Why do many players single tap with their middle finger?

Tapping with my index finger because more speed and stamina.
I can tap with both equally, but I can only start streams with my middle finger.
My index is faster, but it's harder for me to control. My middle finger is more accurate and responds more frequently, but there's a slight lag between each tap. Index for speed, middle for accuracy. I can't really say I use one significantly more than the other. That's why I alternate when I can.
My index finger is the finger I use when I press the most common keyboard buttons when writing/playing something. My middle finger always comes second when pushing/pressing buttons.
I believe it's just personal preferences, it's based on what people are comfortable with.
I play with index finger as primary tap, mainly because index finger is my strongest finger as I can tap faster and more endurance with that finger than any others.
I also felt a weird "bland" feeling when I tried tapping with only middle finger. Not sure why...

I single tap a lot with index but I can also single tap with middle finger. My play style has been alternating at random moments lately though.
I singletap with my middle finger because a lot of shmups on the PC use the Z key to fire.
I mostly tap using my second finger on circles and middle finger on sliders

I only do this with streamy map because I can only start a stream with middle finger. But if I already remember when to switch to start stream, I use my other finger.

. Can't really explain why, but I just feel it's a lot more comfortable doing that way than the opposite.
Though generally speaking, people are different, they find 1 way more comfortable than the other, so they'll stick to the way it's more comfortable and easier to play with.. it's standard.

I tested with middle finger and I could suddenly full-300 170 bpm streams, so it seems it's better than index after all

Just as it was already said, it really is a matter of preference. Most top players singletap with index finger, less people singletap with middle finger. My middle finger hurts if I singletap with it too much.
