You said you liked Elfen Lied and Mirai Nikki, so I was going to recommend Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, but if you want something more fantasy I am going to say Umineko No Naku Koro Ni.

Well i couldn't manage to chose wich one to start with so i read both plots and then choose Umineko Even though I know that summarys are not always representative of the anime ^^
But if i like it i'll definitely watch the other one as, as u said, they are from the same series !
