Best and worst gaming communities you've been a part of

Best: Probably osu!. Sure, I'd agree that there's a couple of so-called "terrible people" on here, but the people I've met here are more friendly and welcoming than any other community I've been to (or perhaps it may be because of my efforts to meet new people here compared to other places).

Worst: Easily HoN. I thought LoL's community was pretty bad, but I've never been called (and I quote) a "dumbshit that deserves verbal scolding" in LoL (not to mention that LoL doesn't have voice chat). The community as well as the game environment is not welcoming at all. At least S2 Games is realizing how bad the situation is, as they're actively working to minimize the amount of rage-inducing game mechanics in their next game.

Hon has been around since 2010 iirc, it hasn't changed one bit since they made it f2p. After playing for a total of around 5000~5050 matches ( i lost count at one point). The raging has started since that moment and the amount of smurfs that are being created at a constant rate is just absurd, I doubt anytime soon they'll be able to fix the problem with little kids raging, flaming towards you and people going full retarded against new players

osu!'s not a great community, not a terrible one either. There's a lot of shite in it, but there are plenty of really nice people.

Just to humor the thought, you'd pretty much fail. You personally don't own Elite Beat Agents, and thus can't file a law suit on osu! for it, and even if you somehow could, Peppy isn't making money off of it. Yes, there are those who donate to earn supporter tags and what not, but even then, it's just that. Donations. Plus, I'm sure if you read through the legal info linked at the bottom of the site, you'll find more reasons why lawsuits would fail.

Allow me to elaborate before throwing tomatoes at me;
It's kind of a love-hate thing going on here. I absolutely HATE griefers and retards, but even so, there's nothing that beats having a bad day and using a trash acc to grief and accumulate rage from your allies because you know exactly how mad one gets and the creativity of combining bad words together that a mad nerd can form is hilarious to say the least (funnier if 2-3 friends).

Yes, I might be a small part of HoNs reason for having a shitty community, but once you're in, you can't fkn stop! :D it's fun and that's what games should provide for me but aren't atm.

Also, by the way, Dota/LoL is really a trend in China. 50% of the people who play computers in China play Dota/LoL.

mannn tf2's community is not nearly that bad.

i'd have to say facepunch is by far the worst community i've ever been a part of. it's like a bunch of people who like SA tried to start a clone of it and substituted actual community engagement for stupid quirkiness
