Are there any maps that are easy with no-mod but hard/impossible with hidden mod on?

That's pretty much player dependant. You got players who say Hidden is not a problem on jumpy maps at all and that the only difficulty they add is because of hits you can't really see (overlaps, hits under sliders), and then again you get people who say Hidden's difficulty comes from the fact that aiming/reading is harder.

What I'm sure many people will agree is that low AR + Hidden is usually very hard because of reading difficulty. If you feel Hidden is hard because of circles you can't see you can try Netoge by lalarun, if it's the other case I'd say any jumpy map with lots of patterns (there are a lot of those I don't even need to tell).

Have you tried Shinxyn maps? lolol those things are hard as hell to fc with hidden. but maps like those i love playing with hidden.

btw if you want a hard song to hd, try this

The only things that legitimately become harder with HD added compared to nomod are patterns that are possible to play without reading them.

So, for example:

1. Low AR linejumps
2. Spaced streams

On nomod you can play those without actually reading them right as they appear on the screen, since it's predictable, but with HD you'll still have to read anything to play the map correctly.

So basically just look for low AR maps with spaced streams.

Any Insane maps with Easy+Hidden mods.

Try playing a map you've gotten S or SS with Hard Rock and Hidden, with the new AR you are guaranteed a quick fail lol.

Any map with a lot of stacked notes (specially if they have a different time spacing) is hard with Hidden, that's why you have to pretty much memorize the map layout to FC it.

Variable bpm. This also holds true on maps like pluto where the map contantly changes bpm.
silmarilen
any map that doesnt follow the rhythm

High AR makes Hidden easier.

Well that's more of a joke map.

i've always thot of hidden as something you can just get better at without using the mod itself. at least that's what i did. Never practiced it in my life, but some reason apparently some people say i'm decent at it. idk.

It might just be how I play tho, since I don't actually look approach circles anyways for the most part even with nomod

Pffft that's not hard. If you FC Cosmic with HD you're a complete casual beginner

I actually like playing hidden better than nomod, because it removes a lot of clutter around the screen. I feel like I read better, except notes that are fully stacked (no stack leniency I believe it is called?) in the case of hidden at the ends of sliders and under or on top of sliders.pretty much as long as there is some note separation, I think my reading in general improves.

Fix your offset and stop playing visually. Hidden becomes a very easy mod once you learn ro play by ear rather than play by sight. Visually yea you still have to read the notes, but audibly timing them is not all that difficult. Learn the way osu! music theory works and you'll pretty much be able to play anything. It just comes down to how well you react to what notes are thrown at you. Staying calm and trying to predict and sense for repition really helps as well. This applies with DT and HR as well. FL is an exception. If the AR is low enough FL is sightreadable (long maps not really though, fear the tiny view area).

eh..I would consider any map that you can get in the top50 with a sloppy HD FC to be 'hard' with hidden. Whether it's low AR, intricate patterns, or many hidden notes, I'm sure each of these maps have a good reason why the scoreboard has nomod FCs.
GoldenWolf
Mostly because they're hard even nomod, or maybe not played that much, or even the map isn't good (maybe bad) :D
I tried Space Rainbow, got 3x miss with HD in ~5 tries, I wouldn't consider it hard to HD, considering how bad I am with this mod :<

need to put DT on to make it hard

you see, all the scoreboard is DT only

also, izayoi sakura (http://osu.ppy.sh/s/25491) is hard with hid too

Just FC'ed this map with HD, I think it's really hard because the rythm is just really strange and changes a lot of times
http://osu.ppy.sh/b/221347

Also old maps like this one, same reason, annoying rhytm
http://osu.ppy.sh/b/26822&m=0

These maps actually aren't really hard maps, but just to get that high accuracy isn't really easy
Pizzicato
Any maps with AR8 is hard for me to HD :(
