Do we need longer and more varied eyelashes in modern anime?

I've been watching some older anime recently and I must say it is a complete travesty what has happened to eyelash design over time.

From the Late 1970s to late 1990s lashes had variety, beauty and have majesty to them.

On the other hand many modern shows feelso uniform in design that they barely have any and tend to lazily stick to a thick line around the eyes for their lashes. Just look at any current season show you are watching.

Of course are exceptions to this on the modern anime landscape.

This thread is basically a bastion for anyone else who likes good anime eyelashes or to celebrate any anime/manga with good eyelashes. I hope I am not alone.

gimme that ol' 70's shoujo aesthetic

or alternatively just a lot of good shoujo/josei stuff in general

Such a shame Swan never got an adaption or complete translation. The paneling in that manga is phenomenal especially the zoetrope-esque scenes for recitals.
