I'm not sure where this should be posted - hopefully I have picked the correct section.
I find it wholly inappropriate that the word 'gay' is replaced with 'straight' in osu! chat, even with the language filter option turned off. I don't find homophobic misuse of the word 'gay' offensive at all nor do the majority of other gay people that I have talked to. However I find this word filtering pretty offensive, as it completely changes the meaning of chat messages in private multiplayer chat without the person speaking even being aware what they have said has been altered. I am aware the game is targeted at a 13+ (or 3+?) audience, and I simply find it inappropriate and ridiculous the need was felt to add this filter for such an audience. I hope I will not be met with homophobia in a game I thought I could trust to be the exact opposite. Edit: For the avoidance of doubt, changing what the word is filtered to or making it obey the language filter option is not good enough. The filter needs to go completely. I understand that the word "gay" is filtered, but not to "straight". If I wanted to say "I am proud to be gay", it would turn into "I am proud to be straight". That is a bit of an issue.
Sorry if my english is off, I only speak Canadian.
