General
  • Following the Difficulty Spread Guidlines, you'll need a Hard and maybe a Normal to bridge the gap between Anxient's Easy and Hyper. I assume you're waiting on a GD or are currently mapping one of those diffs though.
  • Convert .mp4 video to .wav as the former doesn't always work.


Anxient's Easy
  • 00:03:876 (2,3) - Fix blanket, at lower difficulties, minor aesthetic imperfections are more noticeable due to larger CS and lower AR:

  • 00:06:645 (2,3) - ^
  • 00:08:799 (2,1) - Avoid overlapping these:

  • 00:34:953 (3) - NC, all combos in kiai are done once per measure.
  • 00:55:415 (2,3,2,3) - Consistency is something you should prioritize in lower difficulties. I would suggest moving one of the 3's so they are synchronized to the same tempo as the other: 00:56:338 (3) - move forward 1/2 tick or 00:58:953 (3) - move back 1/2 tick on timeline. I don't think the DS is enough to differentiate for new players.
  • 01:04:568 (1) - Spinner would go nice here :)
  • 01:15:876 (3) - Moving this back 1/2 tick suites the music better.
  • 01:21:415 (4,1) - If you go with the above suggestion, I would recommend starting the NC here on 4 because at this point the player has adjusted to seeing an NC after a large DS gap on the timeline.
  • I also suggest renaming to Anxient's Normal depending on whether or not a Normal and/or diff will be mapped.

Hey, just telling you right now that the new combos are nooooot changing. They're themed around the video and fit musically just fine. The spacing and stacking are also literally the theme of the map and the entire thing is structured around it. I'll look at the rest later though, I'll edit this post.

And for future reference, you should use url tags rather than img tags while modding, it's more convenient to click them if necessary than to have the images stretch out your post.

Also, a lot of the new combo patterning is based around the melody, rather than the measure points. Big white ticks are not the holy bible of NC placement.

Hmm imma ask you about rhythm on the first 5 seconds on irc, I can't find the logic behind it right now.
00:24:722 (2,3) - Stack the ending on 00:24:184 (3) - so that the slider blankets it? 00:24:492 (1) -
00:30:492 (3,4) - I believe this jump should be spaced more, pitch is kinda high-ish

00:34:030 (3,1,3) - Could you make this tidier? I mean the blanket and the stacking.
00:36:338 (2,3,4) - putting this on 00:35:722 (5) - makes more sense, as it's weird to include full overlap, when you're going for partial overlaps.
00:37:877 (3,4,5) - Ugh what's the purpose of this slight curve, I don't see you using it anywhere else in the section.
00:40:491 (4,5,6) - I think this should partially overlap the slider, not fully.
00:41:876 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1) - hmm rotating it by 5 degrees clockwise could make it look ugh more readable, to me it looks confusing as it is.
00:56:492 (3,4,5) - I'm a bit skeptical about the scaling in the section. Section is overall more peaceful than the kiai, but these jumps are larger than any other in the chorus. Feels like reducing the spacing a bit would fit more imo
01:25:876 (4) - hm this sounds special in the sound, and should be needing more emphasis, like making it a slider too?
01:26:799 (6) - Don't hear anything that deserves a slider on an offbeat here tbh
01:33:568 (1,2,3) - Intensity is kinda high here, some spacing increasement would fit more.

00:01:568 (6,6) - These two are similar and in my opinion should both be sliders and also adjust the pauses to make em identical patterns
00:11:722 - shiirn im calling you for NC's, shouldn't the combo color be the same as the background?
00:11:568 - ugh i don't think that pauses really acomplish much in terms of structure, since you have 2 randomly used ones. One happens after a rather weak sound, while the other happens after a strong kick. I suggest filling the rhythm to fit the rest of the section.
Also shiirn calling you again, but what the heck was done here, many times when i used my left arrow key the editor stopped on its own, while the music was going, therefore needed to press space twice to fix, what the fuck
00:15:568 (2) - you usually tilt the reverse 1/4 sliders to be visually angled differently than other sliders, here its paralel to 00:16:030 (4) - or at least seems to.
00:24:953 (7,1) - 3.27x 00:27:415 (7,1) - 2.13x (if you click on 1 you can see the distance). Think the difference is a tad bit too huge, so i suggest nerfin the 3.27x jump. whats more, 00:27:568 (1) - sounds even more intense as it has a whoosh sound added to it.
00:29:876 (1) - feels weird that you're ignoring the downbeat, the whoosh sound starts on it.
00:32:492 (1,2) - on the half of the section, you've put (2) a bit next to (1), and i though you're going to switch some patterning, but no 00:34:953 (1,2) - here its stacked, therefore i suggest stacking the first one too.
00:29:568 (1,2,3) - since you decided to add huge spacing to high pitched piano sounds, 00:31:876 (1,2,3) - its a bit troublesome to tone it down when a stream comes for better playability, so i suggest nerfin the 3stack.
00:57:107 (1,1) - obligatory blanket fix to have one green.
01:19:261 (1,2,1,2,1) - mm must you really fill out the whole bottom of the grid, i personally hate playing when stuff is on the bottom ;d
01:31:107 (6) - uhm not sure why is this slider included, it has a decently clickable slider end. I don't think its necessary to include it for easier gameplay.
01:34:492 (4,5) - your usual structuring is either no touching or full overlap, so i suggest to chose one for this too.


ongaku's another
00:02:799 (2) - I strongly suggest making this a slider, the following 2 notes are a chore to play, and it fits the structure imo.
00:10:338 (1,2,3) - can you make em be visually spaced identically? http://i.imgur.com/WFJOt2U.jpg just move (2) a bit to the left.
00:14:953 (3,4,5,6) - 00:19:261 (1,2,3,4) - - I suggest making em reversed 1/4 sliders, don't really approve them, the structure is really varied, and this is unneeded imo.
00:25:261 (2) - wish that you put it x:131: y:1 or something, to make it a bit away from the slider.
00:30:030 (1,2,3,4) - idk but this seems a bit hard to read comapred to rhythmically same patterns. Think you should tone down the overlaps the bit, and if you could make the flow a bit more easier to grasp.
00:31:261 (1) - think this needs more emphasis
00:35:107 (2,4) - mentioned this kind of pattern before.
00:52:184 (1) - why does this look so trippy wew
01:00:645 (3) - wow nice wave slider
mm this difficulty too complicated for me.

will mod one or 2 diffs tomorrow more.
