What I'm talking about is that when you post something here on the forums, you don't get notified when people comment on it and you have to manually search for the thread, then find your post and check if there are any replies.

I would like there to be some sort of inbox where the replies to your posts would appear.

Bottom right of the screen, there is a bookmark thing, one with notifications. I guess this is what you are talking about. This is disabled by default because some people like gmt post in dozens of threads a day, they would just get spammed back.
