I was actually playing a few of these just last night. They really do hold up well. Kind of a shame that some would be unrankable nowadays.

Also, is it weird that most of my favorite ranked maps lately tend to be the ones with <9.0 user rating?

Maps improve as the rating goes down. It's been scientifically proven.
