I don't understand why people hate sao so much. Sure, second season went downhill in terms of plot, but the first season (even though a bit rushed) had fantastic scenes (especially bossbattles).
It went out as an action adventure and nailed those so damn well. Ofc the shabby rushed romances and random fillers threw one off a bit, but I can't say it wasn't the one series I couldn't wait for every week and always delivered satisfaction and wanting for more.
It almost feels like people must hate it openly to gain otaku cred, while at the same time they enjoy shit like lucky star.
