I map for fun, because I liked the song, or I think I'd make a fun map out of a certain song. I get them ranked because I want others to enjoy what I did.

Mainly a way for me to make art. Let's be honest though, I was hoping for a bit of recognition from mapping. Oh the disappointment.
A plus on that as well :3mm201 wrote:
Because I want to make something people will have fun with. Since I would have a hard time understanding what others find fun, I start with what I find fun. Creating an experience where the player feels like part of the song is a big part of that.

I have to ask about the last point. How often do you cringe at your old stuff? As I still haven't ranked my first proper attempt, going back to it is going to be a huge cringe fest.Garven wrote:
I map songs that I like in a style that I find fun. Seeing it through to ranking is a chore, but it makes the task that much, sweeter if you collaborate with some friends. Mapping meaningful themes is also pretty fun, though I know itll go unappreciated by most. I still enjoy pulling out my old maps from time to time (even all the old guest easies) as well, and it works as a nice gauge of how far I have progressed in mapping.
Honestly, it's a money waste. For me.Andrea wrote:
