Hi. Here for M4M. I've been mapping for like 3+ years and you got better than me at visuals in like 5 months. Good job on that front, I would be proud if I were you. Hope this helps!

General

audio file name is the best

The clap hitsound doesn't feel all that rock and roll. Try finding a custom hitsound that can work as a clap like a snare (Look at ranked maps of a similar genre for inspiration).

Insane

00:05:482 (4,1) – As a general statement about this beginning section of the music, you have generally strong jumps like this one which feel a little too emphasized in the map given the mostly calm feeling in the song. Part of the reason this happens is because your aesthetic style is very geometrical which leads to only a few good DS options which isn't always ideal. That's not bad though since aesthetics are a way bigger concern for ranking, but it'd be nice if you could find both an aesthetic you like and a DS pattern that feels more appropriate for the pacing of the song. One option that I like is to make the SV at 00:00:780 (2) – smaller to give this whole section a slightly calmer feel (.90x might work). Other options are just finding different designs that offer more preferable DS's. For instance here, you could move 00:05:807 (1,2) – so that they stack on 00:04:509 (1,4) – head's.

00:09:374 (4,1) – The flow really backtracks on itself and feels a tiny bit uncomfortable/too emphasized in the map than in the song. You can kind of keep the same intention without being too intense by stacking 00:09:050 (3,1) – so that (1) is on (3)'s head.

00:16:185 (1) – This is what I find frustrating about rhythm. Your rhythm makes perfect sense, and yet this hitsound are off in the music because the finish isn't until the white tick. It feels like something ought to change, but the only thing that works is to have a clickable object on the big white tick, which means you should map the drums, but that's a terrible suggestion because like I said, your rhythm makes sense to me and I like to play it. So rhythm is frustrating.

00:17:482 (1,2,3) – compare this flow to 00:18:455 (1,3,1,2,3) - . They feel almost the same in terms of flow. The music feels different to me though, so I prefer drawing more contrast between these in the flow to reflect the difference in the music. Try having these be more different patterns (I.e, not both simple clockwise flow)

00:28:834 (4,5) – I have two issues. One is that you are about to do stacks at 00:29:320 (1,2) – and (3,4), etc, and that is very distinctive of the guitar sounds there, so having a stack at 00:28:834 (4,5) –makes this unique guitar expression feel less unique. The other issue is that I think 00:29:158 – would be nice if it were clickable to go with the vocal, so try making (5) be two circles and have the resulting (4,5,6) have generally low spacing so that a jump into (1) separates the vocals from the guitar.

00:37:104 (3,6) – the editor is sometimes bad at stacking. Try fixing this stack a bit, might have to do it manually.

00:39:536 (1,2) – This outline can be improved a bit. The middle parts of the slider are farther away than the beginning.

00:43:753 (1,2,3) – I'm not the best at hitsounds, but consider adding some hitsounds to emphasize the drums here.

00:54:617 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) – Since (2) is hidden under 00:54:131 (2) - , it's a bit hard to read. I'd suggest doing something to make sure the player knows their getting into a ¼ stream before stacking/making the reading hard.

01:43:590 (2,3,4) – Visual spacing could be more even like http://puu.sh/uYecp/ea3c6a0298.jpg

02:41:969 (2,3) – I feel like (3) is the strong note in the music, not (2). So I'd prefer a weak spacing into (2) and instead jump at (3).

Hard

00:10:185 (2,3) – This feels awkward to play. Notice how in the previous stacks like 00:05:320 (3,1) - , the slider end is on a strong vocal note. I think that's why the stack at 00:10:185 (2,3) – felt strange since the slider end isn't a strong note in the song. Experiment with some different rhythms since I'm not entirely sure how to best follow the music given your style, but I feel like making (2) a 1/1 slider works.

00:37:104 (2) – feels like a stronger vocal sound than 00:36:942 (1) - , so emphasis felt in the wrong place. Not really sure that you should jump at all though since you only jump 3 times in the kiai some of them just feel like odd men out.

00:42:131 (7) – this note feels pretty weak to me and I don't get why you have a jump into it.

01:40:509 (1) – there's a whistle on the slider body – ?
01:45:698 (1) – there's a drum hitsound on the slider end – ?
02:23:807 (2) – drum HS – ?

01:57:536 (1) – this calm section of music did not feel calm enough in the map. Include more moments of rest.

Good luck!

i'm flattered to hear this :D

General

audio file name is the best i know right

The clap hitsound doesn't feel all that rock and roll. Try finding a custom hitsound that can work as a clap like a snare (Look at ranked maps of a similar genre for inspiration). will find one and update the map with custom hitsounds once i do (edit: found a good snare hitsound)

Insane

00:05:482 (4,1) – As a general statement about this beginning section of the music, you have generally strong jumps like this one which feel a little too emphasized in the map given the mostly calm feeling in the song. For instance here, you could move 00:05:807 (1,2) – so that they stack on 00:04:509 (1,4) – head's. nerfed the jumps a bit in this section, but i feel that the sv here is fine

00:09:374 (4,1) – The flow really backtracks on itself and feels a tiny bit uncomfortable/too emphasized in the map than in the song. You can kind of keep the same intention without being too intense by stacking 00:09:050 (3,1) – so that (1) is on (3)'s head. done

So rhythm is frustrating.
still going to prioritize vocals here, the cymbal is on the red tick since i had to make do with what i had

00:17:482 (1,2,3) – compare this flow to 00:18:455 (1,3,1,2,3) - . They feel almost the same in terms of flow. The music feels different to me though, so I prefer drawing more contrast between these in the flow to reflect the difference in the music. Try having these be more different patterns (I.e, not both simple clockwise flow) patterns are already different visually so i don't think there's a need to differentiate them any more

00:37:104 (3,6) – the editor is sometimes bad at stacking. Try fixing this stack a bit, might have to do it manually. also done

00:39:536 (1,2) – This outline can be improved a bit. The middle parts of the slider are farther away than the beginning. fixed blanket and also made sure 00:40:023 (2) - perfectly overlapped part of 00:38:725 (3) - this time

00:43:753 (1,2,3) – I'm not the best at hitsounds, but consider adding some hitsounds to emphasize the drums here. added claps. these will become snares after i find a decent snare hitsound (edit: which i did find)

00:54:617 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) – Since (2) is hidden under 00:54:131 (2) - , it's a bit hard to read. I'd suggest doing something to make sure the player knows their getting into a ¼ stream before stacking/making the reading hard. once the player exits 00:54:131 (2) - they'll easily be able to see the shape and trajectory of the stream and play it fine.

01:43:590 (2,3,4) – Visual spacing could be more even like http://puu.sh/uYecp/ea3c6a0298.jpg done, but i think the spacing on the resulting jump is overdone compared to the rest of the patterns like this in the section

02:41:969 (2,3) – I feel like (3) is the strong note in the music, not (2). So I'd prefer a weak spacing into (2) and instead jump at (3). stacked 02:41:969 (2) - on previous slider's sliderend instead. same can be done for 02:42:617 (4) - so i did that there too

Experiment with some different rhythms since I'm not entirely sure how to best follow the music given your style, but I feel like making (2) a 1/1 slider works. fixed, although the stacks weren't for emphasis but rather to mark 1/1 gaps

00:37:104 (2) – feels like a stronger vocal sound than 00:36:942 (1) - , so emphasis felt in the wrong place. Not really sure that you should jump at all though since you only jump 3 times in the kiai some of them just feel like odd men out. fixed spacing

00:42:131 (7) – this note feels pretty weak to me and I don't get why you have a jump into it. this seems stronger than the previous note when taking into account vocals. also it's part of a pattern so yeah

01:40:509 (1) – there's a whistle on the slider body – ? all fixed, blame ctrl shift r
01:45:698 (1) – there's a drum hitsound on the slider end – ? ^
02:23:807 (2) – drum HS – ? ^

01:57:536 (1) – this calm section of music did not feel calm enough in the map. Include more moments of rest. this is a more watered down version of the same part in insane + the spacing and sv are lower than usual, so it's fine imo

Good luck!

thanks for modding!

Heyo ! Just a little mod cause why not :3

General

  • Disable Widescreen Support if you don't plan on doing a storyboard
  • Maybe disable letterboxing during breaks, idk about that though it's just a personnal preference
  • USE MORE CORNER AAAA jk, but you really should use more corner (I can maybe teach you how to use them more on the discord :wink wink:)

Starlight

  • 00:04:023 (4) - The vocals on the head and the end of the slider are the same intensity, I think it would be good if you made them clickable
  • 00:22:834 - The drum here is ignored, it feels weird for me, can you tell why why you ignored it ?
  • 00:25:428 - ^ maybe it's because you prioritized the vocal and to make a less intense part, but it feels weird for me to ignore "obvious drum sounds
  • 00:37:104 (1,2,3) - strong vocals on (1) so maybe increase ds ? same for (3),t here's a clap here so I recommend increasing spacing. What you can do is placing (1) under the reverse arrow of 00:36:455 (4) put (2) where (1)
  • 00:47:482 (1,2,3,4) - Same here, I don't think linear pattern and constant spacing fit that kind of rhythm, the song is clearly more intense on (1) and (3) so having the same spacing, my changes would be (1) where (3) was and (3) under the head of 00:48:293 (5)
  • 01:37:590 (4,5) - Maybe ctrl+g on those two, or just on (5), cause the next slider head is above the two so when playing I :personaly: tend to move in a diagonal from (4) to 01:37:915 (1) so I slider break on (5)
  • 01:42:293 (2,3,4,5,6) - Spacing decrease while vocal goes higher in pitch, might wanna change that
  • 02:25:266 (3,4) - Maybe ctrl+g the flow feels too sharp imo
  • 02:34:509 (6,7,8) - Intense guitar sound with such low spacing, maybe change the pattern for them and add a bigger spacing
  • 02:42:131 (3,4,1,2) - Could increase spacing here too, it's a very intense part due to the guitar solo
  • 02:50:239 (8,9) - ctrl+g for sharper angle and more confortable to play
  • 02:51:374 (1,1,1,1) - I don't see any reason to spam NC here

Insane

  • 00:04:996 (2) - I don't really understand why you put such a big spacing for a a pretty minor sound, might wanna change that
  • 00:09:050 (3,4) - Make them parallel, it'll look better imo (change the angle of (4) cause if you change (3) it will mess everything up.. Yeah that happens to me too, I know that feeling man..)
  • 00:10:509 (3,4,5,6) - Vocals coming in, but same ds, I would recommend putting (4) where (5) was, and putting (4) on the tail of 00:09:698 (1) I think it would be better at preparing for a more intense part while still maiking it pretty easy to play
  • 00:15:212 (2) - Why not stacking the head of this slider with 00:14:239 (3) instead of the tail of the slider with 00:13:915 (2)
  • 00:19:752 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - I this part, I would probably ctrl+g (2) and (3) to keep that clockwise motion from the pattern before and probably arrange the next pattern for (1) and (3) to have the bigger spacing because they are the stronger sounds
  • 00:22:834 - This time you didn't ignore the drum yay
  • 00:25:266 (1) - Not well stacked with 00:24:455 (2)
  • 00:28:834 (4,5) - Maybe ctrl+g for those two, so the "wa"on (6) of "kimi wa" is emphasize
  • 00:33:861 (1,1) - Fix tacking maybe ?
  • 00:38:239 (1) - I would do that for making it a bit more jumpy cause the song here is very instense
  • 01:34:671 (3) -maybe ctrl+g here so the jump wouldn't be that big. also, ctrl+g on 01:34:996 (4) to make it flow better
  • 02:18:942 (3,5) - Why not stacking them with 02:17:969 (5) ?
  • 02:24:131 (3) - ctrl+g for better flow
  • 02:49:266 (1) - Maybe put that slider tengent with the circle before, look kinda weird like that
  • 02:51:374 (1,1,1,1) - Same with the NC spam, no real reason
  • You might wanna fix some stacking issue, I saw a little more of them thoughout the whole map

okay, so I did wall of text for the two hardest diff, but that won't be the case for the two lower cause I don't have any experience in them, so wall of text is gone

Hard

Okay I'm really shit about low diff so rip

That's it for the mod, I hope it was useful and my suggestions didn't break your intention in this map

  • Disable Widescreen Support if you don't plan on doing a storyboard fuck
  • Maybe disable letterboxing during breaks, idk about that though it's just a personnal preference i have no idea what this does but sure
  • USE MORE CORNER AAAA jk, but you really should use more corner (I can maybe teach you how to use them more on the discord :wink wink:) it's not that big of a deal imo, since if i were to force myself to use the corners i would have to break a bunch of patterns + the objects are spread out anyway

Starlight

  • 00:04:023 (4) - The vocals on the head and the end of the slider are the same intensity, I think it would be good if you made them clickable sure, did the same for 00:04:023 -
  • 00:22:834 - The drum here is ignored, it feels weird for me, can you tell why why you ignored it ? prioritizing vocals
  • 00:25:428 - ^ maybe it's because you prioritized the vocal and to make a less intense part, but it feels weird for me to ignore "obvious drum sounds the vocals are the strongest instrument while the drums are more of a support beat, so i think it's fine to ignore drums in favor of vocals
  • 00:37:104 (1,2,3) - strong vocals on (1) so maybe increase ds ? same for (3),t here's a clap here so I recommend increasing spacing. What you can do is placing (1) under the reverse arrow of 00:36:455 (4) put (2) where (1)00:36:455 (4,5,1,2) - is emphasized through sharp flow / a change in direction that's uncomfortable to snap changed rhythm to be consistent with the one on insane so this was done
  • 00:47:482 (1,2,3,4) - Same here, I don't think linear pattern and constant spacing fit that kind of rhythm, the song is clearly more intense on (1) and (3) so having the same spacing, my changes would be (1) where (3) was and (3) under the head of 00:48:293 (5) same here same as above
  • 01:37:590 (4,5) - Maybe ctrl+g on those two, or just on (5), cause the next slider head is above the two so when playing I :personaly: tend to move in a diagonal from (4) to 01:37:915 (1) so I slider break on (5) fair point, done and ctrl+ged 01:38:401 (2,3) - for consistency
  • 01:42:293 (2,3,4,5,6) - Spacing decrease while vocal goes higher in pitch, might wanna change that the spacing on 01:42:293 (2,3) - is meant to give emphasis to the start of the vocal phrase, getting lower as the vocals ease in. but yeah i'll keep this in mind
  • 02:25:266 (3,4) - Maybe ctrl+g the flow feels too sharp imo good point, switched their places
  • 02:34:509 (6,7,8) - Intense guitar sound with such low spacing, maybe change the pattern for them and add a bigger spacing i treat 02:34:509 (6,7,8) - as a phrase to be jumped to which is why the spacing to it is big but the individual notes in it have low spacing
  • 02:42:131 (3,4,1,2) - Could increase spacing here too, it's a very intense part due to the guitar solo increased spacing especially on 02:43:104 (2) - since it's a pretty strong note
  • 02:50:239 (8,9) - ctrl+g for sharper angle and more confortable to play i feel the round flow gives mroe contrast to the sharp flow needed to move to 02:50:563 (1) - , emphasizing 02:50:563 (1) - in the process. also i kinda feel 02:50:077 (7,8) - will be uncomfy af to hit if 8 and 9 were ctrlged lol
  • 02:51:374 (1,1,1,1) - I don't see any reason to spam NC here colorhax

Insane

  • 00:04:996 (2) - I don't really understand why you put such a big spacing for a a pretty minor sound, might wanna change that nerfed spacing
  • 00:09:050 (3,4) - Make them parallel, it'll look better imo (change the angle of (4) cause if you change (3) it will mess everything up.. Yeah that happens to me too, I know that feeling man..) i think players will recognize that this is the same slider flipped horizontally
  • 00:10:509 (3,4,5,6) - Vocals coming in, but same ds, I would recommend putting (4) where (5) was, and putting (4) on the tail of 00:09:698 (1) I think it would be better at preparing for a more intense part while still maiking it pretty easy to play i think the spacing on 00:11:158 (1) - does that already, plus the vocals on this part are the same intensity as the oned before them since they dont have any backing instruments
  • 00:15:212 (2) - Why not stacking the head of this slider with 00:14:239 (3) instead of the tail of the slider with 00:13:915 (2) oh shit
  • 00:19:752 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - I this part, I would probably ctrl+g (2) and (3) to keep that clockwise motion from the pattern before and probably arrange the next pattern for (1) and (3) to have the bigger spacing because they are the stronger sounds fixed the part so emphasis should be in the correct places, but not exactly like you said
  • 00:22:834 - This time you didn't ignore the drum yay yay
  • 00:25:266 (1) - Not well stacked with 00:24:455 (2) i think the editor hates me
  • 00:28:834 (4,5) - Maybe ctrl+g for those two, so the "wa"on (6) of "kimi wa" is emphasize fixed, but not in this way
  • 00:33:861 (1,1) - Fix tacking maybe ? brb kms
  • 00:38:239 (1) - I would do that for making it a bit more jumpy cause the song here is very instense i feel the (sharp) change in flow is enough
  • 01:34:671 (3) -maybe ctrl+g here so the jump wouldn't be that big. also, ctrl+g on 01:34:996 (4) to make it flow better good point, though i didnt ctrlg 4 since that sort of flow occurs a bunch of times in this section already like 01:39:861 (3,4) -
  • 02:18:942 (3,5) - Why not stacking them with 02:17:969 (5) ? sure
  • 02:24:131 (3) - ctrl+g for better flow 02:24:131 (3,4,1) - is gonna be uncomfy af if i do that, plus this sort of flow has occured in the map a bunch of times at this point
  • 02:49:266 (1) - Maybe put that slider tengent with the circle before, look kinda weird like that but my triangle srsly tho i think it looks fine
  • 02:51:374 (1,1,1,1) - Same with the NC spam, no real reason colorhax
  • You might wanna fix some stacking issue, I saw a little more of them thoughout the whole map i'll do that soon

okay, so I did wall of text for the two hardest diff, but that won't be the case for the two lower cause I don't have any experience in them, so wall of text is gone

My first impression is that you used wayy to much distance snap. This mapping style feels really clunky and I feel like it's not dynamic at all, the flow doesn't really exist. Use distance snapping mainly for mapping streams/triples/doubles as these patterns are naturally hard to read and require some help from the mappers side.
00:02:888 (5) - try to make this straight line into a triangle, would do better job than a plain straight line
00:04:185 (5) - same here
00:20:725 (3) - despite stacking the notes here I still have a feeling it's not readable, try to use a half beat slider here
00:22:671 (3) - use half beat repeating slider here like so instead of circles as it unnecesarily creates reading difficulties
00:29:320 (1) - try to remap this pattern into something like this for a better flow and more variety
00:47:482 (3) - try using a triangle pattern here
01:37:590 (4) - I think these kicksliders are overmapped, listen to the song carefully and decide which one of them fits the rythm/vocals
02:00:455 (3) - swap the position of the timeline of the circle with the slider that goes right after it like so to better reflect vocals
02:05:320 (1) - same thing I mentioned before, try to use some other pattern here as this isn't dynamic enough

02:36:293 (1) - offtopic but i really liked the way you mapped this part, try to use circular flow more often, it makes the map more dynamic and fun!

In conclusion this map isn't bad, but it isn't great either. You need to work on dynamics and flow as this map feels weird to play. I'd not say its boring but more like unexpectable and weird.

My first impression is that you used wayy to much distance snap. This mapping style feels really clunky and I feel like it's not dynamic at all, the flow doesn't really exist. Use distance snapping mainly for mapping streams/triples/doubles as these patterns are naturally hard to read and require some help from the mappers side. distance snap was for aesthetic reasons - plus the map revolves around low spacing + sharp / linear flow - a concept that breaks somewhat during the chorus to symbolize intensity changes
00:02:888 (5) - try to make this straight line into a triangle, would do better job than a plain straight line i feel the straight line reflects how the vocals are all the same pitch
00:04:185 (5) - same here ^
00:20:725 (3) - despite stacking the notes here I still have a feeling it's not readable, try to use a half beat slider here not a 1/2 slider since that feels weird with the white tick and all but did make 3 a 1/1 slider for readability
00:22:671 (3) - use half beat repeating slider here like so instead of circles as it unnecesarily creates reading difficulties this feels fine to read idk
00:29:320 (1) - try to remap this pattern into something like this for a better flow and more variety the reason it suddenly switches to all 1/2 stacks in this part is because the song changes to have these repetitive guitar sounds at the same pitch. because the sounds are repetitive, the map at this part is repetitive as well, and the stacking is to emphasize that the sounds are similar in pitch. also flow is still comfortable (in a linear way) with a sharp change in linear direction + nc each group/pair of sounds to emphasize the "sharpness" of the guitar.
00:47:482 (3) - try using a triangle pattern here not exactly what you said but made this more similar to 00:36:942 (1,2,3,4,5) - for consistency
01:37:590 (4) - I think these kicksliders are overmapped, listen to the song carefully and decide which one of them fits the rythm/vocals theres kinda this subtle twinkling sound in the background that im mapping the ends to but i will keep this opinion in mind as not everyone may agree with me on that
02:00:455 (3) - swap the position of the timeline of the circle with the slider that goes right after it like so to better reflect vocals im following instrumentals on the slow part here, since the vocals kinda die down, then when combocolors / the song gets more vibrant i switch back to vocals to indicate intensity change
02:05:320 (1) - same thing I mentioned before, try to use some other pattern here as this isn't dynamic enough same reasoning as before

02:36:293 (1) - offtopic but i really liked the way you mapped this part, try to use circular flow more often, it makes the map more dynamic and fun! thanks tho i do use circular flow (in nonobvious ways) through the entire map - take the first instrumental part for example.

In conclusion this map isn't bad, but it isn't great either. You need to work on dynamics and flow as this map feels weird to play. I'd not say its boring but more like unexpectable and weird. will take that into consideration

thanks for modding!

hi
from my modding q

hard:
00:01:266 (3,1) - stack it properly
00:36:942 (1) - remove nc
00:37:104 (2) - nc
00:43:590 (2) - put an object here because of the drums?
02:02:563 (1) - lagay mo yan dito? 02:02:725 - .

01:53:807 (2,3) - stack mo nalang toh dito 01:52:834 (5,6,7) -
02:02:563 (1) - same don sa hard diff
02:37:104 (3,4,5) - remap? wala naman akong naririnig na 1/4 dito
02:38:401 (3,4,5,6) - ^
02:46:671 (1) - ilayo mo don sa previous note para ma emphasize yung finish at yung 1/1 slider

that's all
parang sabog yung mp3 ng ginagamit mo
good luck
ganda ng map mo
