I'm curious as to how many beatmaps one (non-supporter) account can have ranked before its declared too much, if said limit exists.

about 4 , and after you upload 4 map you need to wait to upload a new one again until one of the old one go to the graveyard

The amount of maps you could have is 4 pending slots. Every ranked map you have will give you one additional slot (max 6 pending slot)
For supporters you could have additional 4 pending slots
Afaik there is no limit of maps you can rank or graveyarded
