Normal
01:46:754 (106754|2) - add note I'm avoiding these to focus vocals + lower normal density

Hard
01:34:657 (94657|1) - move to 3 this is an intentional pattern
02:40:302 (160302|2) - double that sound alone isn't worth two, contrasting with other sounds

PLEASE give a small reason as to why you think I should do each thing, it really improves your mod quality D:

  1. 01:36:270 (96270|3) - col 3 i use jacks on this sound
  2. 01:36:431 (96431|2) - col 1 i think it follows PR well
  3. 01:49:496 (109496|0) - col 4 I don't know why this is going to improve, I personally think it's fine
  4. 01:49:657 (109657|3) - col 2
  5. 01:50:141 (110141|1,110463|1,110786|1,111109|1) - anchor maybe you can try this https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9078335 move 1-2 things to avoid jack
  6. 02:39:980 - https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9078352 "ctrl-h this section for PR", imo flow is more important here
  7. 02:54:818 - 3 note fix
  8. 02:47:238 (167238|3,167399|3) - col 3 there's the bass thingy, so i'm using jack here
  9. 02:47:721 (167721|2) - col 4 i prefer not having jacks after 3/4 slider, noticed 02:58:367 (178367|0) - was doing it so fix
  10. 02:50:141 (170141|1) - ghost note ? general pitch has a shift on this snap

Hard
  1. 01:42:076 (102076|2,102238|1) - move right why tho
  2. 01:42:399 (102399|1,102560|0) - ctrl+J wut
  3. 01:42:721 (102721|1) - col 1 ok just screenshot the pattern next time
sory short mod, i hope this helpful :)

intentional tbh

keep in mind i mod without looking out for SVs or HS so youll have to keep that in mind

insane

few intro thoughts

01:22:560 - to 01:43:205 - i personally dont think this part really should include anything more than a jump (double)
just because the music itself is kinda snaking around at this point in time and to me, the triples feel a bit artificially forced
01:43:205 - past this point however you can hear a pretty obvious change in the music which to me indicates an increase in intensity so triples after this should work fine

there are a lot of places where you can place down a few polyrhythms to vary things a little but idk if youre comfortable with it so ill just leave a few timing points here and there as a start
01:26:592 - sounds like rocks being thrown, think theyre on 1/6
01:29:657 - to 01:30:786 - sounds like the click of the mouse, think theyre also on 1/6
etc. etc.

you can definitely be more obnoxious with your wub bursts; theyre wubs for a reason after all
01:42:963 (102963|2,103044|1,103125|0) - could be 1/8 jacks or trills, ditch the LN
01:53:286 (113286|2,113367|1,113447|0) - check this part again, p.sure its 1/6 after 01:53:367 - also ditch the LN again
02:03:528 (123528|3,123609|2,123689|1,123770|0) - same as before, 1/8 stuff; you can also double at 02:03:689 - for emphasis on the gong sound
e.g.

if youre uncomfortable with the jacking then

is also viable (btw 02:03:850 - idk why this is tripled, no snare/crash so)

ok to the mod

01:30:947 (90947|3,91109|3,91270|3) - intentional?
01:31:431 (91431|2) - you should put more emphasis on this part of this wub

--------------------------

01:32:238 (92238|0,92560|3) - seems a bit disingenuous to me:

1) 01:32:238 - should be tripled?
01:32:883 (92883|1,92883|0,92883|2) - somewhat get why this is tripled, but i don't believe it should cause

2) the music here kinda should be a break from your typical 1/4 shenanigans from before, so the LNs dont exactly cut it

would suggest removing 01:32:560 (92560|3) - 01:32:238 (92238|0) - and making 01:32:238 - a proper triple, and then stacking 01:32:399 (92399|2) - on it
01:32:721 - 01:32:560 - given how these basically have the same snare sound you can keep the stack

now if you look (or hear same thing idc) closely at 01:32:721 - there's a pretty obvious sudden wub that you can capitalize on
and so on so forth, think you should get the logic here

--------------------------

01:25:786 (85786|2,85786|3,85947|2) - its neat that you placed emphasis on the higher tone by stacking but
01:27:399 (87399|2,87560|1) - it died here sadly
you could possibly use a short LN just exclusively for that high pitched tone but idk thought id bring this up to you

&& 01:38:044 (98044|2,98689|2,99334|1) - these wouldve been fine if there werent other LNs emphasizing other things
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9084910 there are other ways to go about representing the sounds here, maybe you should look into that

01:44:334 (104334|2,104496|2) - not sure what this is for
01:45:463 (105463|0,105463|3) - doubled?
01:46:431 - should be tripled no
if you think 212 or 343s look ugly then try
01:47:076 (107076|0) - ditch the LN, theres so much more going on the music here that id prefer you focus on
01:47:076 - 01:47:399 - has those 1/8 hihats, which can be differentiated
01:48:205 - ending dense wub is left untouched too
more stuff
if you look close the wub at 01:47:399 - utilizes only 1 hand while the other doesnt (and is easier to hit); i felt that the second 1/8 should deserve a bit more kick since its a little feistier than the last one

ending LN is for the wub, i didnt cut it like the one i mentioned beforehand because it now actually goes all the way

BTW if you chose to do the 1/8 stuff then 01:44:818 - 01:46:270 - look out for the other wubs outside that part to make sure what youre doing is actually consistent

01:48:367 (108367|3,109012|3,109657|0) - think you should know by now, you can very easily apply the old principle (&&) here and add on some more emphasis given how the music now gives those 1/8 hihat things

same applies for the next section, hope you now know what to do

breaktime is fine btw but reset the breaktime button in the section again pls the non-breaktime parts are too long

02:06:431 (126431|3,127076|2,127721|1,128367|0) - are you sure these exist idk i cant here them except for that echo which are all the same pitches

02:40:302 (160302|0,161270|0,161592|0) - why are these single

kiai--------------------------------------------------

first off id rather you keep to just tripling snares in this whole section, youll see why with the few things imma suggest

the kiai a little bit iffy to me, playability wise yeah the kiai is fine but

02:45:947 - 02:46:109 - 02:46:270 - if you look at these parts there are pretty succinct wubs on all three of them, but the pattern seems to be structured in such a way that it ignores the triplet somewhat
suggestion
id be perfectly fine if you were to at least take into account all of the wubs in question like so, and i feel like if 02:46:431 - wasnt a triple youd have a bit more creative freedom to do stuff to this part (and all other similar ones)
02:51:109 (171109|3,171270|0,171324|1,171377|2,171431|3) - this is something id be willing to accept, it gets the job done

02:47:076 (167076|3,167238|3,167399|3) - not quite sure why the wub is lumped together with the percussion, will assume its because its a victim of circumstance due to 02:47:721 - triple

02:48:044 - wub has a pretty defined wobble which you can use 1/8s to capture here

02:59:980 - should be triple, dont be afraid of 1/8s its 93 bpm

03:05:141 (185141|1,185141|2,185141|0,185302|3,185463|1,185463|0,185463|2) - 03:04:496 (184496|2,184496|1,184496|3,184657|0,184818|1,184818|2,184818|3) - structurally speaking these are one and the same (only discernible difference is just the transition between these two structurally similar parts), and its easy to lose on the player what a triple is supposed to mean if you allow it to represent two different entities at the same time

i think the mod of the first part can very easily apply to the second, so ill leave you be for that then

ok im tired ill get back to you in 2 days i think i have another mod schedule idm if you kds or dont

the argument here is just "03:04:818 - is pretty much weaker than 03:05:141 - in intensity so its weird that 03:04:818 (184818|2,184818|1,184818|3,185141|0,185141|2,185141|1) - theyre layered the same" i kinda just fleshed out that argument a bit more so its more convincing but idk think i overdid it

nice work on the insane diff though

the rest of the mod

hard

01:23:528 (83528|1,83689|1,84173|1,84334|1) - maybe shift these stacks, might be a little straining

01:46:109 (106109|2,106431|2,106754|2,107076|2,107399|2,107721|2) - shift these?

i actually looked through hard once and it seems pretty alright to me so a lot of the suggestions would be nitpicky

01:52:076 (112076|1,112238|2) - you should shift this once to the right so 01:51:915 - 01:52:238 - are the same chords, following the beat in the music
01:51:592 (111592|0,111754|1,111915|0,112076|1,112238|0) - also because of this

02:25:141 (145141|3,145141|0,145786|0,145786|3) - make these different chords cause the pitches of the piano aren't the same

02:54:818 (174818|1,174980|0) - could stack these for the percussion

03:09:980 (189980|2,190141|2,190302|2) - :blobsweats:

i do see some form of logic to how and where you placed the notes in the kiai (which is good), but at 02:48:367 (168367|3) - i think you should note these beats at least, because you already did so at 02:45:947 (165947|3) - and also ignoring them at this difficulty is a bit odd to me

03:11:754 (191754|0) - isnt this supposed to be a note? seeing 03:09:173 (189173|0) - 03:16:915 (196915|1) - and stuff

03:18:367 (198367|0) - part is a little bit LN heavy, might be a bit too much for players here - you *could* delete 03:18:367 (198367|1) - and it'll still somewhat be fine

03:20:463 (200463|2,200544|3,200625|2) - this trill uses only one hand and can be unexpectedly difficult, so you might wanna edit it

normal

01:24:657 - note pls
01:29:818 - can see the logic behind how you decided to place the notes, but again - you're kinda skipping over something pretty obvious to the player imo
i''m aware that you want to emphasize further on the dong sound at 01:24:496 - so here's a possible solution https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9100109
If you notice at 01:24:496 - there's a 434 or one-handed trill; i figured this would be a better way of pointing out the subtle dong to the player. if you need some help structuring some of your patterns then feel free to ask

01:29:012 (89012|3,89173|2,89334|3,89496|2,89657|3) - too dense on the left hand, it's a bit unbalanced for the player to hit

01:41:109 (101109|2,101270|2) - maybe try not to stack, 01:41:270 (101270|2,101350|3) - is a bit weird to hit for newbs and 01:40:947 (100947|3,101109|2,101270|2) - makes the weird pattern harder to hit as it strains the hand

01:43:689 (103689|1,104012|1,104334|1,104657|1) - a little unbalanced, but i kinda see what youre doing here

01:48:205 (108205|2) - delete, you didnt place a note here back at 01:48:205 (108205|2) -
01:50:786 (110786|1) - or perhaps its 01:48:205 (108205|2) - that is wrong
make sure to edit the other sections

01:48:044 (108044|1,108367|1,108689|1,109173|1,109496|1,109818|1,110141|1) - patterns here are pretty left-hand biased, might want to look into that

01:52:721 (112721|2) - a bit confusing since 01:52:238 (112238|0,112560|3,112883|1) - these LNs clearly tell me that you're following the whistle, and it might throw players off when you put notes for the bass beats too (keep in mind this is a normal so)

02:03:205 (123205|2) - lower pitch than 02:02:238 (122238|1) - so might want to shift 02:02:238 (122238|1) - to 1

02:37:560 (157560|3,157721|2,157883|3,158044|2,158367|3,158528|2,158850|2,159012|3,159173|2,159334|3,159496|2) - kinda get what you tried to do, but its a bit too much on the right imo
03:21:592 (201592|0,201754|1,201915|0,202076|1,202238|0) - also a bit wewlad on the left

kiai looks fine though

easy

01:24:818 (84818|3) - not quite sure why you noted this, there's no percussion there

01:29:334 (89334|3,89496|2,89657|3) - one hand trill might be a bit overkill for this difficulty

01:41:270 (101270|0) - personal opinion but i'd rather have the LN start here tbh, the gallops ( 01:41:754 (101754|3,101915|2) - ) themselves are just note to note so to suddenly changing to note to LN might throw some players off

02:40:302 - 02:41:592 - think you should just note these, it's awkward for the player if you don't

03:11:592 (191592|0,191915|0) - could choose to not stack these, since the beats here aren't the same as 03:12:883 (192883|2,193205|2) -

i think it currently looks fine, should be bubblable barring some minor layering stuff i didn't want to bother to poke around about

01:25:786 (85786|2,85786|3,85947|2) - it's neat that you placed emphasis on the higher tone by stacking but
01:27:399 (87399|2,87560|1) - it died here sadly
you could possibly use a short LN just exclusively for that high-pitched tone but idk thought id bring this up to you nah
issue is regarding the inconsistency in the emphasis, if 01:25:786 (85786|3,85786|2,85947|3) - and 01:27:399 (87399|2,87560|3) - are essentially the same in tone then i don't really understand why they're patterned differently fixed oops, keeping 01:51:754 (111754|0) - tho since flow is more important

&& 01:38:044 (98044|2,98689|2,99334|1) - these would've been fine if there weren't other LNs emphasizing other things
https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/9084910 there are other ways to go about representing the sounds here, maybe you should look into that idk how though
its fine now since you cleared out the LNs from before

Hey!

First of all, you can add Blood Orange EP to the tags because that is the album the song is from

Just some quick thoughts on easy

(| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |)

  1. 01:27:721 (87721|1,87721|3) - This seems to be the only time you have 2 notes on a normal kick besides for during the buildup here 01:31:592 (91592|0,91592|1) - so I think you should remove the note in 2
  2. 02:39:980 (159980|0,160302|1,160625|3,160947|3,161270|0,161592|1,161915|3,162238|3) - This part seems weird, because the two ascending notes are represented with a jack and the two kicks are represented with ascending notes. I feel like you should change this so that 02:39:980 (159980|0,160302|1) - are both in 1 and 02:40:625 (160625|3,160947|3) - are in 3 and 4 to match the song (and same for 02:41:270 (161270|0,161592|1,161915|3,162238|3) )
also on normal

  1. 01:24:496 (84496|1,84496|0,84818|2) - At least to me, it sounds like there should be something in between here yet theres no note. (this applies to all of these parts) just imo
  2. 03:05:786 (185786|3,185786|1,186109|0,186270|1,186431|0,186431|2) - Patterns like these might be a little too hard for people who play normals, but I think it might be okay

  2. 03:05:786 (185786|3,185786|1,186109|0,186270|1,186431|0,186431|2) - Patterns like these might be a little too hard for people who play normals, but I think it might be okay I tried to keep roughly same density as this set https://osu.ppy.sh/b/778353
lol sorry for bad mod, but hope it helped :) thanks! clearly explained + all were valid points
unrelated but added some really easy SVs at easiest parts of hard diff, felt should at least have some

+Insane, 03:18:367 (198367|2,198528|3) - now has a slightly inconsistent SV, but it's the only place with 1/2 LNs for violins, so I lowered the contrast between them to be a bit more readable

M4M Req: t/641620
columns: 0|1|2|3
  1. I would definitely cut the MP3 to save a bit on file size. 1:21 minutes + 21 seconds = 1:42 total of no playing time, while we have 1:44 seconds of playing time.
  2. Either map more or cut cause 50:50 ratio is pretty staggering

EZ
01:31:270 (91270|2) - LN this. Would help add some kind of pause/bounce effect on 01:31:592 (91592|0,91592|1) I think it is okay to leave 01:31:431 empty since the sound happens only once during the intro and noting it along with this LN suggestion might be too hard.
01:32:560 (92560|1) - I would use a single note here instead + a note 01:32:721 - to 1) match the structure 01:24:173 (84173|3,84334|2,84496|1,84496|0) and 2) to map that snare on the blue tick.
01:38:689 - Add second note here for the claps. Example) 01:34:818 (94818|2,94818|3)
01:39:657 - Add note
01:39:980 (99980|0) - Add second note here for the claps.
>>
01:29:334 (89334|3,89496|2,89657|0,89657|1) - Maybe have this one ascending and...
01:34:496 (94496|0,94657|1,94818|2,94818|3) - descending...
That way the 3 patterns will be --> descend, ascend, descend instead of descend, descend, ascend.
>>
01:37:883 - Note?
01:41:915 (101915|2) - Maybe make this an 1/1 LN for the rising synth? The synth is sidechained at 01:42:560 and then recovers at 01:42:883 so if we add the LN here it feels cool.
01:48:205 - Note?
01:50:947 (110947|1,110947|0,111270|3) - These both should be the same, either both chords or a single note. Take your pick.
01:58:528 - Note?
02:03:850 - Personally, and I don't play mania so I don't know if it's acceptable or not, but I'd use a really long ass LN here for the entire break section. xD
>>
03:10:141 - How about this? https://imgur.com/a/EJ16D
02:49:496 and 03:10:141 are mapped differently.
I would do my suggestion because I don't believe the LN 03:10:302 (190302|0) works best for that particular moment and also 2-note chord to represent the snare.

NM
01:26:109 - Would it be too weird to put a 1/2 LN here for that air noise?
01:36:431 - Same as ^
01:32:560 - What's the difference between this and 01:42:883 for the first one to not have an LN?
01:45:786 (105786|0) - Shouldn't one of these be an LN? Example) 01:45:786 (105786|0) - 01:48:367 (108367|3) - 01:50:947 (110947|2)
01:51:592 - One of these should be an LN, whistle sound
01:51:915 - LN, whistle sound
02:03:850 - Same as EZ
03:15:463 (195463|3) - No LN needed here. Every LN in the kiai so far have either been strings or squelchy bass thingy, this is neither of them.

Good luck.

Would help add some kind of pause/bounce effect on 01:31:592 (91592|0,91592|1) I think it is okay to leave 01:31:431 empty since the sound happens only once during the intro and noting it along with this LN suggestion might be too hard. added LN
01:32:560 (92560|1) - I would use a single note here instead + a note 01:32:721 - to 1) match the structure 01:24:173 (84173|3,84334|2,84496|1,84496|0) and 2) to map that snare on the blue tick. first one ends on a clap, second one ends on a downbeat, adding note too dense for EZ + maps wub
01:38:689 - Add second note here for the claps. Example) 01:34:818 (94818|2,94818|3) Good idea, but here I wanted to focus horn more. Makes the LNs more distinct and better emphasis on the change at 01:41:270 (101270|1) -
01:39:657 - Add note
01:39:980 (99980|0) - Add second note here for the claps.
>>
01:29:334 (89334|3,89496|2,89657|0,89657|1) - Maybe have this one ascending and...
01:34:496 (94496|0,94657|1,94818|2,94818|3) - descending...
That way the 3 patterns will be --> descend, ascend, descend instead of descend, descend, ascend. good idea, changed first instead so ascend, descend, ascend
>>
01:37:883 - Note? fits but would mess with the horn emphasis i mentioned before
01:41:915 (101915|2) - Maybe make this an 1/1 LN for the rising synth? The synth is sidechained at 01:42:560 and then recovers at 01:42:883 so if we add the LN here it feels cool. fits, but compare how LNs are used, they're only on really unique sounds + horn
01:48:205 - Note? doesn't fit before large downbeat
01:50:947 (110947|1,110947|0,111270|3) - These both should be the same, either both chords or a single note. Take your pick. one has the horn, they aren't the same
01:58:528 - Note? in future mods, just paste the timestamp like this below
(not a mod) 01:37:883 - 01:48:205 - 01:58:528 - takes less space since it's the same thing + easier for both people to read :)
02:03:850 - Personally, and I don't play mania so I don't know if it's acceptable or not, but I'd use a really long ass LN here for the entire break section. xD lmao no
>>
03:10:141 - How about this? https://imgur.com/a/EJ16D 1/4 LN is too much for ez
02:49:496 and 03:10:141 are mapped differently. yea noticed i missed a note on the snare with previous point
I would do my suggestion because I don't believe the LN 03:10:302 (190302|0) works best for that particular moment and also 2-note chord to represent the snare.

NM
01:26:109 - Would it be too weird to put a 1/2 LN here for that air noise? nah, some might but personal style I only like to follow the clearest melody
01:36:431 - Same as ^
01:32:560 - What's the difference between this and 01:42:883 for the first one to not have an LN? used a jack in first one to follow drum, adding LN would be too much for NM. In second there is no drum, so I used two LN to highligh the wub sound
01:45:786 (105786|0) - Shouldn't one of these be an LN? Example) 01:45:786 (105786|0) - 01:48:367 (108367|3) - 01:50:947 (110947|2) yea missed those lul, ty
01:51:592 - One of these should be an LN, whistle sound whistle isn't dominant yet
01:51:915 - LN, whistle sound
02:03:850 - Same as EZ
03:15:463 (195463|3) - No LN needed here. Every LN in the kiai so far have either been strings or squelchy bass thingy, this is neither of them. changed pattern to be same as other one

Good luck. will finish up your mod soon, thank you!

Not gonna check SVs because I'm assuming you've already averaged them and got them under control. They play fine, kiai is a bit weird but meh

Your offsets negative, don't do this. Bubbles get popped because of this

Leaving the first third of the song unmapped is kind of weird. I get why you did it and it's not against the RC because it's the intro but it's still weird. Adds almost 2MB to the folder size which is pretty significant for poor connections like me. You could easily cut out the first 60 seconds and start it where the quiet section is around 1:05

Some hitsound inconsistencies between diffs for example here, also don't double hitsound like this

softclap.wav blends in way too much with the song. I can barely hear it at all when it's used and I generally have my effects volume pretty high up. Swap it out for something a little more noticeable

Tags conflict between diffs

Not sure why there's an .osb when there's no storyboard

There's a nosv.osu in the folder which is not visible in game, no idea how this happened but it needs to go. Plop it in the map description or something

Hitsounds in general are very simplistic. For example 01:37:399 (97399|2) - a very different sound here but only the basic clap is used and is hence pretty much invisible

Some weird hitsound choices that i'm not sure are intentional or not (for the insane) you swap to the second soft sample set at 2:24:657 and then proceed to use whistles randomly despite them having no hitsound file attached to them, so it's just a blank sound which is definitely unrankable. As far as I can tell this is the only time you use the second sampleset and I dont know why its included.

drum-hitclap.wav seems to be unused, remove it.

Not going to delve into the patterns because I think this is toodeepforme. Lots of ghost notes like 02:49:980 (169980|1,170141|1) - (in the insane) that dont make much sense at all.

Seems like a solid map that's had a lot of thought put into the patterning but not much else. most of those "not much else" issues are addressed here though so it's not a difficult fix. Good luck!

01:58:044 (118044|3,118689|2,119334|2,119980|0,120625|0) - not really sure what these lns are representing

02:06:431 (126431|3,127076|2,127721|1,128367|0) - they were lns a second ago, doesnt make much sense to not have them lns now

alot of these are the same but i feel its very important to highlight all ( or at least i tried t ) of the 1/8s because they dont feel that fun to play.

The songs pretty cool, i disagree with the unmapped portion and break time although i get its rankable so im not going to question it further.
the 1/8s were painful to hit and the svs feel off (i dont know much about svs) made it super easy to misjudge when the next note was coming.
