russia. This is all implying that Japan is far better than France and Russia.

Since the mappool isn't as hard as it will be later, you can now try and fight your opponents. Nobody is gonna appreciate making it to top 8 via easy method.

Btw, I don't see why the maps from the pool can't be changed after receiving feedback. If you do it quickly enough it's no big deal.

@farto: Don't wanna start a drama or useless discussion or anything, but let me just say that LC's Deep Sea is an amazing map and far better than anything anybody else could have mapped for the song.

Oh yeah, I would have liked Skystar diff for Kodoku Egoism but meh.
